yes I said it. Grandpa Bob hates his hair. So what do I do? HAHAHA! yeah I shaved my head bald once again for the heat and humidity due to arrive in Minnesota this summer and fall. I shave my head myself as I hate the costs of barbers and shops etc. I do not need a styling or gels or anything along the line of haircare and or beauty products. Okay I could use some "beauty" products but thats a whole other discussons. So do you use a lot of haircare products be it gel, moouse, hair spray, colroing, shampoos etc? How much do you spend on the average for a months worth of hair care including cuts/styles etc/ Me about $5 for electricity, water, and soap. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Looking good Grandpa Bob! I like it! As for me, I color my hair. It is naturally very light blonde and I color it brown. I used to get it done at a salon but, that was about $150 and, that is way too much. And, that didn't include tip. Forget that! I can buy a box of hair color for between $5 and $10 and color it myself, of have my neighbor do it for me. Much cheaper. Granted, I don't get the highlights but, who needs those? I don't! And, since my natural hair color had natural highlights, I think that my brown hair retains some of those but, I don't really know. LOL! As for shampoo and conditioner, I get the huge economy sized bottle of it and, while I may have to replace the shampoo one every 8 months, I have yet to replace my conditioner and, I have had that for about a year and a half or more. As far as styling products go, I use something that tames friz and, I bought a bottle of it about 3 or 4 years ago and, I am only about a little more than halfway through that bottle. And, I have a mousse like product that I bought almost a year ago and, I still haven't had to replace that either. I also use a little bit of hairspray on my bangs and, I might have to replace that once a year, give or take some. I don't use much of it at all so, it tends to last a little while. As for haircuts, it has been a while since my last one and I really need to go. I trim my own bangs but, I have to have someone else cut my hair for me and that can be pricey. Somewhere around $50 and $70. The last time I got it cut was the last time I got it professionally colored so, I can't remember how much the cut itself is. LOL! Maybe I should shave my head too and then I wouldn't need to buy any products or spend any money on my noggin! LOL!

Well thanks bunches. You aren't too bad looking yourslef. My wife has never been to a salon and never will at the prices they charge. That's what my wife does is buy her own boxed hair and does it at home stinking up thewhole place. My wife uses some type of anti frizz spray or gel I am not sure which. She doesn't spend a lot totally though. Nahhh don't shave it just yet. Wait till we meet then Minnie can hold ya down while I shave it. HAHAHAHA! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thank you! And, I can't blame your wife! Sheesh! They charge out the wazoo to color your hair at a salon! I don't get how they can justify their prices! But, it is convenient to have someone else do it so, I get that some people are willing to pay for the convenience. And, it seems that the roots last longer when done at a salon but, I am still not willing to pay $300 inside each 3 month period of time to have someone do what I can do for between $5 and $10. LOL! So, it's a deal. I'll wait until Minnie holds me down and you shave my head!

I dont spend a lot of money on my hair. I shampoo and condition it, and leave it dry. I dont even use a blow dryer cause it seems to dry out my hair. I dont get my hair cut to often maybe 2 inches off the ends every 6 months. It would cost me around $30.00 every 6 months. this includes the shampp and conditioner.

I use the cheap stuff, Suave or VO5. I also use hair spray thats it. I don't do anything special with my hair. I mostly pull it back in a pony tail.

Im not much for doing my hair. I wash it and most of the time throw it up in a pony tail. Every once in a while I will blow dry it and leave it down. My hair is SO thick and straight I can't hardly do anything with it. I do have some hair products, some hair spray and such. Ive had the forever I am sure that they are probably not any good anymore LOL

LOL I wish I could get Niall to cut his too as it is such a mess right now but can't force an 'almost 15' year old to do anything! I don't spend much on my hair and I don't use a lot of products! I have long hair so I need decent shampoo and conditioner but I buy extra when it is on special! lol I also use a leave in conditioning cream but one little bottle does me for months so I guess I am lucky! xxx

I really do like your new hair do. Makes me want one like that also. When I went through chemo therapy and lost all of my hair I didn't mind it at all and hated turbans and wigs. I like my hair short, the shorter the better. I do not use things on my hair, just shampoo and water and let it dry on it's own. In my younger days I did do what they at that time called "frost" my hair ever so often. I get my hair cut about every 3 months and am due for one now and I will see how short they can cut it for me and still look like a female. haha As for the cost, not sure how much I spend a month on water and shampoo but it does cost 15.00 when I get it cut.

My mom also looked this way and loved it when she went through chemo. My wife still syes here about every other month. I tell her to just let it be as graying is natural and it looks decent anyhow. But no she needs that $10 hair dye and it stinks the whole house up as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Nice doo Grandpa! I love the cut, you're just getting better looking. My hair is a big pain in the butt, it's very fine and thin. I spend way too much on products that will supposedly make it lustrous and full like the gals on the commercials. Maybe I should give myself a haircut like you. HMMMM

Howdy Grandpa Bob. My hair is so rebellious so I usually use conditioner to control it. I go to the barber to get it cut short. He gives good hair cuts and it cuts about seven dollars. I was thinking about shaving my head but I don't think I would look good like that. I love short hair, though. Have a wonderful day, Grandpa Bob. Pablo

You look great! I didn't know you had hair, you're always wearing that pointy cap! I don't use anything on my hair. It's salt and pepper now and I like it that way. I'm letting it grow out a little--my last haircut was at Walmart and never again!! She practically scalped me and I looked awful. It's the beauty salon from now on. No mousse or gel for me, I won't have a haircut that I can't wash, brush and ignore! Life's too short to mess with hair.

Up until dad moved in with me my hair was shoulder length or longer. I have had it as long as reaching to my waist many moons ago. Yeah I am a throw back hippy from the 70's. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That's exactly what my grandpa did when he's alive. But he go to the barbers to have his hair shaved. I seldom use the beauty products even though I am a girl. Just some gel from time to time. Partly because I don't have "style" or something. My mom just don't like that and I will avoid doing something special to my hair.

A Shave and A Haircut in Two Bits.... Well for me, I used to spend about $4.00 on shampoo and then (if you can count this) $7.00 for eyebrow waxing... ($14.00 if I Dragged a friend along, he always wanted it done too)... Bet you didn't think i'd know the jingle!

i hate my hair too. it is frizzy if there is even a little bit of humidity in the air and it stays that way all spring and all summer long. i usually wear my hair in a ponytail for that reason during these seasons as i just cannot do anything with it. having on my neck makes me hotter anyway during the summer. my hair is alot more ruley during winter months and i blow dry it straight and it stays that way without any gels or lotions. i use conditioner in the summer to help combat the frizziness but it really does not help all that much. i would love to have straight, shiny hair but that is not what i got so i work with what i have.

I buy a cheap hypoallergenic body soap from "family dollar" that costs $1.50 and can be used as a shampoo.. so minus electricity costs, I'd say a buck fifty.. as opposed to my daughter who probably rings in at about $20.00..

My hair is curly and very frizzy. It started thinning when I was in college and still thin. Fortunately because of the curl it has enough body I can kind of cover it. I don't use much other than shampoo and conditioner and hairspray on the bangs. Sometimes I use a detangler.

As a woman I don't think I could get away with the bald look. I usually wash, condition, and use a little hairspray. Nothing too fancy. Or too expensive. I get my hair cut every 3 months or so. If we have a coupon for a product we use it. I don't think we go overboard with hair products.

Hey Bob! I did the same yesterday. Just got the old clippers down from a box where they had been gathering dust and plonked them in the missus' hand. 'Do yer worst,' I said and by Jove, she did. There is now officially more hair on a hen's egg than my head and for travelling round for work and all that stuff it suits me fine. My two daughters (30 and 18) were horrified but then they spend more time and money preening than Barry Manilow. Barber would have charged me about $12 US for that.

hi grandpa bob, i do shave my hair bald too, i like this hairstyle, ive been wearing this look since i was 15, i dont know how much i spent on it, but it is very little, the good thing about having a shaven head is its low maintenance, sometimes i dont even shampoo
