Did we ever get an exact response on how it all works?

Ok, so we met Crash and had some general questions answered about myLot. While it was interesting, did anyone else notice that some of the questions were not directly answered? I personally did not have the patience to read through all 278 questions, or whatever the number was. I did read through quite a few and even asked one myself. So tell me, if anyone knows...what exactly is this algorithm that determines the payout on a post? I can't imagine that humans read every post every day and say "this one gets a penny" or "this one doesn't" There has to be a script built into this site that "reads" each post. This means that the payouts must be based on mathematical reasoning, such as the number of words or the number of letters per post. We know that some posts don't get any payout, so it makes sense that they are probably the ones with less than a certain amount of characters. Right? So what about very long posts. Do they receive more than a penny? I know that not everything that seems logical is, so I'm just curious about this. Was this ever answered or will it remain a myLot mystery? I'm voting for the latter because as soon as someone figures it out, myLot will start to lose money. Any thoughts on this?

I've been pretty busy the past ten days or so and missed out on the discussion. Is there a place here that lists the questions and answers?

Thanks! After a quick look-through, I'll save that for when I have more time...lots of sludge to wade through! You'd think they'd cut/paste/edit and put it in a FAQ. Well, it's their living room. I really shouldn't complain, I'm just a visitor in their house after all.

I asked a question. I really didn't get a clear answer. He said he already touched base on the subject, but didn't tell me what page so I could find it. I'm not going to look through all those pages to find it. I didn't see any clear answers. Alot of his answers were pretty much up in the air or they were answers that are already given in FAQ. And when people asked if Mylot was going to start doing something in the future, he would correct them and say that he wasn't here to talk about mylot improvements. ummm....He asked "what do you want to know about Mylot?", and that's what some people wanted to know. anyway. To me, it really doesn't matter what i'm getting paid, whether it's a penny per post or word or however it's done. It's obvious that payout isn't alot as it is. I like the environment. I'm not up for breaking the Mylot code. lol. have a good day!

I do recall reading in one of the responses from Crash that discussions were not paid per post. He wouldn't commit to any specific reasoning behind it which keeps us all in the dark. This is what I gathered from reading the few responses that I read from Crash. Bottom line: I didn't learn much from the whole scenerio but maybe this is what myLot wants. I recently posted a discussion about whether someone would choose or not choose a friend by their race or religion. I had over 60 responses. I answered each and every response. I wasn't paid according to the time I spent but also think we aren't paid for additional comments made on our discussions. I think your mentioning of the myLot mystery is exactly as planned. If myLot wanted us to know the exact amount(s) either per post or per response, it would be specifically out there for us to understand. Your discussion is very good and interesting.

If you're talking about the elusive answers to the star ranking questions, I have my own theory about that. Those with lower rankings get paid less. Allowing the trolls to run rampant with their minussing vendettas in fact saves myLot money.

I wonder if they regret starting that Discussion with Crash? I started reading through the discussion and wondered if Crash was feeling overwhelmed and taken back by all the questions. I did find a lot of the questions I read did not get clear cut answers and I also thought when it came to the star rating question poor Crash didn't have a solid answer to satisfy mylotter's that feel they know what the true answer is. I myself found the myLot answers to be more satisfying then Crashes on that subject. About the payout question. I can't help but wonder if it is best for us not to know how it works. What do you think on this? If we knew how it worked would people just ramble on for the sake of rambling just to get paid? On the other hand with out us know how they pay per post leaves them to choose how they want to pay or if they want to pay. It doesnt' make myLot accountable and it leaves us with uncertainity that we can never know what our efforts are worth. Really it is all about them and their income and not ours. I guess we should be greatful we have a place to come and get paid something; I guess.
