White Supremacists Hope Obama Wins to cause a White Backlash

And, so it begins. Certain factions in the White Supremacist movement are either certain Obama will win or hope that he will win in order to bolster their claims that whites have lost control of America. First of all, that they even think this SHOULD be a White nation is outrageously arrogant and ethnocentric. White Europeans may have wrested this land away from the natives, but that doesn't make it White, not by any measure I'm familiar with. White dominated, perhaps, but NOT White. Secondly, I find any sort of bigotry and ethnically-based hate to be some of the most loathsome mindsets in the world - almost on par with pedophilia, as far as I'm concerned. A most despicable way of thinking. The article bringing this topic to light is: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=3&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.washingtontimes.com%2Fnews%2F2008%2Faug%2F08%2Fwhite-supremacists-hope-obama-win-prompts-backl-1%2F&ei=IlWcSMzBEo_Sed6-zZwF&usg=AFQjCNEyrcS4y80JPEgZXkVb4iAN0j4Bwg&sig2=oMNlQqS6nS1JOCr4A15idg Now, there are some, even within their ranks, who think this idea of creating a backlash on the election of a man of color to the Presidency is merely a fantasy. But, the fact that a number of them do believe it combined with the fact that there are approximately 200,000 like-minded people in this country makes it a little unnerving. Especially given that they are raising their children to think just like them!! And this despite the fact that many claim to be devout Christians. Mind boggling!! So - what do you think? Do you think there will be a White uprising if Obama gets elected? I'm not saying you should or shouldn't vote for him. I don't care if you would or wouldn't vote for him. I'm only asking if you think Whites will revolt if he's elected and if you think his election would increase the status and membership numbers of the White Supremacist groups. Tell me what you think.

I don't think there will be a white backlash. There is no reason why one should do that. Obama wins and that's it. It would damage US credibility if Americans do that. I think Americans are not that bad :-)

I don't think that the election outcome should cause any uprising but one only knows what will happen. Most part of me says that they would never try anything on that level for the simple fact that several years ago a white supremacists showed up here in my city in an area that is probably 99% black. When the riot broke out over the "rally" the skinheads or whatever they call themselves were the first ones running for the police to protect them. So they are like all bullies, they don't like to be called out on or bullied themself. Bullies are such cowards.

Do people even listen to white supremacists anymore? I always thought the saner portion of the population just sort of looked the other way when they started spouting their nonsense. I don't think there will be an uprising. An majority of the population has gotten with the program, and don't see a black man in a position of power as a threat. Why should they? Anyone who goes into a white supremacist group during Obama's administration was probably going to join anyway, regardless of whether or not Obama made it to the white house.

No, I don't think there would be a white uprising if Obama was elected president and, when you look at it on a national level, 200,000 isn't such a large number in a country of this size. There are always going to be haters but people like them will never represent the majority in this country. The majority of Americans are reasonable people who think rationally.
