What is the best position for you to read?

I like to read on my sofa. I need to read now, but my Mam is downstairs being picky, so no reading on the sofa for me.

The best position for me is that which does not give me enough opportunity to dose off just a few minutes after I have started reading nor does that which stresses me out. I think I'd prefer sitting over a soft couch.

Reading in bed is very comfortable and can put you in such a good mood that falling asleep is a doddle. So long as the book does not put any bad thoughts in ones mind then the bed has to be one of the best positions to be in whilst reading a good novel. Have a great day from Deeeky

Used to sit on chair, but hardly now... what I do now is to lie on the bed with my stomach and read. I never lie on my back though... I think my stomach's size is reduced because of that... lol

Me too actually. I like propping up a few pillows, and lying on the bed reading a good book. It's always fun to curl up with a good book, and believe me that is something that I have not done in some time. I may actually take time to do that this weekend. Now to go and find a good book.

If I am so engorsed into any book, I have never bothered about what position I am in. I just want to complete the book so I dont mind sitting in the kitchen chair to read the book while cooking dishes for the family. But when I am relaxed, I just prefer lying down in bed with two pillows proped up or just lie down in the sofa and read the book.

I prefer laying in my bed to read, but I can read just about anywhere.

It is most comfortable to read sitting on a comfortable couch where it is well-lighted and quiet. Since our living room is lit by dim lights I do not usually stay there to read. The most common place for me to be reading is on my bed, but it is really not the best place to read though it is comfortable because I tend to feel sleepy when I read on my bed. That also explains why I can hardly finish reading a book.

I prefer in bed or on the sofa... or in a recliner or easy chair... or just anywhere where I can stretch out into a really comfortable position as I contort myself into awkward positions a lot. I am not quite sure why it relaxes me but for some reason it relieves any stress I feel quite well.

I also love reading on the bed, just before I go to sleep. But a good seat in a quiet air-conditioned library would be fine.

I do read in bed but I am never able to do it comfortably as I have to have one hand and arm out holding the book and I can't lie down flat to read so I have to use a lot of pillows, but still don't get the right angle to read comfortably. I prefer to sit in a comfortable chair so I can read with the book on my lap and I don't have to support the weight of it.

Sometimes in bed [before going to sleep] or at a comfortable chair with a table where the dictionary and my notebook lay. Yeah, i took down notes like quotes, important lines, anything that caught my eye! :D

Depends actually .. If I'm fully energetic, then I just keep strolling and read, or else, its always the chair. If I'm damn tired and still want to read, then I lay down on my belly, with the book on the pillow and get going.. Well thats the case when I'm reading a novel. If I'm reading a text or something else related to studies, then its always upright in the chair.. bourne

I like to read on my bed on a rainy day but on a gorgeous sunny day, I'll read outdoors while sunbathing.

I read while lying down.. a pillow propped on my head and lying on my side... SOmetimes, I sit in one of our garden chairs in the afternoon and read with my feet up casually.

I like to be laid back in my recliner.

I have always preferred to read in bed. Especially with the tv on, and snacks nearby.

In my lazy boy but i can read pretty much everywhere, be it on a train or in the bathroom.

I like to read outside in my comfortable patio chair. Of course in the winter that is pretty tough to do so I like to read in my lazy boy recliner. I dislike reading in bed because I can never hold the book in a position that is comfortable. See Yah Jen

I like to read in my bed with a nice big pillow behind my back. I can rarely be found without a book. When I go out with my mom sometimes, I bring a book to read when she runs into get stuff at our suppliers (my dad builds computers from home). I also like to sit with a book in the tub & just soak for a while! Very relaxing!!
