Do you eat one big meal or snack lots during the day?

I used to eat the big mega-meal every day. Most days I did not eat breakfast and lunch was light. These days I'm more likely to snack on bits of healthy food throughout the day. I don't like eating too much food at once. I don't really eat too many snacks. Just snack sized meals. Maybe something that would fit onto a saucer or even smaller than that. It helps speed up my metabolism and give me energy. How do you handle meal time in your house? Do you eat three nice sized meals daily? Do you eat five or six smaller snack size meals?

I eat maybe two to three meals a day. Sometimes I snack throughout the day as meals. Other times I usually have one. That's mostly due to the summer and I just don't get around to meals sometimes.

I find it very hard to eat a full sized meal as I have a very small appetite usually so I tend to snack as healthily as possible during the day - more for my own comfort and because I know I have to eat than anything else! xxx

I try to eat something every two to three hours, focusing on the healthy and portable for most of the time. If hubby is home we will eat lunch together, decent sized meal, and supper the same. I eat a good sized breakfast, then maybe a hundred calorie snack, like a few nuts or a cheese stick three hours later.

I should definitely get on board with breakfast. That's the only meal I can't seem to get around to making.

I am not really into snacks and therefore I only have those big meals throughout the day. I guess I ate too much snacks when I was small and therefore I sort of got tired of it. When I stay at home, I only eat around 2 meals a day and I wouldn't have any snacks.

I do try to stick to the healthy snacks though. Just smaller servings.

My eating habits are really bad lately. Sometimes I only eat once a day, and its usually a big meal to the point that I'm so stuffed I don't wanna move. Other days I can go a whole day without eating any meals at all, and just snacking here and ther eon small things like sunflower seeds or something my mom calls trail mix. Especially since I started smoking again, I seemed to have lost my appetite, and I don't get hungry as much.

Well I can't judge cause I do that too sometimes, with the big meal. Not so much anymore like I did before. But it happens.

I tend to do both really. Sometimes I'll eat a big meal and smaller meals and then do a bit of snacking. Other times I tend to eat smallers meals and then snack all the time. I can't really get around that sometimes though. Sometimes small meals is all I have to eat and then I have to find a few small things to snack on.

Definitely it's a time issue. Someone not on a confined schedule couldn't understand. There is simply not enough time to eat! At least on some days. I do get to eat entire meals on the weekends. It's really nice. But they are still smaller.

I eat small meals thru the day. I think it is better for me to do that then eat a lot all at once.

Best meal is at breakfast. We ate rice in the morning. At lunch time I ate sandwich or anything and even rice again. At dinner time not much of rice. But in between meals I have to eat some merienda meals, banana fried, bread and some other snacks.

I don't eat big meals until dinner time. I eat a small breakfast and then basically eat little snacks here and there and then dinner time, I'll go all out with something starchy and a vegtable and meat. I'm not much of a meat eater so it's more for my hubby than me but I do like the other things.

I snack and eat fairly big meals; well dinner anyway. I love to snack. I usually snack thoughout the day and dinner is my main meal. I also snack after dinner and into the night. I just hit 30 though and now I am scared that my lightening fast metabolism is going to start slowing down!

I don't eat really big meals or lots of meals a day. I have a protein shake in the morning and then a protein bar or a piece of fruit for lunch and then a supper with meat and vegetables and salad and in the evening I might have some ice cream or yogurt or fruit. I have cut out most of the carbs I was eating and I feel much healthier and my bowels are so much better.

I am a snacker, I would much rather just eat bits when I am hungry throughout the day. I do not have a large appetite and I have to be careful what I eat. This way it is much better for me.

Dear friend, I do eat both normal meals and snacks at times. But during office hours I would opt for meals during the noon and during breakfast I would prefere some snacks and during eveing too. Dinner I may have some fruits. But mostly I go for normal meals. Snacks are very rare and I do have it moslty during evening.

One major meal if I feel like it and then snacks during the day. No 3 meals a day though. Breakfast is a cup of coffee and that carries me through most of the day til I feel like I want to eat something.

I do some snacking thoughtout the day. It is really better than eating huges meals. Your digestive system does not have to work so hard when you are eating smaller meals. It is more enjoyable also.

I do both. It depends on how I feel. Big meals last you longer and snacks fill a gap. I know I'm wrong but I go by the feelings. Most days I have a big lunch. Many nights I go without dinner and I must put something in my mouth early in the morning. What I also do is try to make everything I eat something healthy. I stay away from fast foods and avoid milk because that makes me put on weight. Today I are just before lunch and then had a big lunch. I fell asleep at the lunch table. Right there in the restaurant. Nobody said anything. When the food was down a bit I just left.

I try to aim for more smaller meals each day. Its great (your right) for helping regulate your metabolism! This way of eating should generally help people loose weight if they eat good foods even if it does amount to more over the course of the day. It also helps take stress off of your stomach!

It is Doctor's advice that we have to eat little amounts of food at regular Intervals of time in the whole day rather than having Big meal at a time to maintain good Metabolism rate and also to have a Good Digestive system instead of developing gases in the Stomach. Similarly Sleeping more times a day in less amounts of time is Good than having a Big time sleep once a Day.
