Would You Like To See Your Insides?

Have you ever wondered what you look like inside? Have you got a natural curiousity about your own body, how it works, what it looks like, how each organ functions and how the body deals with food, deal with disposal and deals with healing the body? When I went for a cystocopy I had a lens placed inside me and I was awake as they connected it up to a computer screen, I had a few internal problems and I was so fascinated at the machine showing my insides, I was asking lots of questions, much to the bemusement of the nurses who kept asking me to lie flat but no I was too interested with what the camera was showing! Does that sound bizarre? I have got to for another op where another camera will be placed inside me and I am actually looking forward to it, I could sit and watch what is happening inside my body for hours Is that weird, or is your first thought ewwwwww? Or do you think I'm weird? Sorry weirder for doing this? I would love to see what is happening inside my body and how it all functions Do you have a fascination with your body in this way? Or would you rather be fully sedated or oblivious to any operations where cameras are put inside you? The body is a wonderful thing and I don't think most of us have a clue what really goes inside do we?

Hi,dear wolfie, I would alos like to do that as I am also curious about what the inside of my body also works ..but it is a pity that I even don't have that chance to do that ..haha..if I have one then I am really sure I would do that but except for some terrible occasions..so don't think that to be a weired thing... All the best and take care.. Molly

It is really quite interesting to see the real appearance about my own body, and to know how the organs work in the inside of my body. I did watch a movie “The Fantasy Voyage” during my middle school day. I could remember the story roughly only. It was a friction tale about five medical professional staffs, whose bodies had been minimized were injected into the body of a patient to be cured. Their adventurous voyage in the inside body of the patient of course was really thrilling and attractive. Ok, understand the inside of my body well and know how it all functions I then could take well care of them at anytime.

Weirder - definitely weirder and just whn I thought that was impossible! lol I haven'tr ever really thought about it but my guess is I would react very like you did - scary thought huh? hee hee hee I do think the way our bodies work is amazing but at the same time I hope I never get the chance to see it - had enough tests, scans etc to last for a good long time! Love you baby brother! xxx

I hate to be predictable LOL! Well you can't get weirder than me. If we saw what was going on inside our bodies I think most of us would think twice about how we treated it, hugs xxxx

I was able to see inside of myself once recently during a gynecological procedure and I didn't really care what was on the screen. It hurt too much to worry about anything but the pain. Yikes! Won't do that one again without what my hubby calls Idon'tgiveashit juice, better known as Versed. Two syllables. I have to get regular endoscopies and they insert a camera down through my throat into my esophagus. You get shot up with a lot of Versed and Demerol for that and I rather like the feeling, Wolfie! Nice and dreamy. Ok, stoned. Better? Yup! I'd really prefer to just let the doctors see what they have to see - I'll lay on the table and be stoned. Happily.

Well, none of that particular substance, but there are other things, darling. Some smokable stuff, perhaps? I'm pretty sure I'll be lighting up under that big beautiful moon, puffing into the night, as I howl and sing and celebrate the lunar delights. Boy, it would be nice, though, to have some of that juice, wouldn't it?

Wolfie, I am just like you. I find the internal body a fascinating piece of machinery! In my line of work I frequently get to see the insides of the body in action and I never cease to be amazed! I have never had the chance to see my own body in action, as I have been fortunate to not need any type of testing. I would find it fascinating to see my own though and it wouldn't bother me a bit!

Well I would like to see if the doctor is not taking out what should be left in. I rather suspect when I went to get my fallopian tubes straightened out that the doctor said, "okay it looks like she has been a very bad girl. Hand me the scapel, no not the sterilized ones, the very rusty ones." and that when they were cutting my flesh (that was before they went from the bottom up) that the doctor cut through a muscle and said, "oops!" so I wish I had seen what I could have seen what was going and had my purse at my side so I could hit their hand if they started to do something wrong.

I don't think it's weird or gross at all. I was in nursing school for a while, and I got to observe some exploratory exams like a bronchoscopy, and even some surgeries. Most of my fellow students were interested as I was, and we took every chance we could get to observe. It is fascinating how everything looks inside, not gross like many would think, but beautiful, in healthy tissue. When I went in for a colonoscopy, I was going to watch it on the monitor, but they told me they wouldn't be able to give me the sedative if I wanted to be awake enough to watch. I'm kind of a big chicken about pain or even discomfort, so I opted for the sedative. I think I still could have watched anyway, because I wasn't entirely out.

I think it's only natural that we should be curious about the internal workings of our bodies, wolfie. I think it is our responsibility to get to know our bodies because otherwise we wouldn't have a clue as to what's going on when something goes wrong. It helps us to explain things to our doctors so they can better diagnose our illnesses. When I was in high school we had to study all of the internal organs and learn to draw them in order to know our bodies better.

LOL. I ever look the X-Ray results of my body and also when I had problem with my teeth, I got a panoramic screen and seeing those 'things' would have me shiver. perhaps I would rather say no, I'm not such brave enough to see the inner part of my own body, probably will choose to see the others', but not mine. *grin*

I think it would be awesome to see what goes on inside! The closest thing I can relate to is when I was pregnant and had lots of ultrasounds. Some lasted for about a half hour and I watched the whole time. I looked forward to having them done! I don't think it's weird at all. If it is, then I guess I'm weird, too. I think anything that has to do with health and the human body is so interesting.

It's not bizarre to me, I would love to see my insides too. Do remember seeing those xrays when people were swallowing? I think the human body is fascinating. It's amazing how far the technology has come. Who thought 20 years ago we would be diagnosing disease by putting little camera in side of us. Simply amazing.

Indeed, can you imagine in another 20 years time how forwardly advanced in medicine again we'd become?

Oh yes wolfie, I have a fascination with what goes on inside my body, and I would be glued to the spot if I could see it! I am interested in anything medical or surgical. The body is such an amazing thing; seeing how it deals with whatever we put into it, how every organ works, would be riveting to me! You are not weird; we are just curious. If we saw what went on inside our bodies, perhaps we wouldn't abuse it like we do.

What a good perspective to take, indeed if the heavy smokers and drinkers realized what was happening to their insides then they'd think twice surely? Thank you I never thought of it that way. Same with food too, too much sugar and salt, wow, great angle my friend

No thanks! I had a colonoscopy a few years ago and they gave me the high glossy photographs of the process and although it was pink and squeaky clean inside my intestines (thank you disgusting evacuatory drink!) I find myself quite squeamish to view them.

No, I don't want to look my inside. It will be so horrible for me to see the blood and organs etc. Especially they are from my body. It reminds me of some horror movies.

At first, when I think about my insides I think it's a little creepy. However, there's a part of me that completely agrees with you! I took an anatomy class in high school that fascinated me. We dissected frogs, baby pigs, clams, crayfish, and cats. We each had a "partner in crime" since the specimen were very expensive for my high school to purchase. It was also nice having someone else to "enjoy" the dissections with. (LOL) We spent the longest time on the cats. They were really cool to look at. I've never looked at a cadaver, but I have a friend who's dissected one. I find those kinds of things very interesting. Now in going back to the subject of your discussion, seeing my own insides might make me a little whoozy, but I think it'd be so interesting! That's hilarious how your doctors told you to lay flat, but you just couldn't help looking at the screen! I've heard they actually have pills with cameras inside of them that they have people swallow. They put the video up on the screen and the patient can see his or her own insides as the pill "digests." The pill, of course, won't completely digest since it's got the camera inside of it. The patient obviously will have to pass it unless, of course, it's a disposable mechanism. I guess I do find all of this quite fascinating. It's like you said. There's so much our bodies do on a daily basis that we can't even scratch the surface of understanding all of it. I had surgery on my gums back in October (2007) and I really wanted to know what exactly they were doing because I (obviously) couldn't see it. I was awake the entire time, which slightly surprised me, but I also didn't want to have to pay for anything like that since the prices are ridiculous. I might be interested in seeing someone else's procedure and insides, but it'd probably freak me out a little too much to watch a surgery that was being performed on me. I'm sure in the coming years, whoever wants to will be able to watch their surgery or order it on video to watch later. (LOL) It may sound far-fetched right now, but I don't believe it's that far away. What do you think? This is the most interesting discussion I've responded to yet today! You always come up with the best, Reese. Take care!

Knock me out before you put anything inside of me please. I have a fascination with the human body but only the parts on the outside. If it is beneath the skin I don't want to see it. I get woozey when I see my own blood. The only thing I can stand is when it is one of my kids. Then I can hold it together long enough to fix their boo boo but if I didn't give birth to you keep your body fluids and organs to yourself.
