I am a huge fan of saving electricity any way that I can. So since Ike moved through and I guess Lowell we are now experiencing a cold front. So I have turned of the air and raised the windows. We are not having to use the air at al and I am super excited. I love the smell of fresh air and hearing nature at night. Plus the thought of saving money is great. So what about you? Do you like raising your windows or not?

I'm also into saving electricity rather than wasting electricity.. I'm always thinking of a way on how to save electricity.. That's window opening is one of the best way to save electricity a lot.. You save your electricity consumption by not opening your air con or electric fan.. At day time you don't need to open your fluorescent lamp because the sunlight can come into your house which can give you instant lights, you don't need to use electricity for that.. I admire people like you and those who respond on this discussion that love to save electricity too.. Keep up the good work... Happy mylotting....

I love the fresh air and natural light so I have it all open as often as possible! The saving of electricity doesnt hurt either that is for sure. The extra bonus is listening to the crickets and such and since I basically live in the country there alot of night sounds and to wake up to birds is amazing!

I love raising my windows. It has been getting cooler in the evenings here to, and I open my windows in the evening time and let the cool air in. In the afternoon I close all my windows up cause it still get warm out. I also turned off my AC and it sure helps on all those high bills I been paying all summer long.

I live with my windows open most of the year. Once winter comes though, my husband doesn't like to be cold so he makes me close them. We don't even have air conditioning in our home, so it's the windows or nothing. In the summer when it gets hot upstairs I just go down to the basement and and do things down there. I have to go back up to make meals, but we use the barbeque a lot in the summer.

I also like to look for ways to save electricity, you know, the more people the better. I always go around my house telling my brothers to unplug everything they don't use, like their cellphone chargers, the microwave, the fan, and many other devices. Anyways, sometimes I find myself preferring, just like you, the fresh outside air. Even more in the morning, when the sun has just raised ^^ breathing fills your lungs with natural clean air. So yes is a good thing to do since most of the day I stay at the streets in the city smelling the smog and all the bad stuff. I just find this annoying but, hey, it's caused by ourselves xD... so let's try to change it, save electricity and let's have cleaner air, kill two birds in one shot =D.

I don't have any issues with opening windows. In fact, I'd rather open windows instead of running the air conditioning when it's possible. I mean, it's natural, fresh air, so why not open the window when it's cool outside so you don't have to use the air? It saves money and energy. So it's a great win-win situation. One of my current roommates however just does not like the idea of opening windows for some odd reason. We live on the 5th floor of an apartment building and she seems to think that something will pop in through the window while she's sleeping. I can't figure out where she's getting that idea from because that just isn't going to happen.

Yes, i love the fresh air. But these days due to increase of population and pollution , one rarely gets a feel of fresh air all the time.Only in the early morning, late evening or at night one can get a feel of fresh air.But who knows whether air one is getting pure or not.

I also like to open windows. I like the air from outside coming in. Having it open definitely saves electricity. The air from outside is so fresh and keep my find fresh. I feel cold without having to open fan. Now it is raining session at my place. Therefore the air is always cold and freeze.

I do like raising the windows but in this tropical hothouse called Trinidad I must have my aircon. Without aircon I can't sleep nights. I feel hot and sweaty anytime I'm not in an aircon environment or unless I'm out in the open air. The buildings in Trinidad are not environment friendly so you sweat in them.

I love raising the windows especially after it has rained and the air has that really clean smell to it. We don't have air conditioning so in the summer the windows are always open unless it happens to be pouring but then the windows that aren't being pelted by the rain are open to get in some fresh air. There is nothing worse then walking into a home that hasn't been aired out in some time... starts to smell musty and just kind of gross in my opinion!

I love, love, love to sleep with the windows open in the spring and fall. Those crisp, cool nights sure make it easy to sleep. And it's so nice to let in some fresh air after spending three or four months with the ac or heater on. And who doesn't mind saving some money? Too bad I have to fight my husband about it. He says windows are just holes in the wall you throw your money out of. I would have no windows if he had his way while we were building.....LOL.

I would love to raise my window, but I have three kids and they are very loud. I live in an apartment complex and everyone would hear them. Also another thing that could be a problem is that I dont have any screens on my windows. So as much as I would love to have my windows down, I really cant. I wouldnt want to wake up with a bug in my mouth or something that would be nasty. DONT YOU THINK??

Hi bailey, Yea..we are doing that also to save as well as to have fresh air around the house! We started summer during and now since it's getting cold, we are not doing it anymore..Even without A/c or fan, we are still cold night time due to the change of temperature!

Good day... Raising windows are good as long as there are some screens to prevent mosquitoes from coming in. Specially in some parts of our country where dengue is endemic, we should be extra careful.

I am right there with you. As soon as I can turn that AC off I did it. I have all the windows open in the house. I also put a couple fans in some to help pull in the air and circulate it. Here at my house it is not seeing higher than 81 for the next couple days. The low last night was 62. So we are loving this. Have A great Wednesday!! Happy MyLotting!!
