I am brand new in MyLot and this is my first discussion, I come to you guys to ask this: What was the biggest mistake ever that you saw in MyLot having to do with spelling? I am foreigner myself and I know that english is a very hard language and it is ok sometimes like their, they're, it's, its, etc. But I just saw DICTIONERY! How about you?

Since I was born and raised here and was spoon-fed English (expression) all my life, I have no problem with any of it. When I see someone who has misspelled a word in a comment or discussion, I let it go. I make mistakes myself. Most of the time it's typing fast and not stopping to spell check the typing. But what gets me is the fact there is spelling that is wrong on headers. In fact, I was just looking at one when I brought your message up. It is the only one that I've seen a word misspelled on so far. But it caught my eye the moment I saw it other day. If it is a person with lots of English knowledge, they should know how to spell 'connected'.

Mis-spelled words in the header would make it more difficult for the discussion to be found by the search function.

Yes M, english is a very hard language! I saw many english speakers not doing so well, so from that point on I just did not care much! Here you have people from all over the world and english is not their first language, but I agree with you that Dictionery is too much! hahahaha

I often commit that mistake, I'm using firefox which has an auto spell check but that didn't help much either, most of the time I have the correct spelled word but means differently with what I thought off. As they stated myLot users don't mind much the correctly of spelling or the gramar, as long as they could understand what is being ask then they will respond to it. Welcome to mylot Maask, hope you'll have a wonderful time here.

I'm in the U.S. and I don't worry about anyone else's spelling. I have a good friend who is a very poor typer so some of emails she sends to me take some time to figure out! There are many posters here for whom English is a second language and I believe that everyone is considerate of that. Enjoy posting!

i don't really focus on anyone's mispellings or mistypes. I sometimes make mistakes too. One or two times i realized my mistakes right after i posted but it was too late. If you've read mylot's guidelines, they remind you not to focus on grammar or similar mistakes of members' posting because there are a lot of members from all over the world and their native language is not English. I am one of them too and i never worry. And i like mylot best for being so considerate on this point. But one do make big progress picking up idomatic expressions posting here because you can talk to English native speakers and make friends with them. They are very nice and generous to help.
