I think it is just the opposite. If birth control is readily available for those that are sexually active, the abortion rates will drop dramatically. So will the unwanted pregnancies that are followed through with, but the child is not wanted. It will also drop the child abuse rates...people that aren't ready for parenthood have a higher chance of abusing their children, either through neglect or physically. Birth control should be readilly available to our teens, and others through health clinics and it should be free to those that can't afford to pay. If they can afford to pay for birth control, they certainly can't afford a baby. Abortion will drop when birth control is used.

Dear friend, I hope birth control is better than abortion. If birth control is taken in proper time much of problems on abortion and population and the economic status one is in to maintain one more child is much not affected. More over those unforeseen or unaccepted pregnancies and births too could be controlled as it is quoted "prevention is better than cure" Hence I feel birth control is much better than abortion and other unaccepted birth also if one is not prepared to maintain another person to their family.

I don't think birth control promotes abortion. It is supposed to help prevent women from becoming pregnant. Which means if a woman doesn't get pregnant then there is not a child to abort.

No. Birth control prevents you from becoming pregnant. Without a pregnancy, there is no baby to murder. I am against abortion, but I think more people should use birth control.

Hi welcome to myLOt! I think no. Abortion is very different from controlling. It's like your killing. Birth control on the other hand is a smart way of saying, "hey, it's hard these times, I don't wanna get pregnant! What will I give to my child?" Sort of like that.

birth control is not abortion. it only control pregnancy. abortion is the one that you have to forced labor the baby that is not due yet. that is killing and a sin. while birth control is a pills that helps control the pregnancy. specially if your not legally married or unwanted pregnancy.

No, it lets people avoid having children when they don't want to. Women throughout the centuries have used herbs to provide them with ways to control their fertility. Many people who use birth control would never have an abortion, like me, for example. The pill provides options, that's all!

I do not think that birth control promotes abortion. However, there are some types of birth control that actually cause sponataneous abortion, and women should be wary of these things. The IUD is one of these that will cause you to become 'not pregnant'. You can actually get pregnant with one of these devices in use, it only stops the baby from being able to attatch itself to the uterine wall because there is a foreign object in there that causes the baby to die, thus causing what they call 'spontaneous abortion'. There is also that 'morning after pill', I've heard different views on this but I believe that it in effect also causes spontaneous abortion. But...I think that normal birth control methods that actually keep one from getting pregnant is the best way for someone who just isn't ready yet.

I don't think so, birth control is a way to make couples family plan and thati helps not to kill babies.
