Hand me downs !! what do you think

The idea of hand-me-downs might not be so favorably received by children, but by adults it is great. It keeps perfectly 'good' clothes from going to waste -- but I favor the idea of passing them around to friend's families. That way, no one goes to school knowing they are wearing their brother or sister's hand-me-downs. It can be taken as a sign of poverty and a reason for kids to tease and taunt. But, then again, I guess there is no stopping kids from finding ways to be mean.

Hello dear ersmommy. I am very happy that I do not have to worry about where my used clothes would go because my brother-in-law would not mind my giving him my clothes as most of mine are still in good condition when I give him. He is happy for those clothes I give him.

I like some hand me downs. they are ok. I had alot of those when I was growing up from my older sisters. It saved my mom alot of money also. I have a few hand me downs right now but not much. I do hand some of my things down to my daughter though.

i wear a lot of hand-me-downs. usually house clothes. we have relatives in California that sends us old clothes once in a while and often there are lots of pretty clothes there that are reusable. sometimes there would be pretty clothes too that can be used in going out. its really nice because we can't buy those kinds of clothes here. i've also given hand-me-downs to a lot of my relatives. and i'm planning to give out more because my closet is getting crowded day by day.

My daughter gets some hand me downs from her cousin. She also wears her brothers old t-shirts that he has outgrown to run around the house in. When I was a kid I got some hand me downs from cousins. My sister is 9 1/2 years older than me, so I didn't get any of her stuff.

I think hand me downs are awesome. My opinions is why go and spend tons of money on sumn they are going to out grow in a matter of months or just get mud all over. My oldest boy is 10 and its getting harder to find clothes for him that are hand me downs cuz they wear them out so fast. So its getting more expensive to shop for him, plus he is getting picky about what he wears. Be grateful for hand me downs while you can.

My son is an only and has a boy cousin so we get lots of hand me downs! He's the youngest in the family, so I have no one to give them to, but someday we might have another so I'm saving the clothes for that.

In my family we hand down everything. There's hand me down shoes, cloths, uniforms,bags etc.I've passed down all of my children stuff and received lots of stuff, sometimes some of the things i gave comes right back to me.Lets just say there is never a need for anything in my family.

My kids are grown now, but my daughter has 2 younger brothers. The boys had pants with no back pockets due to me ripping off the girl designs. lol Hand-me-downs keep a lot of kids in clothing!
