I really like going to craft fairs and bazar type events. It's amazing what kinds of things people make. On one occasion, I visited a booth that had really nice crocheted tote bags. Upon closer examination, this woman made tote bags out of the plastic bags you get at the grocery store. They were so cool. My favorite is always the jewelry booths. Sterling silver wires with beads... I love those. Do you like and/or make handmade items? What type?

Hello redkathy, I am not good at handcraft but I do admire people who are good at it. My ex-colleague is one of the good example. She can make a nice and eye catchy costume jewelries. I really envy her.

I love going to craft fairs. My church sponsors a craft fair once or twice a year depending on how many people are interested and how many people we get at the first one. I go to a flea market in Ohio every now and then and they have some hand made things there and they are really nice stuff.

I just made my first tote bag a few weeks ago. Silly me gave it to my sister for her birthday before I even took a picture of it. I am going to make more of them as soon as I get the supplies. I also make blankets. I crocheted a twin size blanket with a matching pillow case. It is in pastel colors, so it looks like a baby blanket. I will share a picture of it soon.

My First Twin Blankie - This is a picture of my first twin size blanket with a matching pillow cover. I like its uniqueness.
I found a picture of the blanket that I made with the matching pillow cover. This was the biggest blanket that I ever made. I wanted something in pastels,(my favorite colors)but since I could not find anything, I made this myself.

I have a handmade jewelry shop on Etsy (my shop name is CreationsbyRobin). I love etsy, it's been a lot of fun and I've learned so much about running a small part-time business. I enjoy worling with glass beads and sea glass in my jewelry creations and I also knit and work with polymer clay. Craft shows are a lot of fun and I'm doing a really cool one in Medford, NJ in October. It's called the Handmade Faire and there is going to be lots of Etsy members doing the show. Crafters that work with wood, paper, bath and beauty supplies, jewelry, knitters, quilters, bakers, etc, etc. The first Handmade Faire show was held this past spring and the variety of items were incredible. I didn't get to sell at the first show and I'm very excited to already be accepted for the October show (all the vendors will be wearing Halloween costumes ) It should be a lot of fun!

Sure, a review sounds like fun! My site's a bit decimated from recent sales and a couple items that have expired, but review away! I accepted your friend request. If you'd like to send me the link, I'll go and take a look!

I haven't been to a show in a while. Wish I could make this one but it's a bid too far to drive So you are a jewelry crafter - I would love to do a review of your site cause I just love handmade jewelry. One of my sites is dedicated to women's stuff. I would post your link in my review. Sound ok? And did you ever try link referral to promote your etsy site? It's free. I use it and have gotten some good traffic. Check it out if you like or I can send you a ref link. Have a great evening!

I enjoy craft fairs from time to time. I haven't been to one lately but I do like to buy things that are hand made. There is just something special about a hand crafted item. I find that handcrafts can be worth the money. Sometimes they can be better than just store bought. The jewelry that you are talking about sounds really nice and I would like to buy crafts of that nature. They are very pretty.

I was making jewerly but then I had Luann and well that went out the door. I enjoy craft fairs the fire hall has one once a year and I just love going and seeing all the things people come up with. I always get this insperation to try it then don't. I guess life gets in the way. Lately my creativity has been in scrapbooking. Plus a little sewing here and there. I did just make Luann a pillow.

Creativity is where it's at! You know I just love handmade stuff and I do know about life getting in the way. Of course I would love to have time to sew but it's that getting in the way thing! When I get some cash maybe I'll get to buy some of the stuff I can make and love so much!

i love handmade stuff,we have a shop in the town where i live that sells handmade stuff made by local people,he has some of my jewellery in there and some of my sisters baby clothes that she makes. Its so much more personal and you know that nobody was exploited to make it. I sell handmade jewellery for a living now and people seem to really like the unique element of it,as sometimes i will only make one of something,no one else will have another like it!
