This has been getting to me now for a while and now I need to rant a bit
Why in this world are there People still on here that find it so awsome to down rate good People
What joy are you getting out of it
My Friends are wonderful and they give honest Opinions and just because of that they are being viciously attacked on their Ratings
It saddens me to see good People being attacked like that
If you do not like other Members Opinion then don't ask, write or Tell the world what is on your Mind
I love my Friends and they do not deserve to be victimized like that
Now no doubt because I have spoke my mind here I might get attacked if this Discussion stays long enough for Members to see
I have seen dear Friends of mine being deleted over the 15 Months I have been here that did nothing but speak their mind, Friends that I care deeply for, I am seeing Friends going lower and lower on their Ratings because someone did not like what they wrote and they get a Gang together to attack this Person, please Mylot look into this and try and stop it as it is not fair
Ok I have got that of my chest and I am certainly ready for the attack but go gentle on me I am a very sensitive Person,
All my Friends that have been attacked like this you are worth more then 10s believe me you are close to my Heart and no stupid Number will ever change that

Well Angel you already know that I have no idea why they do that - perhaps their real lives are so empty that they can only gain a sense of purpose or accomplishment by coming online and bullying people and making them feel down? Perhaps they are hurting and bitter or well I don't know why but I do agree it is wrong and nasty to do that! xxx

But what would the Site be like if we all did it when we have a bad Day or are in a bad mood
When I am down or in a bad Mood I change Furniture round and that sorts me out hehehehe
So why can't they do that or something else and then come on here

I support you much! you did anything wrong ,at least i have never seen.we have the right to say what we want that something unilligall.I have lot of friends, e trust them,and i also help them if they are treated unfairly.we should help our friend.so if think they are right ,justdo it.nothing!

so far I have been lucky and no one has attacked me nor do I know personally of people being attacked, although every now and then I see a post such as yours so I know they are out there.
I don't know why people down rate like that, that also should be considered a my lot violation,
actually there should only be two ratings positive or abuse, when they have to justify their reason in the abuse form these people would have think twice before they do it.
Please suggest it to mylot.

My dear friend, I honestly think this has something to do with parenting. A child who is never questioned or never set right, goes out into the world believing that they have a god-given right to be agreed with every time they speak. Now in an open forum like this, they come into contact with nasty people who may hold different opinions. Now, they are not used to people disagreeing and it makes them so angry when people do. The only thing they can do is hit the neg button. How many times have you seen responses (often by Americans) starting with the words are you crazy? This is exclusivly when you have disagreed with them, they just cant stand it, mom and pop never do it

They way mylot has it set up on the rating system is not designed to be fair. Whoops, I spoke an opinion on the rating system but you've already said the discussion may not stay.
The star rating is a mylot niche to keep people up in the air.
Wouldn't be cool if everyone just started rating everyone negative to be #1 . Myself I've always been number #1, I'm my best sponsor. It's up to me to make things happen.
Now if everyone was to rate everyone #1. Then this would really put a spin on mylots business model.

I don't know why ppl have to be such jerks here either, gabs. I have seen several friends permanently suspended from mylot as well, for what I see, the same reasons. Speaking their minds. I could care less if my rating goes down. Doesn't bother me cause I still get paid the same amount no matter.

i totally agree with you gabs... some people are just childish and can't take other people's opinion maturely... that's why they behave like that... i hope mylot can do something about that and it really saddens me when people leave mylot just because they feel hurt for being attacked and abused... this has got to stop!!!

We have both seen this type of thing before and sadly we probably will again. With the vast number of people involved in Mylot it only takes a very small percentage of members to make a difference.
There is not a great deal that we can actually do to prevent this from happening. We all know that the practice is wrong, but can only accept it and try to ignore the ratings.

Yes Asylum sadly we have as some of the Friends that disappeared where Mutal Friends and I guess you are right we have to just put up with it and ignore
I am glad though that you are still around as I thought you where gone as well but then I noticed your Avatar changing now and again so I knew you where still here

You know what? I don't know. I never would do that to anyone though. And why do people do things that they do in general? Like for instance.. why would a group of mothers who work at home on a particular forum rip someone like me to shreads and poke fun at my phobia, and basically act like high school bullies? Scary fact of the matter is, they have home businesses AND are mothers. I hate to know how their kids are going to turn out, sorry.. just had to rant about that again! But back to your question, I don't know but people obviously get a kick out of making someone else suffer in one way or another. Sad to say it but that seems to be a part of human nature! From what I have seen lately anyway.

And you are right these are Parents and that will mean that their Children have not got a good Role Model at all

Thanks, I thought about emailing the one who started everything with me but I think I will just leave it be and trust that she gets what she deserves in the end. i totally agree with you here, gabs. i dont understand these people either. why cant they just butt out and go do something useful with themselves. noone has the right to down rate or attack. if you dont like the discussion, why do they bother with it. they spoil it for the ones who do the right thing and enjoy being on here. as you say, though, a number means nothing. its friendship that counts.

I've never ran across this happening to me but I generally steer away from controversial discussions. I have to agree with you just because someone don't agree with your opinion doesn't mean to rate them negatively. If I don't agree I may not rate at all, but I have never rated negatively.
This sure would be a boring world if we all had the same opinions don't you think?

Yeah, I don't have time to respond to discussions besides the one's that make it to my inbox. I never can seem to get caught up, I get further behind everyday.
I know you are at Yuwie too, what's the other site that you belong. I joined Gather a few months ago, but haven't had much time to be on there, as these two sites keep me pretty busy.

I don't pay attention to the numbers anyway so I haven't noticed this. I do know that it happens as it happened to me a while back. I say if they get some big kick out of knocking someone's number down then let them have at it. It is the person not the number that matters.

I know. I agree with you. I don't really see the point in the rating system as it doesn't affect our earnings but it does cause some hurt feelings. I think the alert button is good and I think an ignore or block button would be good to say block some from just antagonizing discussions. I would think if one person gets blocked from too many discussions then that would alert them to look into that person.

I agree this is why we should do away with the star rating or revamp the star rating so that the only way you can rate is if you join the discussion and post something yourself. I think that would limit the abuse of star rating abusers. I have been through that my star went down to white but my friends god love them mobilized and made sure to get me back up .. LOL!! I love them all.. They are a great lot. I know what you mean gabs. it's very sad ...

Yes you are right they don't have anything better to do but how can they live with themselves being like that if I know I have hurt someone without realizing I will cry over it for Days and I will ask for them to forgive me

The rating system is nothing more than a waste of server space & server rsources. Quite a few were against this rating system, because it is open to abuse. In one of crash's discussions, he pointed out that it does get corrected when it gets abused, but it seems nothing more than a lie. Their ignoring the demands to get rid of this waste of resources, as well as other issues, such as answering why someone was banned or a guideline-compliant discussion was deleted shows that the site isn't run by admins & moderators, but idiots & nincompoops.

Rant away all you want gabs, I love to hear them because you speak the truth always my dear friend.
I don't know why these people bother to comment on discussions where they attack people; why don't they just leave that discussion alone? They need to get a life. We all have different opinions, and should be allowed to express them without fear of being attacked for them. It would be a very boring world if we all thought the same way, wouldn't it?

I have been watching and what really got me mad and I have been stewing on it for Days is that a lovely Member got banned and attacked on here because of who his Mum is and she is actually a sweet and loving Person and a Friend of mine
This Member came on here to take his mind of things as he is fighting cancer at his young age and then he got attacked and that has really upset me and yesterday I just had to get this out of my system when I saw so many good People being down rated

I know gabs and I have to say that I agree. Lots and lots of good people have been banned and it's very unfortunete that it's happened because of being different. Our world should be based on loving one another and accepting that we're all different and respect that. It's ok to agree to disagree.
Gabs, you're very strong to start this sort of discussion. I hope you have your helmet on dear, God only knows what kind of responses you're going to get. I hope they're respectful ones and I pray that they think about this and change their ways. We live in hope.

I eat away at it and I do not agree that People behave like this and the worse of it is that they just carry on when this Person has gone they start on the Friends or if they find out someone is related they make their Life hell, another lovely Sweet Friend was being abused here just because of who his Mum is and that really got to me and to be honest Sweetie they can come and attack me I really do not care anymore as that seems to brighten their Days
I watch and look and sit back for so long but then I have had enough and I let it out and if these sad People want to come after me for that ok no problem I might get upset and yes I might cry if it gets to tough but at least I have had my say and let them know what I think of them attacking People like that specially when they are sick and this is somewhere to be where you should be able to forget about things for a while and not be viciously attacked
