Just about everytime I go to Wal-Mart they have one of those little studio’s set up that you can have your kids pics taken at. We also get flyers from regular studios like the one at JCPenney’s and Sears…not to mention you can also opt to go to Olan Mills like my Dad always did though their a lot more costly. When kids start school they usually have school pics though they’re not all that great most of the time. I’m wondering how often you have your kid’s pics done? Once a year? Easter and Christmas? Birthdays? Every 3 months? A friend of mine up North takes her’s every 3 months. She even took her last baby straight from the hospital to JCPenney’s to have pics done. Personally, I don’t see that kids change all that much and to me every 6 months is enough until their school age and then once a year. With my Niece and Nephew I’m always snapping pics of them playing or stuff but other than that it’s school pics once a year. I don’t think I’d ever take a newborn to the stores…I’ve always heard that they are really susceptible to germs and that. By the way, the pic added is my pic taken when I was 5 by Olan Mills. It’s one of my favorites. How often do you have your kid’s pics taken professionally? Where do you normally go? Would you take a new born out for pics? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Wal-Mart runs such great deals and you get tons of pictures--- so when my daughter was younger- I took her about 3 times a year--- now she is in sports and school- I pay enough for pictures of her- Plus I use the digital camera for pictures too- We use a professional photographer for family pictures- not the Wal-Mart studios. I have a friend who takes her son every month- he isn't even 1 yet- LOL

When my niece was little we went to Sears for the first few years and then we switched over to Wal-Mart. They had the best deals and we were always happy with the pictures we got from them. We usually get them once a year but of course her first year we had some at three and six months as well. We also make sure to get the collage each time so we have this nice set of her. I like also that I can have them put on CD so they are easy to share. I wouldn't take a baby that was under a week old but after that I don't see the problem. The more they are exposed to the better. It helps to build up their immunity. If they aren't exposed to them at all it makes it harder when they are older since they don't have the antibodies in their systems.

I took pictures of my son because I enjoyed seeing him in pictures, it had on bearing on whether he looks changed or not, and I would never say every six months or so. I was when I felt like taken pictures. Now the pictures from sears photographer I only did it once because even though they were not that expensive they were still expensive for me.

The last set of pictures I had porfessionally done was at WalMart when my son was 2 and a half years old. They came out so good. The best one I can say I enjoy is he's laying on his stomach w/ his hands under his chin w/ the look of "I didn't do it" it's so cute. We had alot of poses done of him. I want to get pictures done of him and I.

When my kids were little we got pictures from the hospital when they were born. Then we got them at about 2 months, 6 months, year, 18 months and then about every year until they went to school and then I got school pictue packs. We also tried to get Christmas pictures to give to the grandparents. These days I rarely get pictures of our grandkids. My younger daughter gave us a Christmas one of her, husband and kids. My other daughter cant seem to be bothered although I have hinted, begged etc. I realize it is expensive now. We used to get pictures at Sears or the special offers at K-Mart, etc.

For the first year of his life, I had pictures taken every three months because they change so much in that time. Now I do them twice a year, during the month of his birthday and around 6 months later. I'm sure that as he gets older I will go to having it done just once a year. My husband has a pretty great camera and we take a lot of our own pictures as well. I love my pictures!!

Well when my daughters were growing up money was tighter than it is even now, so I didn't get them taken but maybe once a year. For my grand daughter who was born in September, she had her pictures taken while still in the hospital by a friend of mine who is a professional photographer. She has since had her pictures taken several times since then, and one time my daughter had her pictures taken at JC Penney and another time at Walmart. I of course have a decent digital now and have snapped pictures everytime I get a chance.

When my son was little I took him every 2 months to get his picture taken. That lasted about a year. My daughter is 15 months old and she has only had hers taken professionally once, but I have a digital camera that I use to snap pictures all the time now. I did not have that when my son was a baby.

No I would not take a newborn for pics. I am with you on the whole germ side of life. Though I must admit the whole professional photos doesn't do much for me. I think they are so overpriced. I have however taken my girls a total of 3 times. Once each when they were about 7 months and then once again together. I only go when they offer really cheap specials or discounts and give you one for free! I take lots of photos of them at home and think the natural snaps are better

I had one child only and he was born after we had been married for 13 yrs, so, as YOu can imagine, I took a picture every time he took a breath.. I have been scrapbooking lately and am up to 5 albums now.. But we did get the school pics, the holiday pics, the birthday pics, the summer swimming in my new pool pics, going to the mountains pics, and going to the beach pics.. We also had to get double prints of every one of them, so I have been in overload with the pictures.. I have finallly finished all of my scrapbooking up the the age of 16 and then he gets married.. Now I have almost 800 pics on the computer to go through and pick out which one I want printed, I have about 100 of a retreat that they had went to before they got married, about 100 of their wedding reception, and another 500 or 600 hundred taken by his new wife's family and put on my computer so I can choose which ones that I would like to keep for myself.. I think that I am going go get a memory stick, download all of the pictures from my computer to it and just keep it on the coffee table, like we used to keep the old photo albums.. Maybe I will get them all caught up before I have grandkids and have to start all over.. Have a great day..

I usually just take them once a year. I take so many pictures that I don't see the need to spend a lot of money on professional ones more than that. The ones I take usually turn out better than the professional ones anyway.

I really should round up all of us and get a new family photo taken.. since it's been years! When my kids were in school and got the school pictures every years, I never bothered.. but now, we really do need an update. May have to take it ourselves thought as getting us all to go somewhere and have it taken..? Not easy to do!

I have a nice digital camera so I just take my own pictures im too cheap to pay for them anymore. With prices going up on everything you gotta cut things out. I got my cam and printer so I can print as many as I want too. Plus with the internet now family can log on to see pics anywhere.

We used to take family pics every Christmas to give out to our family in the cards. Since our daughter started school, we now just buy the school pics.

When my kids were babies, I took them every three months. Once they hit school age, I bought just the school pictures and then one of all of them at Christmas. Now that they are all in school, I go just buy the school pictures and the digitals that I take myself~ which are usually the best in the bunch.

I still love to take pictures of my two boy even if they are 21 and 16 ,but they don't seem to enjoy that much anymore ha ha. I think one year in between is good enough.

As much as I want to have profesional photos done of my sone more often I cand as it is way too expencive. He is 5 years old and he has had 3 done so far. I love photos and I always take photos of him and always have a camera with me. For gods sake they charged us $80 for 4 little photos last time. They take so many and for the whole lot it was $7000 that is as much as a good car (used).
