Does anyone else's Walmart have disgusting produce?

I've shopped Walmart here in Ohio, in Michigan, Arizona and assorted other states I've passed through. All the stores had nice big produce sections but when I'd take a close look, the vegges were limp and verging on spoiling, the packaged salad and lettuce had been partially frozen or were ready to go bad and the fruits always have those little gnats buzzing around. So I get my produce at Kroger's in the winter and local farms the rest of the time. I'm just wondering if I've happened on the rogue stores or if they're all that way. I hate going to more than one store but it does save a few pennies to do so. If Walmart would shape up their produce section, I could do all my shopping there!

In South Texas I sometimes shop at Walmart. I like the clothing section.Walmart tries hard and their returns program is unbeatable. I bought a Black and Decker bread machine at Walmart and used it a few times. I wasn't happy with the way it baked. I took it back and in the meantime the price had been rolled back. I returned the old one, picked up another exactly the same and was refunded $38.00.

I love Walmart for everything except the produce. Their return policy is the most generous and cooperative I've ever experienced and the employees are 99.9% helpful but unintrusive. I just wish I could shop there for everything!

I don't buy too much produce at our local WM. I find the prices in the produce department aren't that competitive versus our local grocery stores. It doesn't look too bad though. It must depend on the management. Someone must be buying it though as there are a lot of folks milling around that aisle all the time. As far as food shopping in general at WM, some of the prices are good and some are higher than the supermarkets. Cereal is always on sale around here and WM can't compete with the sale prices. So I go to two places at least for the food shopping. No problem, since I'm at WM often enough. Trying to wean myself off that store. Went to Target this week and got a nice surprise -good grocery prices and the store felt clean and organized. whit

I have never had a problem with the produce at any of the Wal-Marts in my area. I personally know the produce department manager at one of them and he is always on the butts of his employees to go through everything an get rid of anything questionable.
