I like reading about people's experiences in World War II. I have a book out of the library about a Soviet soldier and how he escaped from a concentration camp at the moment. I have been to that horrible place and I hope that history will not repeat itself. The book is called 'Escape From Auschwitz' and the author is Andrey Pogozhev. Have you ever read a true story? If so would you like to say something about it?

Books - Reading is Good
I am not an avid reader of books and newspapers. I get a headache whenever I read too much. But I like to read true stories especially success stories. I makes me feel encouraged to also strive and do my best to be successful in my trade. The last true story I read was not about success though. It was about the Oklahoma bombing where Tomothy McVeigh was convicted and charged for the crime. . Keep reading

I have read Ann Frank's Diary and that is very profound and quite horrific and very very sad and it inspired me to go and see the house in Amsterdam. It really has an affect on you especially when you visit the house. It was quite harrowing too knowing that she was actually found in the end and what she went through. I have also read David Pelzer's It about him being sadistically abused by his own mother and that he went through hell and came out without a bitter resentful thought and managed to forgive his mother for what she put him through, again profound and harrowing but very inspirational and lots to learn from it.

Yes, and I've read quite a bit about World War II myself. In fact, most of the books in my personal library are about World War II. One book I've read that is possibly the best book I've read yet about World War II is called GHOST SOLDIERS. If you saw the movie THE GREAT RAID, this is the book about the events the movie is based on. There are so many others about World War II that I've read that I'm not even going to try and mention any more of them here. What are some of the other WWII books you've read?

Oh, I forgot to mention this book, in my earlier post. "Rise and Fall of Third Rich" by William Sherer [pls check the spelling of 2nd name, its so long ago.] It's a historical book. Well researched. Has more footnotes than any other book on WW2. A German General who refused to obey order of Hitler and set fire to Paris. This is the subject matter of the book "Is Paris Burning?" by two other popular authors. Rise and Fall would give you a comprehensive idea of the whole picture of 2nd World War. Just imagine the plight of millions of families of all the waring nations. If you are a compassionate one, you may try Care2.com

Yup I have. I've read a book that is a compilation of letters from soldiers during the Vietnam War. Pretty powerful stuff. The most heartbreaking were the ones who wrote that they had a feeling they were going to die. Sure enough, they were KIA.
