Have you ever fell in love with someone you met in the chatroom?

Hi Dolce, I thought it was a happy ending already. Well, I started chatting when I was 1st year high school. Never in my wildest dreams to met and be inlove to a stranger whom I only met in a chatroom. I met lot of people already for how many years I have been in internet world. It was year 2005, a boring day and lead me to use YM which I am not fond of using it. I joined in a chatroom and all of those people in that room there was only one ym id that really made me curious. We chatted and became friends that fast. As times goes by we both realized that we're falling to each other. We became lovers, chatted, emails, call and text everyday. It was an on and off relationship. As what we know relationship with someone that you can only see on webcam and not in person is kind a hard to handle. Our relationship took almost 2 years before we decided to see each other in person. He traveled half of the world just to see me. That was our first meeting in person, we just spent 1week together but it was very worth it! We continued communicating, after more than a year of our personal meeting I left my homeland to be with him. Now, we are together and happily married.

Its good to know that you are still friends. I have met my partner through the chatroom too, well, it is as "romantic" as a seeing a person in real life. But of course, there are risk on that but relationships does have risks lol. Anyway, at this generation, chatting is one of the medium used to find and meet a soulmate.

I haven't. I met my husband 16 years ago and we have been married for 13 years now. I did not have the internet when we first met. We have only had it for about 8 years now. I have met some really nice people in chat rooms though.

I fell in love with someone from an mmorpg called Ragnarok online. Pretty hilarious to find out she was a beauty in real life. hehehe.

not in a chat room but in an online game. it's really weird cause we really just chat in-game and never see each other like in a webcam. but still i know i love that other person behind that character. we're always together leveling up our characters or just talk for hours in-game. when she's out of in-game time, i buy her time just so we could talk and have sometime together. and then one day we just ended it. cause it's really not gonna work out. it's also impossible for us to meet in person. in the end i'm not even sure if she's really a girl or just a pretending to be one. hehe.

No is when am getting into serious online discussion.

The only chat rooms I've found are too hard to understand...everyone talking at once...they already know each other and there is lots of smuttiness which I feel is inapropriate. How can you meet and fall in love with someone under the circumstances?

I have never fallen in love with anyone I met in the chatroom because I have already been married since I first used the Internet chat-room, so there is no need for me to look for love from online again. But for a single person to find someone online as his true love if possible, I think that it is a very exciting experience. Well, I have a colleague who got to know her spouse from chatting online. They finally got married and are now living and working in the capital city of China with a very happy life. I think that it is also very romantic to find an online love.

I got caught up in it once, and I don't chat anymore because of it. I think it is too easy for people to lie. It sounds like you had a pretty good experience though so would you do it again or do you still?

I met my hubby in the chatroom.We started as friends until our feelings were developed.After 4 years of friendship he came to my country and visited me.After a year we got married.Now we are very happy building our new family.

no, i never went to chatroom. i have boyfriend when i was in grade 2 in my university. since then i never close to any other boys, otherwise, my friend felt unhappy.

I play a game called EVE Online about a yr and a half ago i met this wonderfull man after about 6 months of playing the game and getting to know eachother in teamspeak and through chatting we met and we have been together ever since. Before this happend i use to laugh at ppl that said hey i met this great guy online lol. Im so glad i met him he is definatly the best person ive ever known.

yes i did. i met my husband online but we were chatting about different people that we love and we would send each other long emails telling each other sob stories. we were never attracted to each other online. i was at the province then and he was in manila. when i came back, he went to see me and everyday after that until we forgot about the people we've often talked about.

It wasn't exactly a chatroom. We met of a listserv for young women with disabilities. I really thought we had something going on. However, she decided she didn't want to date anyone who was still in the closet. I was 19 at the time and when I came out to my parents six months later she still didn't want to have anything to do with me so I don't know what her real reason was. I was pretty heartbroken for about four months. Then, of course, I met an actual girl which improved things tremendously so I guess in a way it's good it didn't work out.

Nope ! I find chatroom conversations so limited. I tried yahoo chatrooms and they were like - how do you talk here ? Know what I mean ? I guess I never got into the chatroom thing.

No i don't believe in falling in love with someone you never met and only chat with, i never understood how someone could fall in love with a person over the net, but i can definitely see how a person can form a strong friendship over the net but to totally fall in love and you never even seen the person and you dont know if they are who they say they are, i just dont know about that.

in my case i havent experience falling in love with someone i just met in the chatroom but i got a lot of friends who have girlfriends and boyfriends who they met online and some really works and some are not. got a friend who has a chatmate in europe and the guy really go out his way just to meet her in person and up to now they're still together and have plans of getting married soon.

Yes i fell in love with someone in the chatroom. In fact he is my husband. So falling in love with a person in a chatroom is possible. We are fortunate nowadays coz we can already meet interesting people online. Unlike before where in a person have no chance of meeting interesting people from different places.

i havent, i guess im not that good at chatting hehe, never get really far with girls on the net,i always find myself without something to write pretty fast sadly:S
