Political implosion

Glen Beck on his show last evening stated he thinks the democratic party is imploding on itself, citing all the attacks and attempts to defend themselves in only the past two weeks. He says they have gotten off the issues and started the defenses and attacks on the other candidates and have thus become unfocused on what is important in the campaign. What is your take on this? Do you believe the democratic party is imploding?

I think that is probably a very accurate statement. They were caught off-guard when McCain named Palin as his VP and they haven't been able to get back on track since. they are playing defense and ignoring the offense.

Glen Beck usually has a pretty good take on politics. I think he made some interesting observations.

Imploding would imply they would cease to exist. Their problems are not that serious. They do have an implosion of their effective campaign to elect a democrat as President. Currently the previous very effective campaign has imploded. The democrats need to quickly build a new one. Attacking the other party's VP is just pathetic. It has (L)oser with a capital (L) written all over it.

I dunno...the attacks and defenses have been coming from both sides and the polls don't indicate any major change in public opinion. Glenn sometimes leans one way or another, depending on the day, so he's not my primary source of unbiased information.
