What are the top 5 must buy in your list?...

Do you have a list of the things that you need to buy for your family... well, i do and here they are...
1. A new and bigger bed... i share a single size bed with my two year old... she is getting bigger and the bed seem to be getting smaller... aside for that the foam is quite soggy so it is killing my back...
2. A not so big but big enough dining table... we have two tables in the apartment which i want to get rid off... to save space and to make the apartment look a lot better...
3. A new sofa... the present one makes this creeking sound whenever someone sits on it... i am afraid it might fall apart anytime soon...
4. A pair of shoes... most of my shoes are worn out... and not presentable enough when i go out...
5. New slippers and shoes for my daughter... her feet are getting big... so she needs new ones... and fast...
Among the five... i can only afford numbers 4 and 5... and the rest would have to wait for a year or two... but i hope i will be able to buy them all soon...

Right now, I think I want to have 1. a bigger refrigerator 2. a 42"plasma TV 3. a mini bike for my son which will cost me $250 4. a nice decorated room for my son with a nice single bed, a wardrobe and a small playground for him (unfortunately he is too small for me to leave him alone in a room) 5. a smaller car to make it easier for me to drive to work and beat the traffic jam *laughs*
I am looking forward to buy a new fridge but my husband wants to buy a plasma TV first. My son is still sleeping in one room with us and maybe when he is a bit older, I will let him have his own room. By the way, these are not really things that I desperately need right now. And, when you talked about your shoes, I just realize that I have not buying any new shoes for quite a long time. The last pair was bought by my husband.

I desperately need to buy new shoes... and i think i will do that this Friday... my since there is only me and my baby living in the apartment... it is a must that we sleep in one room... that is why i also need to buy a bigger bed... she takes up most of the space... and the plasma tv for me... well i think after 10 years... thanks for the response...

i need a new bed too for my children. there old bed is screaming CHANGE lol. our tvneeds a change too for sometimes if it is on for the whole day the volume gets garglelish lol if you know what i mean. with clothes i really dont have problems for my sisters usually are the one buying for them even their footwear. my number three is i really love to have a oven or gas range so i think i only have three things on my list.... wait.... lol i also need a new DVD player of course to match a new tv. whahaha

We just bought a 24 inch tv last year... and that was because the old one broke down... my current dvd player is showing signs of retiring... so that is number 6 in my list... i just don't know when i will be able to accomplish all 5... thanks for the response...

I'm going to buy most of these things tomorrow as it's first of the month, when I have the most money ever at any point in the month.
1. new computer (no monitor)
2. New electric toothbrush
3. Scratching post for cat so he stops stretching inappropriate surfaces.
4. Boston Zine fair fee
5. Pay off debt

Good for you... at least you will be able to purchase all your must buy list... the first of the month is usually the time when we all have the money to buy the things that we need... and after that... we consider ourselves as poor... in my case... the top 3 in my list cost a lot... so i would have to save in order to buy them... thanks for the response...

Today I picked up my proscriptions. I need to keep on my meds. I have to buy a few groceries and pay some bills. We have enough clothes and my funiture is OK I do not need any more of that.

Good thing you had it all figured out... my rent is always due on the 15th of the month... but good thing my land lord is not very strict... i can always be a few days late... which i sometimes am... since my salary is also sometimes late...

July and August are lean months because my hubby works a part time job 10 months out of the year. This is the two months we do not get paid. I we cannot pay our house payment until I get my social security check next week. The house payment was due on the first. It is not officially late until the 16th they will get their money by then.

I would like a new bed as well. I really need one. I would also like some other stuff similar to your lists - it will come sooner or later, or I won't need it after awhile. It seems like the big expenditures are so hard to save up for. All the little necessities seem to take up all that weekly money coming in. I think I need to cut back even a little more if I want to save. I hope you get the shoes soon though - a priority for sure.

I agree with you... nowadays... it is getting more and more difficult to save even just a small amount... i would always find out after a week that i no longer have enough money to make it through the month... so we all need to prioritize what we really need to buy... i hope this world economic crisis will end soon... thanks for the response...

I may want to get a new pair of eyeglasses before I take my next driver's exam, and if the computer broke I'd surely need a new one. We bought a small dining table on sale 20 or 30 years ago and it is fine. When the mattress on our bed started getting lumpy we just put a memory foam pad over it. Like new! The mattress was rated for 10 years but we've be using it for over 20. We used to turn it around and over every month or two but we don't do that anymore. Every now and then we wear out the microwave oven. Every time we replace one I buy a smaller one. We don't have a sofa. They take up too much room. Besides I am at the computer most of the time anyway, lol.

I think i need to look for a memory foam... for sure they have some for sale at the duty free shop... that would temporarily solve my sleeping problem... although i really need to get a bigger bed... or another small one for my daughter... thanks for the response...

there rae many things taht are on my list if i had money.
i stikll can list them here.
1. I want to buy a nice shoe for me.
2. a good mobile is needed as i need to replace this.
3. a good mattress for my parents' bed
4. a cot to keep in ground floor
5. some calcium tablets for mom.

I am sure you will be able to purchase everything in your list in no time... maybe after two paydays... and i think you should prioritize the calcium tablets of you mom... that is very important especially for women who are of certain age... thanks for the response...

I have also several items which we are not thinking this time, since we have to prioritize our needs! LOL! But here is my list. 1. New sofa also, I like light and pastel colors and my husband got this gray sofa during his singleness..LOL! 2. new dining table, 4 sitters and I love to choose also the color, 3. laptop since I gave my laptop to my sister,4. outdoor chairs since we got an old one now 5. new additional fence!

hmm..lemme think.most of mine are house needs.
1.new front steps
2.new dishwasher (motor went out)
3.better lawnmower,it's a piece of

They are indeed quite expensive... and would take a long time to save for just one or two items... but nothing is impossible as long as we know how to budget and prioritize our earnings... i hope you will be able to buy them all soon... thanks for the response...

I live my life as a minimalist so I have very few possessions but I guess if I made a list of the top five "must buy" items, they would be:
1. Shoes for work (my old pair just got thrown out)
2. A couple of pairs of jeans (current ones are getting worn out)
3. European to UK plug converter (cannot use my Spanish head shaver until I get one)
4. Firewire cable (cannot start work on my DVD until I get one)
5. Sunglasses (old pair broke and summer's almost here)

A sony camera is a great thing... especially if you love taking photos and videos... but they can be very expensive... so you need to save up a lot... but i hope you will be able to get one soon... thanks for the response... welcome to mylot and i hope you enjoy your stay here...
