The plastic ones to me dont seem to last as long as the cloth ones. And plastic seems to curl. What do you think?

I think the plastics mouse pads are the best!! its very smooth, and keeps the condition of my mouse good! I think the cloth mouse pad, destroys very easily,it also absorbs germs or dirts, which could effect my optical mouse.

I like the cloth ones best, though the cloth tends to peel back, revealing whatever the underside is made out of, which I guess isn't ideal, but it's better than the whole thing breaking. :P

Everything has to wear out sometime-LOL We have 4 people using this computer. So things get spilled, crumbs, germs, sweat-they take alot of abuse before you need a new one-LOL

The Mouse Mat I use is plastic topped, with a sponge backing. I don't have any trouble with either curling or slipping. I find them very good, in fact. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Thankfully I don't have to use a mouse pad anymore b/c I have an optical mouse. However when I did have one it was the cloth type and I decorated it myself. I still have it even if I don't use it. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

If memory serves me (since it's packed away) it was a cloth covered one with a yellow smiley face in the center. I redesigned the smiley face with a sharp tip Sharpee to give it a half and half face (one half was good and smiling and the other side was evil with fangs and horns LOL I added my last name in decorative letters, did a few other little doodles to it and it turned out very nice looking. When I got my optical mouse I couldn't bear to throw out my work of art so I just tucked it away. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I am not sure... I went for one that had a pretty picture on it... and that picture is now curling on one end. The picture appeared to be on cloth and appeared to be pasted on toa material that I think of as rubber like.

It sounds like plastic. Cloth ones are thin. Does that help?

Curling up is common with plastic. Try a cloth one next time

I like the one I'm using right now: the bare table top. It works for me. I don't like the way that a mousepad keeps shifting around. My optical mouse works perfectly on my desk so I don't really see a reason to go out and get a mousepad.

With the rubber backing mine doesnt move around. You wouldnt need a mouse pad.

Sounds like you need to do some cleaning-LOL But I can understand ours gets cluttered too. My mouse sits next to the keyboard so there is no room for anything else-lol

Maybe a new mousepad wouldn't move around on my desk but the point that I still don't need one stands. My desk is full of useless junk so I just tend to use my mouse where I can. I feel a mousepad would just get in the way.

Plastic is too slippery for my choosy mouse, so I prefer the cloth one, the downside is I tend to clean my mouse often.

I dont currently use a mousepad because, I have a laptop, but when I use someone elses or used to have a desktop I've found that the plastic ones are easier for the mouse to move. I think they just get to stuck on the cloth ones Have a good day today!

Ive never had my mouse get stuck. Although when it is time to clean it it can be hard to move.

I always used a plastic mouse mat,and never a cloth one,but I now use a laptop so no mat needed, but the laptop mouse takes some getting used to at first,it seems to go everywhere but where you want it to go.You dont say which one that you prefer to use?

I prefer a cloth mouse pad, although they do seem to want to peel after long use. But, right now, I am using my wireless mouse on wood where I have my laptop sitting, and having no problem whatsoever. But, at my PC, I always use the cloth mouse pad.

I have a plastic mousepad that's got some padding or something in it to make it a little softer. I've had it for over two years and it's still working great. It's not even showing signs of wear! Plus, the nice-looking photographs of Germany on it are a nice bonus :)

You know that gets me thinking that alot of the cloth mouse pads seem basic in color and no pictures. Or maybe they have changed as I havent needed a new one for so long. Do you like Germany?

How is it more comfortable? The plastic one I had years ago was raised off the table a bit. My cloth one is flat.

I stop using mouse pad after replacing my trek ball mouse to optical mouse because optical mouse can operate almost any surface.

We have a track ball but I really dont like using it as when I use my thumb on the ball it never goes to the place I want it. I like playing with balls but not like that-LOL
