Who went to see Wall*E this weekend?

I took my son today. We both really enjoyed the movie. The message it sent was pretty frightening, because it's definitely a very real possibility - as far as what we are doing to the planet. As we walked out I was watching all the plastic, etc. go into the trash bin and just had to shake my head. I had an eerie feeling walking out into that mall full of people buzzing around everywhere, too! Wow!

I haven't gone to see it yet. I actually have a date to go see it this upcoming weekend. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I've got a feeling I will enjoy it as well. Hopefully I can post a better responce after I see it next week. I'm glad to hear I'm going to see a good movie though.

I saw the movie today with my friend and worker. In a weird way it reminded me of Terminator and the Matrix. The world was basically run by machines and we humans are either slaves (in the Matrix and Terminator) or pets (in Wall-e). I hope all the socio-political commentary wasn't lost on the more mature audience members.

You weren't the only one, I can assure you. I can very well see that happening to the human race, being exiled to space, and still doing the same things that make it a hell right here to this very day. And especially the communication devices with the screen pressed to the face. That reminded me of today's cell phone users, always talking with the piece in the ear, blissfully unaware of what is around them. Though a few are entertaining when they are arguing with their relationship partner, but totally inappropriate when they start using bad language with a crowd about. I always wondered what happens to such a person when their battery (and their spares) run out. The obesity is another issue ("Oh, we have a gym?") ... as well as the captain not able to operate a book ... It is not my favorite, though. It is tied for third with Finding Nemo. 2nd place is Ratatouille. 1st place is still Oliver!, the musical from 1968.

I was going to start this very same discussion on Monday but had too much work to do! I agree, the movie was very entertaining. My 3 kids and I enjoyed it alot. And yes, the messages are very sobering. The environment as as well as the state of human beings in the future. Both are very REAL possibilities that will come true if we don't start changing our habits - and drastically!

I watched it today, and I gotta say it's the best movie of the year. I still think Jumper comes in a close second, though.
