Scamp and his new friend

Proof is in the picture - That is Pong under Oliver, if that isn't good tempered I don't know what is!

Now, I know my long time friends know I have too many cats. And, inspite of my best efforts, I do have favorites. Now, without a doubt, my most favorite cat is Scamp. Some of you have heard me call him my "kinky boy" and "Scardy Scamp." He's never had any other kitty friends since Marco died 6 years ago because of his bad heart. Just lately, tho, he's made friends with Pong. I couldn't ask for a better friend for him than Pong either. He's been getting licks from Timus, my "licky boy" and Scamp has dished a few licks himself to a few cats, but lately he's been getting groomed by Pong and sleeping beside him. I'm so glad he's finally gotten a new friend, one that is so even tempered as Pong. Of course, he's still not sure about all the other cats that call Pong their friends too, he tollerates Timus and Ping, but only to a point. So, do any of your cats/dogs have special friends? Are they anti-social like Scamp? Or are they just nice easy going pets like Pong?

Lil' Bear is my anti-social cat out of the 3. She just doesn't care about Simba and Tigger. My other 2, however, have become best of friends and do everything together, specially the plotting of revenge against their mom. lol If Domingo would get off his high horse, Tigger would love nothing more than to cuddle between his paws to sleep. But nooooooo..Dom hates having any of the cats near him when he's laying down.

Probably the only down side of Pong making friends with other cats - besides Timus - is that Ping doesn't like it. If he smells to many other cats on Pong he'll get mad and slap him.

They are brothers after all, I don't call them the "Wonder Twins" just because they are orange cats... They are the only related cats we have in the household.

Fluffdaddy is the only cat child at this time. He does have a dog brother named Beau. He is very even tempered as a cat also. Brother Beau is always chasing, rolling him around on the floor, and trying to bite his tail. Fluffdaddy takes all of this torment in stride. His only retalilation is to get up on a chair and take an occasional swat at Beau as he walks by. You are just as likely to find them sleeping in a sunspot together as "fighting."

That must be nice. Scamp is not impressed with the dogs. He does mostly ignore them.

Lucky you, some of my cats like the dogs, other's don't. Booboo and Gabby like Zoe the dog, but others kind of the cats either don't care much for her or actually don't like her. Even the ones that like that dog, don't pay much attention to the other dogs because they don't pay attention to them.

Some cats just don't take to new cats well. Sometimes they will warm up to a kitten better than an older cat tho.

That is so sweet. I bet they get into mischief together too!

Actually, Pong has always acted older than his years and while Scamp is pretty spry at 10, he's too afraid to get into trouble. They are a good match actually since they are both pretty quiet boys. Rygel is the mischief maker, he's got too much energy and curiousity by half!

I'm sorry, but how can you have 'too many' cats?!! My maximum at one stage I think was 8, although I just have two now. My parents also had 8 cats at that stage too, and I used to buy the food for all 16 plus Mum's friend's cats all in one go because i got a bulk discount like that. I used to drive away from the cat food place with the rear bumper of my car just about scraping the ground :-) In answer to your question, my two cats play happily outdoors together but I think I've mentioned before that once they are indoors they turn into hissing grwling monsters to each other. They are far better friends with the dogs once they're indoors. One likes to rub her face along the dog's face, and I just thing it's so sweet when she has to go up on her hind legs to do so.

When I had inside/outside cats, Briar was fine for the other cats outside, but inside she was picked on. Now, Booboo and Gabby like the dogs the best. Oliver and Solo, both raised with our dogs, don't like them much at all. Or, as we say, Solo hissed at the dog at 4 days and his opinion hasn't changed.

oh wow! you have so many cats! where do they stay? inside the house. personally, i can't stand cats. i would rather have dogs. i think they are more friendly than cats. but i guess, to each his own. hehe anyway, it is nice to have pets. but i can't really take care of one now. so i just play with my parents' dogs whenever i get to go home. good day to you! :) God bless you!

you either have to walk dogs or let them in and out, I prefer cats I do love them, and they are good bed warmers in the winter

Moomin is a fairly solitary cat, he has three brothers in the area and they all pick on him so he tends to stay clear of the cats around here. He's attempted to make friends with a little black cat from up the road but was soundly rebuffed and fled back into the house. Scamp is a little love :-)

Sir Scamp-a-lot - My Scamper boy
Scamp is my crazy cat - he's one of the 4 black cats, and the only male. And I love him.

That is great that Scamp has a ner friend and that it makes you happy too. My dog is easy going but he is also jealous of other dogs if we have them around. He does not like to be friendly with them but he will not be mean to them either. We can't have more than one pet because the other pets drive him crazy LOL, especially if they want to play. He gets annoyed and grouchy LOL.

Wilbur is really anti-social with other animals. Once a pug dog came over to my house from across the street and Wilbur went over to sniff him, and I tried to pet the dog, he ran off to another house. I was disappointed but Wilbur was being what we call now "the senior man." He is the cat of the house since our dog Jake passed away.

That is such a sweet story! I'm sorry you lot Teaya, but 25 is a good old age and I'm sure she was ready to go on. That Mystque came and comforted and warmed her on her way is so touching. Some cats are just more sensitive than anyone can believe. I'm glad she gets along with the others, its hard when you have pets that don't like one another.
