In my college days, I had joined the environment organizations in our university and we have so many activities about the 3R (reuse, recycle, reduce).. Me make 3 colorful trash cans (yellow- biodegradable; black- non-biodegradable; orange- recyclables) for school purposes.. We introduced the 3R for all students starting from kindergarten to college.. We went to their classrooms and give a short discussions about the 3R.. We also taught them on how to throw their garbage in the 3 trash cans we made.. To really pursue our projects of 3R, we make a program of SWM (solid waste management) wherein we will choose 3 sections from the NSTP (National Service Training Program) class (only freshman students are enrolled in this class).. The member of the envi-org will be the one to facilitate them.. We will train them on how to properly segregate their garbage and if they are already ready then we will let them go for house to house discussion.. They will discuss to each houses the proper segregation of garbage.. This program is really tired because you need to undergo many trainings.. But it is exciting and you will learn many things.. And also you will be able to value the importance of environment.. You will also be aware of what is really the problem in our environment...

I guess your doing something that would help us have a better environment. Good for you if you would do that. I am also thinking of ways to make recycling and make money out of it. There are those that are buying these certain types of trash to buy them and they will recycle it.

Hi metal_monkee! That is a very wonderful activity to do my dearest friend. I still recycle old newspapers, bottles and cartons. I guess, it has been instilled to me at such an early age. When I was still in school, the nuns always have these charitable programs that we, students do each year. We have newspaper fund drive and we get to knock at every houses on weekends with the supervision of the nuns and teachers in our school. The whole school is involved and at the end of our fund raising, we get to donate all the cash to different organizations especially to the Aetas. Take care and God Bless!

I think this is great. Way to go! I am glad that you have taken a proactive position on recycling. Keep up the good work. We do not have any recycling companies in our area that take anything but metal. This is a dissappointment. I wish that we had some so that I could do the same.

hi, i was surfing the internet for new ways to make money and at the same time help the environment that we as human beings are destroying and misusing everyday. So as you may have figured out your discussion has sparked my attention. SO i was wondering if you where kind enough to share what machines you are using to recycle you newspapers and plastics.

hello there, that is such a great deed my friend! congratulations for doing such a wonderful thing for our world. we do segregate stuff at home and i throw 'em on its designated bin, we have recycled bin in our compound so we just bring it there and the county will pick it up. it is advised here to do stuff like that coz it helps build a free energy and a cleaner environment as well. we also try to use recycled bags when we go shopping or reuse the plastic bags so they dont have to provide for it. i am glad that there are more and more people are doing such thing (recycling) and taking there part to do the right thing. i know there are some people in our country who do volunteer job to clean teh road every week and it is a nice one. i am hoping that my hubby and i can do the same thing once we are done with his hectic job sched so hopefully next month. anyway, keep it up and thanks for doing such wonderful act. takeacare

It is a good things and very usefull for our earth, now our surrounding is full of rubbish, but some of them can use the seconde time,it ont only can decrease the rubbish around us,but also can reless the waste of resources. in the past several decades,we lost a lot of things, and our world is more and more worse,we should do something to change this situation,we first should throw less garbage, then we should recycle the useful things. nowadays, our country has recognized this question,we have not advocated plastic bags, and now supermarks have not provided plastic bags. we hope that our environment can be even better from now on.

I decided to start recycling again. I have it in our garage ready to take to the recycling place, but haven't made it over there yet. I wish we had curbside recycling pickup!
