You know what really bugs me?

What really bugs me is when people obviously don't bother to take the time to read your posts before they respond. You can tell someone you had a child 20 years ago and they will congratulate you on being pregnant. I understand this site is worldwide and that not everyone has complete command of the English language, but those aren't the responses I'm referring to. I'm referring to the ones who in perfect English wrote a response which had nothing to do with what you had to say. In a more serious post, I almost want to prefix it with "Only respond if your intent is to read this in its entirety". Do you experience this is your posts or is it just me? Sorry for the rant, but I'm in a bit of a bad mood today. Thanks for your patience.

I just wrote to congratulate you on having a baby and on taking the English as a second language course. Seriously, just trying to make you smile here. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I'm sorry to hear of your frustration over the responses in which you have gotten. I have gotten I believe two like that, but I don't start many discussions. Now, I can see where it would be even more frustrating if you needed a serious response in order to help you personally and not just random responses. I think some people here post just to post. Now if I may ask, the discussion in which you are referring to, did it get a response in which you needed?

Its been several times that it has happened, but yes I did get an answer, or perhaps I should say I got responses that were insightful. Don't mind me, I'm just not having the best of days.

I'm glad to hear that even though "A responder" frustrated you with their response, you did get the insightful answer/s in which you needed.

I have encountered this too but I usually just politely thank them for their input and move on from it! I do read the whole post but I had a bad habit of focusing on the part that most interest me or that i can relate to best at that time and run with that or go on about something that is in someway connected with the post! I do try not to but I guess i am easily distracted sometimes! lol xxxx

I do the same thing for the most part, but some answers have been so off center that I don't know how to reply to them at all. LOL. They just leave me bewildered.

I mostly post discussions that are simple and straight forward. I haven't posted anything that often goes along with time constraints so that the responses can still be accomodated even though the discussion has been a few months or even years ago.. so I guess I have to answer no with such an experience. Its okay to rant since your content was quite concrete and I believe that others also have experience something similar. Its okay to rant it out in a good way than to settle it into something that doesn't go out productively, well, that's what I think anyway ^_^

Well, I hope your following days would go better than that of what made you angry. Still, your anger came out productively, that is still good if you ask me. ^_^ And your welcome like all those who have responded to your discussion :)

Hi Kat! I haven't experienced that yet since I've only started a few discussions so far, but it would definitely frustrate me. Heck, it frustrates me when it ISN'T my discussion and I see people doing it, especially when someone is asking for help. If you don't read it all and understand what they're asking, you can screw them up even more.

Fortunately this doesn't happen very often when I put out discussions, thankfully all the responses relate to the subject in question, I guess that you've a couple and it has exacerbated your mood, sorry you are feeling down today and it's good to have a right rant, I'm sure you feel better for it, we all get off days, and think about this maybe the person who responded differently than you expected maybe they had an offday too? If it was the same person. Tomorrow you'll just laugh it off my friend!

Yes, I have had this to happen to me on many occassions. However, I'm sure I may have done it to others on occassions also! I know that sometimes the person's discussion may trigger me to think of a personal experience (sometimes only marginally related) and I end up talking about that instead of answering their original discussion issue. I usually don't realize how 'off' I've been with my response until it is posted and I see it and reread it!

it happens, that's all I can say. I've been here for over a year and know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I can tell that it's a mistake, the poster replied to a discussion with similar title and decided to reply to mine without reading it through, just because the title was similar. I did the same mistake a few times too. But there are also people that did that for money, just a few words and left. And then there are those "emo" people, having bad day and decided to lash out on everyone including mylotters. that's what I like being on mylot sometimes, after a while I can look back and laugh at this amazing community.

I think you are just in a bad mood today. You seem like far too nice a person to get out of joint over a simple misunderstanding. Most of us give a lot to our real life relationships and have to be detail oriented in our lives, homes, and jobs, so I think most of us just want to relax a bit here and have fun. I don't pretend to remember all the details of my myLot friend's lives and am pretty sure they are for the most part clueless about mine. Should I embarrass them by asking them what color are my eyes? I hope you have a good sense of humor underneath the weight of your day, though, as obviously I am trying to make you laugh a little.

I've had the same thing happen in some of my discussions and have noticed it's usually the newer members who do it. I think their just trying to get their pennies for responding. and their responses are usually very short.

I don't think I've noticed whether it was new members or not, but I suppose thats entirely possible and it would make sense.

This is not a rant. Most of the time people have responded even if it is four months later and I have probably changed my mind three times since I posted the discussion. What bothers me is people sometimes come off a little blunt but thats ok as I can take it..I am married with children so I heard a lot of stuff directed at me.. Yes, somedays can be better then others and you are no different and I probably complain too much but that is why we got this forum. What bugs me is that some peope think of the US as everyone has a lot of money and we drive two cars and live in a palace..like JR did..on Dallas..its not that way. sorry Sometimes these other countries understand English but not our "slang"...if you get my drift? But so far I have not had a post as wild as yours..20 years later after having a child? well, i would be upset too..what one word you said brings it all together..patience..it does not come easy..lol..have a better day ..tomorrow

A couple of times it has happened but not often. I may not read all the story sometimes but i sceam through it all and make sure im getting what they want but tahts only sometimes most of the time I do read all of it or i just dont post if i dont fill like it. I dont know its annoying but just sing sing a song La la la la la la la la la la la to fill better, have a better day, and think of something happy.

I have had similar experiences with a few of my discussions. Occasionally it is going to happen. I don't know if people get in a hurry, or it is just a bad habit.Try not to let it bother you too much. All you can do is set a good example by reading others discussions. Or you can point out that "if they had really read the whole post" But some don't take that well, either. Don't worry about the rant. My lot is a good place to get things off your chest. Rant away. It can be good therapy.

Well personally i think people here get tired easily by reading lengthy discussions ranting about a thing of no interest to them. They tend to give a response a little relevant and try to get away to the next one.Like pregnant and twenty year old baby.lol

i think you are justified in rant. it is only not the case with you. i have also seen this. Many times from the responses it seems they do not read the total post at all. they just reply as they think it will earn them ratings and earnings.

OH YES!! I hate that as well. Its like um did you even think about reading it or did you just push the respond button? We take the time to type it all out the least you can do before you respond is to read it. Its not that hard and dosent take but a minute. If your not interested or dont have an opinion then go to the next discussion. Dont type some off the wall answer. Hope your day gets Better. I have been having a bad week but things are starting to look up now.

I know what you mean, I had the same thing with something I put on here, or maybe it was just the way I worded it, I still have troubles getting what I want to say down on screen. But also I could possibly see how this happens and this is because I may have done it from time to time, but when I look at a discussion I kind of read it but not read it properly and so I answer from the bit I remember reading and then I post it, then when I look at the discussion again I have totally misread the thing and answered with something not directly to do with the discussion!! Trouble with me is once I start typing sometimes I just get carried away and ramble on about anything!!

Maybe those are the people who just want to post in order to gain the .01 cent from mylot. I hope you cheer up and have a great day...
