Few years back, probably 6 or 7, i had a major eye accident and had to undergo a surgery. One of my friends was with an iron rod and he threw it. Accidentally one end of it pierced over my left eye just below the eyebrow. It started bleeding profusely and i was totally blind then. After a few hours, my mom took me to an eye surgeon and he had to operate on it. Till now i dont have perfect vision but i can manage with the other functional eye. Have you ever had such painful experience where you had to undergo a surgery?

Yes, try when you have gastroinestinal problems! I had a very painful stomach ache as if someone stabbed my in the stomach. We went to the urgent medical center (VERY BAD MISTAKE ON MY PART!)...well we thought I just had some type of stomach virus (perhaps even maybe a ruptured apendix)...they did all this stuff and it just made everything worst! Finally we had to go to the hosptital via ambulance (another mistake on my part)...anyway we went to the hospital and I'm not sure what the hell the did. All I remember is that they put all this stuff in me and I was put out. I had surgery for a perforated (hole) in my small intestine (right where it connects to the stomach). Anyway it wasn't fun at all! I had to stay in the hospital for 8 days. The reason I say the urgent medical center wasn't a good decission because it was something serious that they really couldn't handle anyway (surgey) so we just wasted our time and money there. And the reason why I say the ambulance was a waste because it was so close from there (like 10 minutes) and they charged us nearly 500 USD for the ride (insurance covered it) so it was a waste....however I am not sure if I could have had my dad take me because I was in soooo much pain! When I was little I hit my eye with a rocket launcher (You know those ones they use for fireworks). It wasn't fun at all...and a girl scratched my eye in high school gym class...so those are the reason (I think) why I have a hard time seeing far away. Probabaly why I am a freak when it comes to putting things in my eyes (I hate it!) Have a nice day. Pablo

Sorry I mean the wooden end of the rocket thingy hit my eye. It was already spent and I picked it up to take it to the pile of the other ones and it hit my eye somehow. We had to go to the hospital for that. For the other time we went to our doctor which was nice. Have a nice day!

jade1986 oh yes I fell 2 years ago and smashed my left shoulder badly and was rushed per ambulance to the hospital where I had to have surgery to remove the crushed bones and put in plastic and steel shoulder joint replacement. It was painful yes, indeed and was costly but my insurance paid the whole thing, some86,000 dollars worth. wow and wow again. hope your eye gets better and better good luck and god bless.

Luckily, I never had a surgery due to accidents like that. I just had an appendectomy 3 months ago. I never suspected that I was suffering from appendicitis then until the surgeon told me that I need to have the surgery right away. I was having stomach pains for 4 days, and no medicine could ease the pain that I felt. So I decided on the 4th day to consult a doctor and they took my blood and urine sample for analysis. Although I was already in deep pain that I could hardly walk, I wished that the result of the laboratory test will say that I only have a U.T.I. and that I will just take medications and will be alright. I never wanted to experience a surgery. But unluckily, I was diagnosed with appendicitis. The surgeon thought that my appendix has raptured already and I have to be taken to the emergency room immediately. I was worried, I never knew what to do. So I just prayed that for His guidance and I will be alright after. And it did. Now, I'm fully recovered and doing fine. Have a great day!

Only surgeries I have had is a c-section and had all 4 of my wisdom teeth cut out. Thankfully both went very well and had no complications with either.

How awful! Thank goodness I have never had an experience like yours! I don't have good vision, but still I treasure my eyes and would be most upset if anything happened to them!

I had laser surgery on my lower back 15 yrs. ago for a huge ruptured disk. Gallbladder surgery about 4yrs. ago which was a very much emergeny being it exploded right when they took it out. Once I get ahead on my bills, I'm going to have a hysterectomy done because I have huge fibrods in my uterus that are causing me great pain and alot of blood loss every month.

Wow, thankfully I've never had anything that serious. The only major surgery (where I was completely knocked out) was my tubal ligation. I have had stitches twice. The first time I was in kindergarten and tripped over a desk leg. Hit my head on the corner of a desk. Blood was dripping all over the place and all the way to the nurse's office (I was crying so hard the teacher had to drag me there). 4 stitches. I remember they placed some cloth thing over my face (probably so I couldn't see what nasty looking tools they were using). But I was awake through the whole thing. At age 9 I was standing on a chair and fell off - hit my head on the edge of the counter. 4 stitches that time too. With my extraordinary klutziness, it's amazing I haven't needed anything serious done.

I have never really had to have emergency surgerythankfully but i did have a scheduled operation when i was 7 years old, i had my tonsils and adanoids removed. It was very painfull at the time and i remember vividly throwing up blood for days after the operation.

When I was about 10, friend of mine & I were sitting in a back seat of a car, his dad was taking us to the movies... We were hit by a drunk driver & make a long story short, I had to get a eye surgery done on my left eye... Piece of broken glass went into my left eye... Other than that, about 4 years ago, I had apendix taken out... Those were the only 2 surgery I've ever had...

Thats really scary. I have not undergone any such emergency operations. THank God. But the same thing happened to me too when i was small. My brother and i were playing in the sand and my brother had an iron rod with him. Suddenly the iron rod struck me in the eye. I dont remember it exactly but i have a scar on my left eyelid which reminds me of the incident.
