No joke. As soon as I've been on the computer for more than 15 minutes it starts to smell very strong, I don't know how to describe this very well. It smells of metal or something similar. If the PC in on for more than an hour it starts to get warm accompanied by the smell. Do you know what this is due to? Any help greatly appreciated.

There must be a wire that has burnt out. If you think it smells weird, you better turn off your computer and check where the smell coming from. TO make sure, contact a technician who is good with computers and let him check what could be wrong.

Have fan motor checked. If its really dirty it's not cooling computer correctly, and will eventually fry it. How often do you clean it, or have it cleaned?

I asked my technician to clean it when I had to have the computer checked because of a hardware problem a couple of months ago.

I think the thermal paste above the processor is heated up and is giving the strange smell.Call your computer engineer immediately and let him apply new thermal paste on the computer. The problem could also be if the smps is getting heated.
