Hubby and I went to my parents to clean their house and boy did we!! lol We cleaned the kitchen, all three bathrooms, dusted the whole house, washed four loads of laundry - hung them out to dry and took them down, put them away, washed the pets bowls, cleaned the fish tank, vacuumed and scrubed the floors and laid the clean rugs down!! AND we helped both mom and dad fill out some forms for their new doctors. Mom was sooo happy to have a clean house once again! She says I've run myself ragged and I told her that I'm only doing what a daughter should which is helping her mom. Same thing she did when my grandmother was alive. No different. As for mom, she's not feeling good today at all. She fell in the bathroom and it seemed to have jarred her whole body. Dad was there but he couldn't catch her in time. She still has the pains in her side but she has an appointment with her doctor on Monday. We thought it was on Friday but someone had misread the appointment card but thankfully, mom had read it that morning and called me just in time for I was just about to leave to get her and take her to the appointment. Soooo that said, Monday it is and hopefully then we'll find out what is wrong with her. Please keep us all in your prayers!! And many thanks for being there for me and supporting me all the way!!

Thanks bella. The pain in her side, we don't know what's causing it for it was before her fall. We hope to know tomorrow when she finally sees the doctor. I did only what a daughter should do for their mother if they can, meaning if they get along with each other. I don't know if I could've a year and a half ago when we were fighting so terribly but it wasn't my doing though, she had a nasty streak in her and she made me the target and I just had enough and fought back. But now things are much much better in which I'm so grateful!!

Thanks... it did mean a lot to them. Mom can't do anything because she's recovering from a bad bad stroke. I don't mind helping at all and knowing it makes her feel good is all the more worth while. She has this pain in her side but doesn't know for sure what it is and tomorrow she's finally seeing the doctor. Now I've got MY house to clean now....

Does gabs need a good spanking? If only I were close by, I'd give you one!! lol Now stop all that cleaning and go lay down so you can heal correctly. I'm sure you don't want to end up in the hospital again nor do you want a relapse. Mom's wrist is what hurts the most but I think her body hurts too from the fall, all except for the pain in her side. We'll find out tomorrow what's wrong with her.

Good for you! I bet doing all those things just meant the world to them! I appreciate it when someone does things for me. Yesterday my daughter in law came and put together a futon for me and it took all afternoon...so I know how your parents feel! I'll add you to my prayers!

Mine was the complete and total opposite however she's gone now, may God rest her soul.

Sounds like you really have done your best - good on you! Doesn't it feel great to give back some to your mum after all she has done for you, looking after you as baby and all. Although, it does sound like you have done an exceptional cleaning job - might have to get you to come over my place! Your poor mum falling over in the bathroom - its a slippery hard place. Maybe if you get some bruise cream to bring any bruises out faster it will ease some of her pain. Also you could try a heat pack for her muscle aches and pains. I shall keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well at her appointment on monday and they will find something to stop her pains in her side. May God be with you.

Wow you have been a busy pair! I bet you are both worn out but it is lovely how you have been there for your mum like you have, and your Dad. I hope that all goes OK for your Mum at the docs on Monday. xx

Hi Tammy, if you consider my cat my son then you're so right!! Yes he got hit and who ever it was, left him to die!! If you see my discussion about it, you'll see the sign I put in my front yard! I hope the dirt bag sees it and realizes what a mistake he/she made. Now the sign tells the cost of the vet bill!! $617.55!! I'll never see the light of day when it comes to credit this and credit that! ARG!! Everything is costing more and more and we, the consumer, are the ones suffering!

Awww mummymo!! lol I guess it comes from my childhood and all the hell I had to endure from the time I was 13 years old on up. Actually it started when I was 8 but it got much worse when I was 13 and I got strength to go on from years and years of hell. It made me a stronger person as well as more sensitive to others needs as well. Today went well for mom, she got the medications she needed so hopefully she'll be on the up and up from here.

It is good that you have done your part as a daughter. We are duty bound to look after our aged parents and it is by this example that we instill on our own children so that we will be taken care of when our time comes.

Well, I don't nessessarily feel duty bound because I love my parents very much and am willing to move Heaven and the Earth for them. However, it is the right thing to do for if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here. lol Hubby and I can't have children so we often wonder who will care for us in our old age. Time will tell. But I can wait. lol

hi CatsandDogs I am sending my prayers to you and your mom and dad and hope you can find out monday what is wrong with your mom. I hope too its something that can be helped at once so she will soon be out of pain. Its so nice of you and your hubby to clean your moms home for her, and I know she really appreciated it too. Falls at our age are so scary. two years ago I fell, firt time ever, and broke, no smashed is a better word, my left shoulder. a stupid trip and fall and my life was changed forever as I had to have surgery to take out the broken smashed bones and put in a shoulder joint replacement, they teased me calling me the bionic woman, but actually it wasnt that funny as I still do not have full use of my left arm. no no fun at all. my best wishes. good luck and God bless. hatley

Oh Hatley! Dang sweetie!! I know just what you mean too for I've fallen on my shoulder too a few years ago when I was in Arkansas and that hurts like hello!! My arm was in a sling for two weeks but luckily I didn't break anything. All I knew was my leg went one way and the other went the other way and it was either my hip or my shoulder and since I already had hip problems I chose my shoulder and dang that hurt!! I can't imagine being in your shoes and breaking it!! I think "they" were trying to make light of your situation by calling you the bionic woman to make you smile, not to make fun of you but, of course, it fell flat. I'm sorry sweetie. I just started another discussion a second ago and I might get kicked off of here because we're having an awfully bad storm. My lights are going off and on and flickering so if I don't come back on here, it's because I had to go back to my parents in the morning. Mom fell again. I'm so worn out.
