Have you ever seen/heard or used Solid Shampoo bars instead of the normal liquid sort? Lush do them, and i've seen them being sold by other companies too. They are bascially like a shampoo in solid form like soap, you wet your hair then rub the shampoo bar over your head to lather and rinse as usual. They are great for taking to the gym or when travelling becuae they don't leak and are also very economic. I love the Lush ones, i used one tonight in the shower. I think they work just as wel as traditional liquid shampoos, but some cheaper brands can be quite drying on the hair.

I love Lush solid shampoo bars. They smell great, are better for your hair, last much longer and they leave my hair feeling great. Not to mention they are easy to use, easy to transport, and when traveling they can double as soap and also make bubbles for a bubble bath. My favorite is Karma Komba.

Yes I do use solid shampoos and they are from LUSH too! I really love it because I feel that it cleans very well and it's very natural and it actually works better than the traditional liquid shampoo. I have been using New Solid Shampoo and Godiva one and they are both very good.

I have never heard of such a thing as bar shampoo. It isnt something I think I would use thou either. I dont like bar soap and I always buy body wash instead I hate the mess the bar makes when it is wet and layed down as it gets slimy and gunky.

I have! I always have one in my cupboard for things like pool outings or camping trips. I don't use them on a regular basis, because I haven't found one that takes care of my hair as well as the shampoo I use. When my cupboard bar starts shrinking, I'll try out a different formula, but I won't be using one as my every day shampoo until I find the right one. Etsy.com has a TON of great soapmakers, and a bunch of them make the shampoo bars. Might want to check it out if you're looking for an alternative to Lush!

I've never ever heard of them before. They sound like a good idea. I'd have to label them specifically or something, because my husband would probably mistake them for regular soap. hahaha

I have used shampoo bars in the past and I'm currently trying to get into the habit of using them again. I have not tried Lush. I have tried handmade ones from etsy and other online shops. They don't work all that well for me because they start building up in my hair, probably because our water is somewhat hard. I recently read that Lush has the same ingredients as commercial liquid shampoos (I have not read the ingredient list to verify this), if that's the case, that's probably why they are working just as well for you. It's been a year since this discussion was started, are they still working for you?

A lot of places sell these now, I have never used one but there is one that I am interested in and that is the tea tree one as it is apparently supposed to be excellent for keeping bugs out of kids hair. Better even than the liquid shampoo so it is worth getting it for me really.

Hi, hezoid. I have never heard of this before. I know that there are bar soaps that people can use to wash their hair in. It works the same as shampoo that is in a bottle.

Yep I have Lush's Ultimate Shine which has lasted four years and is still going. I also like New and Seanik, but I've sourced an SLS free option and am likely to stay with solid shampoos but move away from Lush. They work really well and are fabulous when traveling!

i've seen one being sold here in the philippines. as for that bar of shampoo being drying for the hair i think that thing that makes it solid is the culprit. that's why most shampoos come in liquid. maybe it's the same thing with soap and body washes. soaps are more drying on the skin, right?

Yes, I have used a few different solid shampoo bars over the years, mainly made by Lush. My favourite one is Trichomania by Lush, as I love its coconut smell. I also find them convenient to take on holiday or away with me, as like you say, they don't leak or make your bag messy like liquid shampoo can - also you should be able to take solid shampoos on planes too.

I don't recall ever seeing a solid shampoo like that but it would have it's good usefulness like you stated about traveling or the gym.

I actually saw the product last week for the first time. I was in Atlantic City at a mall and went into the lush store. I was really amazed with their products. They are rather expensive, I went to their website to look at it. I am anxious to try their products, when I get extra money, (big laugh) I want to try it. I like the idea of the solid shampoo, I guess you waste less shampoo when it is in a solid form instead of liquid.
