Pharmacy Deliveries?

My pharmacy deliveryman just dropped off my prescriptions for the month and it caused me to wonder how many of my friends here on myLot use such a service. I have used this service for more than 13 years off and on. It is so convenient and I have come to rely on them because they keep up with what I need better than I can myself. So just how many of you have your medicines delivered or would like to?

I don't personally use any medication right now. I have a friend who does though. she has the medication delivered right to her door. I doubt if I could ever get delivery to my home though because we live way out in the country. We cannot even get pizza delivered LOL. We live right off of the highway, but we live 15 miles from civilization, it seems.

It must really be traumatizing, stephcjh, to not be able to have pizza delivered to your door!I know how it can be because I used to live 10 miles outside of the city limits when I lived down south.

In the town that I used to live in, we had a lady that delivered medicines. When my Multiple Sclerosis was acting up, I used to use them all of the time. It definately helped me in my time of need. I think if it was availible in the town that I now lived, I would use the service. It sure is convenient.

I am thankful for them everyday, sherrir, because it is often hard to get where you need to go when you don't drive.

Hi Worldwise I do not get it delivered as they are only a 2 minute walk from me, but my Prescriptions get picked up from the Doctors so that I do not have to pick it up and then go to the Pharmacy to pick it up so I get the Prescription picked up from the Doctors which is easier

That sounds even better, gabs! I would love to be able to just bring my medicines home with me from the doctor's office.

I don't have the service; but i would like to know if it's cheaper having it delivered than going to the pharmacy or is it about the same. Do you have to pay for shipping and handleing?

I am on disability, twallace, and my insurance providers pay, but the service is available to anyone. I don't know what my out-of-pocket costs would be.

I also use a service provided my company that does mail order. They do it in a 3month supply. It seems to work well unless your in a bit of a crunch for money at the time.

I would like this type of service and would use it except I am not always home. Wouldn't want the meds to be left between the doors since it's so warm and wet these days. My mother-in-law use to have Walgreen's deliver her meds and all my meds are at Walgreen's but don't know if they deliver all over the area. She was in a residental apartment where the bulk of the residents are much older. Easy to deliver to many residents at the same time. If I was sick and needed delivery, it would be great.

The pharmacy I work for does deliveries..we service alot of retired people and those without the means to come into the store!!! We even shop for them ( ie: cards, gifts, wrapping holiday gifts..) it isn't exactly my job but I love it when the delivery girl is off and I get to go interact with these great folks!! So in keeping with answering your question..no, I don't use that service...but I AM that service at times!!! Do you have to pay for the service? We don't charge but we also have a limited area we go to.

No honey we don't use this service even though we know it is available! I had considered using this for my Grandma but she prefers to get to the Chemist (Pharmacy) herself when she can and when she can't we go for her. She says it helps keep her active and at the age of 84 she is very fit and active! She gets her medications every week but the come in a folder that has days and times marked out and blister packs with all the tablets she needs at each breakfast , lunch etc for every day. xxxx

Your grandma sounds like quite a go-getter, mummymo! I think it's wonderful when people who have reached that age can still maintain an active lifestyle.

I initially started using the service for the convenience, borgborg, but it has now become a necessity due to my disability.
