To put it simply... I have a mouth infection which I don't seem to be able to get ride off. I cannot get a doctor appointment for a week to prescribe me some anti-biotics. That's the problem with living in the bush. No doctors. So... I need you to come up with a home remedy to get ride off the infection. If you don't... I'll die and you will miss me.

Are you sure it's an infection? Try taking B12 tablets till you can get to a doctor...and fruits. How can you tell it's an infection?

Yes I am sure... And it is going to require more than fruits. I need something antiseptic.

Have you tried antibiotics, or even a special mouth infection spray that you can get from the chemist or local supermarket in the first aid section

Ummm, hello, whiskey is most certainly antiseptic! I hope you grabbed yourself a bottle in the interim! I know you posted this 2 months ago and surely the infection is gone by now, but for future reference... I read somewhere that anytime there is healing going on in the body vitamin c is present. Therefore, I keep powdered vitamin c on hand always. I order it online. It clears up and prevents the perpetual ear infections my dog used to get. I had an tooth abscess once that had my whole face swollen to gigantic proportions - people were telling me I needed to get to the dentist and get some antibiotics because my life was at stake. I ignored them. I had some vitamin c powder on the way and I knew it would clear it up immediately. It did. It took about 3 days of massive doses and my neighbors were talking about miracles.

Yes... the whiskey did the trick... It was rather an enjoyable cure... lol But thanks for the tip about vitamin C. Today I have a new problem. I never get sick... but last night I was. I think my gall bladder is packing up. Oh well... it had to happen since I got a year older... again... early this week. lol

I LOVE hot toddies made with whiskey, lemon juice and honey. I used to wish I would get a cold so I could have a good excuse to drink them, but I never get colds so I finally had to just start using 'winter' as an excuse to drink them, hehehe. You're gall bladder is packing up? Is it moving back to France without you?

Thyme is really good for mouth/throat infections as it is an antiseptic and an analgesic. Make an infusion with one teaspoon and hot water, leave to brew for ten minutes and then strain and use as a mouthwash. Salt is good as well for this. I can't guarnatee it will cure the mouth infection but it should make it less painful and take some of the infection away. Let me know if it works as I use thyme for sore throats and it works well for that.

Ok first what kind of mouth infection is it? a canker sore, cold sore, fever blister,? any of those you can just take some salt and water and use it as a gargle or a few days and it should help it. Anything that is like oozing draining type stuff that you will have to see a doctor. I hope it get's better soon that sound painful good luck take care. :)

Oh! It was painful alright... I had an abcess. But not as painful as pulling the tooth out without treating the infection. The infection started again two days later... and that's when I posted this question. I went through three weeks of hell with this.

gargle with salt water. it's going to hurt if you have ulcer-like thing or open wound in your mouth but salt water works for lots of things (i never thought you could die from a mouth infection. hehe)
