I'm going to be having surgery on August 11 (Ladies only please)

I just wanted to ask all of my friends here on MyLot to remember me in prayer as I will be having surgery on August 11. It is a procedure I have had before but, unfortunately, will have to have again. My bladder has fallen and I am going to have to have it tacked back up. The problem has been getting worse over the past few months to the point that I have no choice but to have surgery again. I greatly appreciate all your prayers and I'll let you know when it is over with. Hugs to you all! SheliaLee

Hi Shelia, I said a prayer and will continue to pray for you. I am glad you have such a loving family there to help you out. I have heard alot of people say they had this surgery and have to have it done again.

Hi Lucy!! Yes, my family is wonderful to me and always have been. But I might not have had to have the surgery again if I had taken better care of myself. I'm just going to have to stop lifting so many heavy items and get my son to do more for me. He is a strong young man and will be a terrific help to me. :)

Prayers and hugs are in order and going out your way. I have a girlfriend that had the same surgery twice. The doctor told her it had to be done the second time because she went back to work to soon, so for goodness sake Take Care. God is good and you know that first hand, it'll be just fine my dear.

Thank you grandma! Yes, I am bad to try to do too much when it comes to getting things done and I don't want anybody to help me. You are right, I will have to take better care of myself after this is done and hopefully I won't have to have it done anymore. I have already told Amanda and Stuart, which they help me anyway, that I will have to depend on them more for a while after this is done. They are wonderful though as well as my husband so I will be well taken care of. GOD is GOOD all the time, all the time GOD is GOOD!!

I have had a friend from work have that done and she was out of work for a couple of months afterwards she was in her 60's. She would pick me up for work and we would ride into work together. One night while driveing to work she was telling me about it in the car and said she would be going in for the operation and would be out for a while. She was scared at first but after the procedure was all done she was glad but was sore from the operation for a while. I would be petrified if I found out this was happening to me and I'm a young 34 year old female. If you don't mind me asking what causes this to happen? this just sounds scary I hope everything goes well for you and I will keep you in my prayers. Try to get lots of rest and may you recover soon good luck to you.

Hi!! I'm sure it does sound scary. The problem usually starts after a woman has had children. I didn't have my first procedure done, though, until I had my hysterectomy back in 2001. I realized I needed something done because whenever I would have bronchitis the coughing would cause such a problem that I had to wear a sanitary napkin even if I weren't having my period. So when I had to have my hysterectomy I decided to get that taken care of too. Unfortunately, I am bad to lift things when I shouldn't that are too heavy becauase I don't like to get people to help me when I should. That is why the problem has happened again. But I have started making myself let people help me and I hope and pray I don't have to have this done again. My kids are grown and they are good to help bring in groceries and I'll have to have them doing even more for a while, but they are wonderful to help me out when I am sick anyway. Hopefully you won't ever have to have this done, just take care of yourself and remember not to lift a lot of heavy items. :) Thanks so much for responding!!

I'm so sorry SheliaLee. That sounds very complicated. How long will you be 'down' for? I hope your family is able to take care of you while you recover. I think from the sound of it, they will be waiting on you hand and foot since they love you so much! I'll keep you in my prayers!

Hi Amber! I'll probably have to be off work for a few days, depending on what my doctor says. Since I'm diabetic I hope he will keep in the hospital at least overnight. The last time I had it I couldn't drive for about six weeks. My husband is going to take off work for at least a couple of days and then Amanda will be here with me after that because she doesn't start her classes until the 18th of August. They are always wonderful to take care of me when I am sick so I know I'll be in good hands. My mother only lives a mile away from us also so she will help me if I need her to. Thanks so much for your prayers hon!!

I appreciate it. This happens usually after women have had children. If you have it once you will usually do okay as long as you don't lift anything heavy. That is the mistake I made. I started going back to lifting and carrying things that were heavier than I needed to. I won't make that mistake again. Thanks you so much for your prayers.

Yes, I will gladly keep you in my prayers during this time and that you have a speedy recovery as well. Prayer is powerful thing and all we have to do is ask and believe in these things as if they are so and then give praises and Glory to our Heavenly Father for these things when they come to pass. By the way, I found a great women only site that was shared with me from someone here at mylot. There isn't a earnings program to it. But the information and friendship that are built there can be more valuable than any earnings. You can check it out at www.emwomen.com When you sign up just put that I Terri Striegel referred you and that is a way they keep track of who is referring from where and who is joining from where. I don't earn anything. The reason I mention this site, there is a group there for prayer request. And you marking this as ladies only please made me think you might like this site too.

hi sheliaLee sorry to hear you have to have surgery on August 11, but send a ton of prayers that all goes well 'and you are soon up and doing things again. oh I went 'through that same surgery about three years ago and I was kept in the hospital just over night. Really not too bad as surgeries go. I recovered fully in about ten days time. but alas I was let go at my library job as my super felt I was too old, you know you are almost eighty. well so now i am retired. lol.

Hi There!! I expect my doctor will probably want me to stay at least overnight, especially since I am a diabetic. He might keep me longer, I'll just have to wait and see. I'm so sorry that they didn't let you keep your job after your surgery, that just plain old wasn't right!! I hope, though, that you are enjoying your retirement. :)

having worked in a hospital for 18 years (medical-surgical purchasing agent), i am very familiar with this procedure. i'm wondering if your last sling was the microvasive brand? they had problems with that one. anchoring is great and seems to work very well. the result of coming "loose" is annoying and embarrassing and makes you want to just stay at home. i will, of course, add you to my prayers list. please let me know how you are progressing and how you are feeling when you feel like chatting after the procedure. Blessings !
