We are going to the Free Family film Festival this morning. Our local Regal theatres run it every Summer from June 6th to August 6th. Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10 am. You can go to a movie for free. Not just any movie, one that they pre select. But it gives your kids a chance to get the movie experience and not break the bank. We are seeing the Muppets Take Manhattan. Do you have something like this?

I've done that with my family at time or two. It is a neat little thing. The movie house, of course, also inspires kids to ask their parents to take them to the movie by doing so. Oh, and the kids might want popcorn and soda. Oh, and there are movie posters and previews which might capture the kid's attention... I guess I'm being a bit Cynical. Still, it is a nice thing to do and doesn't have to cost money if you get used to telling your kids 'no' when they ask for snacks. :)

Not where I live, but my sister in law was telling me about it. They have it at a theater by her. We were going to go one day when I was up visiting, but we did not get out of the house in time. I thought it would be the prefect chance to try my daughter out at the movies since she has never been to one.
