Do you spend money on yourself for no reason?

Have you ever bought a ridiculously overpriced handbag or item that you really didn't need? Do you like spending money on yourself, even when you don't really need anything new? When I was much younger, I could afford to spend money on myself frivalously. I wish that were still true. Just now, I was browsing through one of my favorite beauty and fashion magazines and saw a gorgeous pair of high heels for $395. They were spectacular. Just ten years ago, I would have plunked down that much money without a second thought. Not anymore. Of course, I know that if I purchased them (assuming I had any money), I'd never actually wear them anywhere. And, they'd collect dust in my closet. But, I do like the idea of spending money on smaller pleasures like bath and body items or magazines or clothes. Even though I could live without a closet full of clothes, it's nice not to look like a mom on occasion. Do you often spend money on yourself for things you like?

It is very rare that I spend money on myself, I was only thinking the other week that I would not mind having some new make up. But I always seem to find that there is something else I have to buy instead. I have never been able to spend money on myself, I have been a mum since being 18 so I have never had any money. I think that if I was given, or won a ruck of money just for me I still would not spend it. I am just not used to having money I would not know what to do with it if I had it too spend! Recently the most I have treated myself to is this week when I bought myself a choccie bar that I fancied for a treat.

You might try ELF cosmetics. I love their lipgloss. They are only a dollar each and good quality. Mineral Girlz has a nice line of products suited for women of all ages. Very affordable too. The mineral make up won't settle into fine lines and won't irritate sensitive or acne prone skin. Looks very natural. It's one of the only brands that I use.

Sad to say, I'm the same way! I've had to curb my spending and devote the money to family. Money well spent, though!

Sometimes, I buy things I dont need really but things I like. Later I can make use of it. But there is something wrong with me, if I dont have money, meaning just enough I used to buy things that I like, but when I have the money as if I dont want to spend, how strange you will tell me. Sorry for the late comment.

I only spend money on myself when I have the money or I find a really good deal. Sometimes I just do it because I haven't bought something in such a really long time that I feel like i need to buy something just for me. Even if it something cheap or small. I think I am more of a saver than a spender.

About 15 years ago, I overspent on a pair of jeans for myself. They were of regular denim with one faded red back pocket and a faded green back pocket. I think the brand name was Zuni or Zumi. Could have even been Zena. I'm not real positive about that though. I think I spent like $72.00 for them. That is the most I have ever spent for any piece of clothing.

I rarely buy myself something at all let alone just because I felt like buying it. Before I had kids I would buy myself stuff just for the heck of it all the time.

I am a bit opposite of you. Up till the last few months, I haven't been able to spend much money on myself because I couldn't afford to. But now that I am able to work again and I am making good money by cleaning houses, my daughter and I opened a business, I have money to spend on myself and I am enjoying doing it. I am not talking about buying frivorous things but I have gone out and bought myself a lot of little things I have needed. Like new under wear and bras and new jeans and shorts and tops, things that I needed badly especially now that I have lost 30 pounds. I will be needing a lot more new things in the coming months and so I will be buying myself a lot more things. In time I will have what I need and can start buying things that are more frivorous.

Yes I do, within reason as I am on a limited budget but as everyone forgets my birthday I always buy myself something that I really want. I do not spend a lot of money but I do get something that I want and need and forgive myself at once.

I'm much more likely to spend frivolously when it comes to books rather than clothing. Or even computer bits and pieces i love technology Its fun to play with. I HATE clothes shopping I'm content to buy from a thrift store or have second hand clothing. I could NEVER justify spending a ton of money on clothing..(i hate spending more than 25 dollars on shoes even!)

Yeah, sometimes i spend some money on chocolate or drinks with out celebrating something, just because i want and feel the mood for them. I try to keep those expenses to a minimum since i have a girlfriend though - i prefer spending the money on something we both use (even if it is still chocolate )
