Do you believe that tea has healing powers?

Awhile ago, I was surfing around Mylot and saw an ad for Bliss tea. I checked out the website and it sounds pretty good. Supposedly it helps lower blood pressure. And, that's a big deal for me. Hubby is on a low salt diet to lower his blood pressure, so I'm always looking for all natural ways to better health. Do you believe that tea has power to lower blood pressure? I don't mean ordinary black tea, but specialty teas? What do you think? And do you have any recommendations for types of teas that would be useful for that purpose?

I believe that anything has the power of healing, as long as the person taking it has faith that it's healing. Vitamin C and Zinc cure my sinus infections, if I catch it in time. Hot tea cures my stuffy nose, chest congestion and cough, if I hold my face over it and suck in the steam. Drinking it helps, too. Curing and keeping under control are different, depending on the sickness. My friend has diabetes and could control it with a good diet, but she won't change her eating habits. She is on weight watchers and she is losing weight, but she doesn't always stick to her points. She goes up and down daily with her illness. Some days she feels really good, and some days she can't get out of bed. I know she feels crappy on the days following a day of being waaay off her diet. People who don't want to get better, won't get better.

Sometimes a person's home life keeps them from losing weight, like a spouse who brings cookies into the house or a coworker who keeps sabotaging weight loss efforts by bringing donuts to work. None of us are Superman. Food temptations are everywhere, especially when you're hungry.

I think that teas can help out, but no more than food that have been touted as "healthy". I find a lot of the woman's teas with rose hips help out with regulation and cleaning.

I have been thinking about trying out some of the woman's tea blends too. But I didn't know which one was the best.

This is the one I use to drink: http://www.amazon.com/Traditional-Medicinals-Womens-Liberty-16-Count/dp/B000EJPDMW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1222836561&sr=1-5 As soon as we have some extra cash I am going to start buying it again. You don't have to buy it online, a lot of grocery stores carry the tea.

there are all kinds of healing properties in tea. I'm not sure what they all are, but there are many. I've heard a lot about this over the years. The national drink in Russia is TEA (not vodka) not just because of it's taste, but also for medicinal reasons, they say.

Potassium is good for high blood pressure and found naturally in bananas and orange juice. Both are low in sodium so we keep them stocked in our house.

I am not sure if I believe it or not, but it never hurts to try it out and see as long as it is not too expensive. I know they say green tea is supposed to be good for you.

And, all teas have antioxidants. Don't think coffee does. But I still love my perked coffee! They're right when they say, it's the best part of waking up!

Yes, tea derived from different plants carry many ayurvedic effects those help to heal our body from many diseases or defects. If you take tea made from basil leaves, it will arrest cold and its pains. In my opinion, the best tea is 'Brahmi-tea'. A fully ayurvedic igradient! It heals one's body in many aspects. Thanks for this nicr discussion!

Hello beauty queen. I believe so. There is some kind of tea in China that helps lower blood pressure, but I have no idea about its name. Tea has many different functions, I think. I love to drink tea, either black tea, white tea, or green tea. White tea is popular in my county and it is very expensive as it is a newly developed species of tea for its wonderful flavor. But in most case, I drink green tea more than other kinds of tea. Happy posting, dear beauty queen.

Herbal teas claim to have all sorts of special properties. I think that if you are looking for something specific you would be best to research the effect you are looking for and dry your own herbs though. That way, you will get the maximum effect from your tea herbs without all the other gunk they sometimes bung in. I think the biggest benefit to be gained from a cup of tea is stress relief. If you take five minutes out to sit somewhere and sip it peacefully, then that will certainly do you good, regardless of what sort of tea it is.

I do believe that different types of tea have different type of healing power. But i didn't do much research on them. My dear is better in this because he loves tea very much. If you need more information, you can do some research on the Chinese or Japanese sites which provide more information in teas. Happy myLotting!
