£2000 for a Perfume! What's the most you'd spend on a good perfume?

Ralph Lauren will soon be selling a £2000 per gold-plated bottle of female fragrance called 'LOVE' Apparently, it is an exclusive 'super premium' perfume which will appeal to big spenders or those with 'high spending power'.. At that price, I am thinking it had better be able to spray itself on me! I currently use J'adore by Dior which was a gift, Rose Essentielle by BVLGARI which I bought for about £35 and in the past I've used Pleasures which was a gift too. What's the most you ever spent on a fragrance or perfume? What's the most you'd be prepared to spend on a fragrance you like? Don't you think that's such a high price for a bottle of perfume? I am guessing it is aimed at the celebs and 'high profile' people but would you consider spending that sort of money on perfume?

Hmm, I love perfumes and the expensive one I've tried is from Lancome.. most of my perfumes are gifts from my friends and relatives so it means I seldom buy perfume..Have a great day!

Hi marina321, The bottle of perfume I got was a weeks ago my friend bought a bottle of perfume calle 'Stitch No 15' I don't know how much that was and I don't buy perfume fro my self I can't afford it and two years ago my husband bought aVictoria Beckham's perfume. I would spend £2000 on a bottle of perfume if I had that kind of money I could buy myself a whole wardrobe and pay all my bill up. Tamara

I am thinking I'd sort my bills out too! Plus I couldn't justify spending that sort of money on a bottle of perfume! Maybe if I was a celeb or something..pie in the sky

£2000 just for a bottle of perfume? gosh! that's are way too expensive. i will never spend such an amount on perfume itself. even if i do have that amount to spend away, i would rather spend it on some branded bags like LV, burberry, which i dont even owe one yet. i think this type of perfume will only be sold in limited edition, coz do we really think that people like us will be spending such money on perfume? i think only those billionaire, or maybe like what you said celebs that are able to spend such pricey stuff.

I suppose if there was a perfume I really loved I'd be willing to pay for it - but I'm not a great one for perfumes and don't recognise them or know what to choose. I've worn Coty Wild Musk Oil since I was about 17 - and find it's really hard to buy these days, but sometimes crops up. That's my favourite.

Yes, it's like an investment at that price! Wonder if they'd be giving away shares too..

Perhaps the gold plate is what makes up a large part of this price. I use old spice, I'm a guy, it costs here in Trinidad about US$ 12.00 and thats all I need. I think its better than most and it pleases me immensely.

Maybe it's because of the gold plate..if it's a few carats Have not heard of the one you use; good that it doesn't cost much

Hi marina, that's outrageous! I have always liked high priced fragrances. I used to by myself Pleasure by Estee Launder which you mentioned and that was $55.00 a bottle and I haven't bought any in about 5 years or so. Before that I bought Knowing, also by Estee Lauder for about the same price. I used to also like Georgio by Georio Armani, again up there in the same price range. I have a bottle or Amarige which was a gift and is about $65.00 a bottle or more. My Mom bought me a bottle of Escada which she got in a mall in Florida at a sale price and it usually goes for $95.00 a bottle. I am not working so I can't afford to buy any bottle of perfume expecially with my taste! It's almost my birthday and I told my boyfriend that I want a bottle of Dolce & Gabana Light Blue which I believe is about $45.00 for a small bottle of perfume. I'm not sure about the price, but I love the that perfume and have been wanting it for awhile now. When I was working I didn't mind spending $55.00 for a bottle of perfume especially because the good ones did last for awhile. Now I'm spoiled and have to do without. I haven't worn any for awhile and I hate going out without any perfume! I feel naked!

I don't spend a lot of money on perfume. I get Avon for 2 for $15.00. YOu can call me cheap but that is ok. That is to much to smell pretty. I would sooner have a nice steak or go out to a nice place to eat. Then spend alot of money on things like that.

If it is for a perfume I always want to choose the branded name like Dolce & Gabbana,Estee Lauder which is also "Pleasure for Men", Lacoste, MNG is also one of it. and the price is we bought it in KD Kuwaiti Dinar which is 3.3 dollar each of the KD and most of it are more than 30KD and up.........

If I like that perfume when I smell it, then I probably would buy it. I wouldn't normally think about spending more than £500 on perfume, but then again I think that everyone deserves a treat once in a while! I think I would want it in a fairly large bottle for that kind of price though! But we shall see and I will let you know.

That would be one massive 'small' treat! If I was to treat myself for that much, I'd go on a cruise instead

2000 pounds for a perfume?? That's far too expensive, unless it really has got a very nice scent and it's unique that all other perfumes dun have it.. If not, it will be a very high price to pay just for perfume.. hehe The most expensive perfume i have is JPG, which is a limited edition and costs about S$200+.. hehe ^_^ ANd luckily that's a gift from my fren, so it's fine for me.. lol =D But i will never spend so much on a perfume, unles it's limited edition too.. hehe

I don't think I could afford to spend 2K on perfume, limited edition or not! It would have to last for the rest of my life!

I love perfume, but I wouldn't spend a lot on it, I would be afraid to use it too much if it costs that much. I think I've spent about $30.00 on perfume one time, my favorite is Cool Water.

I would never spend that much money on perfume, unless I have lots and lots of money. I'd rather use a fresh cologne or just soap to have that natural smell. Natural is always the best, besides, I am allergic to heavy scents. Celebrities would no doubt buy the perfume. This is made for them, because they can pay much.
