Free gas. How long would you wait in line and for how much?

A new bank in our small town is having it's grand opening and, as a promotion, they were offering free gas vouchers at the gas station next door yesterday, starting at 8:00AM. At first we were pretty excited! Then we saw it mentioned on the news so we started thinking that we'd probably have to get in line at around 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning since out of towners would be showing up thanks to those blabber mouth newscasters. THEN someone told us how much the voucers were going to be worth. $20.00. Less than 5 gallons since we're up to $4.09 a gallon here. I'm not getting up two hours early, sitting in a long line and going to work late for that and a free cup of coffee. According to some friends who drive through town on their way to work the lines were there and they were long. So, would you get up early and sit in line for free gas? What's the minimum amount of money you'd do it for and how long would you be willing to sit in line?

20.00 in gas would have filled up my little honda but it also depends on how long i had to sit there to wait for that free gas. How much gas would i burn while i was waiting.

it would depend on where the gas station was in relation to my home, if it was in the same village i would go by and check it out, if only a few cars waiting i sure would wait for free gas, but if it would be over an hour wait, not worth it to me!

All I want to know is WHERE IS THIS AT??? why you want to hide this because I don't mind receiving no voucher and getting some gas for my car although at present my car is down and suprisingly have a full tank on it.

That depends on a number of factors: what I had to do that day. What the weather was like, If anyone was at home to take care of my dog. If there was any thing to do besides sit in the car, If I was sure I wasn't going to get up to the front of the line and they were out of vouchers. Answer is I'm not sure. maybe 2 or 3 hours.

For less than five gallons? It sounds like a long wait. I could be doing something else with my time, I guess. Also, gas was predicted to go over four dollars here today. I heard that everyone was going around last night filling every tank and gas tank (if it wasn't going to go over four dollars today, I bet it is now). I must say, the prices of gas is getting ridiculous. If I was a neighbor to the gas station, and I had a gas can or two, I might go ahead and go. :)

I would not get up really early and sit in line all morning for a $20 gas voucher. If it was maybe $50 or even $100 I might be tempted to do it though.
