I am a Government employee that means that my income tax is deducted automatically. There are professions who manage to evade tax very easily. If you had the chance do you evade income taX?

Well if you are an employee of a company you won't be able to evade taxes at all. Evading taxes are illegal by nature, avoiding taxes are acceptable though. what is the difference between the two is that evading is totally not paying taxes that are supposed to be taxed. Avoiding taxes are legal this just means you minimizing your taxes you are allowed by the government to deduct. I guess those profession that are not connected to any emploer since they control how they earn their money. Like Doctors for example they can easily hide some of their earning from their profession since they are the ones that collect their professional fees but they still have to pay for taxes because they are obliged to report their earnings or else the Internal revenue agents might took noticed of these if he/she does not declare any income earned for the year.

Our tax is deducted automatically also. However, with the recession and less money coming into the house because the government are taking more and more from people who can't afford it, then I think I would evade paying tax if it were possible. Then maybe not, because somebody who has even less than us, would probably have to pay more. It would be a very difficult decision to make.

No way! It's important to be honest, and avoid the penalties. Tax evasion is much more trouble than it is worth. Mind you, I was made to pay a rather large amount one year, and I thought it must have been a mistake, so I called my accountant, and he straightened it out for me. Everything was settled, and I didn't owe a thing. Turned out it WAS a mistake!

No, I wouldn't evade income taxes, I would be too scared to get in trouble for it. I'm on disability so I haven't had to file taxes, my husband and I file jointly every year, we wouldn't dream of trying to evade taxes, thats part of our responsibility for being American Citizens.

For employees like me the income tax is an unavoidable thing. It is automatically deducted by my Employer from my salary so there is now way for me to evade. Tax evasion thing is for businessmen and for self employed ones only.

Hi Roanldinu, over here, whether we are working in the private or public sectors, the companies have to follow the tax regulations, and deduct our taxes monthly. I wouldn't want to evade tax; it is just not worth the trouble. If anyone is caught, it's not only a matter of paying backtaxes and fines; they will search your history and background and make life truly miserable!

Hello my friend... Well, since I'm working in a company that pays it's tax every month, I have to as well. Lol. No choice. At least we don't have to go through the hassle of filing it on our own and risking the chance of forgetting to pay it. It's deducted every payday actually and that is twice a month.

I take that you mean it is by being self employed and having an accountant that is a wizaed that you can get away with paying a lot less income tax,but thats all well and good, you have to be very good at cooking the books to get away with anything like that for too long.I would imagine there are many companies and firms, small or large that would try to find a way around paying out too much in income tax.But there are certain expenses that can be offset against your income. You can do your tax returns online nowadays, they say if you are a small business that it pays to do them online, and it isnt as hard as you would think to fill the forms in either.

Hi ronaldinu, It is against the law to evade paying income tax, we have no choice but pay it, it comes out of our salery automatically, and if we are on benefits it still gets deducted automatically. Tamara

Hey ronaldinu, It would be nice to try but it sure wouldn't be worth it and in the end you would probably get caught and the trouble definitely wouldn't be fun! No, I always paid my taxes when I worked. They like yours were taken out by my employer automatically so I didn't have to even think about it. And when it came for April I would send whatever information that I needed to send to my accountant at the time and do whatever I was told to do and either pay or not depending on what I had made that particular year. I pretty much never got money back that's for sure which I could never understand because I am single and never made a large amount of money!

If I know all along that the government won't have any good use to it, I would prefer to evade it. There's no point of paying taxes when the government don't provide what is necessary for the people. It is stated there in the article of taxation that the people will pay taxes in return, the government will provide the people security. But the question is, is there a safe place we could roam around? Our country is not even progressing, instead its full of debts and increasing year after year, to think we paid what is required to us. It's like we're being fooled by our government. If only I could escape this damn taxes, I opted not to pay it. All ends are just the same, its never a progressive country after the hard work we put into it.

I have always been paying my tax as if we only look at benefiting ourself, then we would try anything out there to evade tax but if we look at our social responsibility to our country, we should be proud that we are able to pay tax. Just imagine of everybody decided not to pay tax, the government could go bust and in the end who will suffer? It is the people that would suffer regardless of whether you are eligible to pay tax or not. Anyway, that is just a matter of principal to me. Cheers!

My taxes are deducted from my paycheck so I have to pay. I also have a small income from my divorce that I have to pay taxes on and I'm behind in that but I'm making payments. I've saved all the check stubs and stuff from my online earnings and I'll declare that, too. I may be stupid but my Bible says, "Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's". Besides, my government is so quick to seize property of people like me that I want to keep on the good side of them. If I were rich, I wouldn't have to worry so much, as they tend to cut them a break.

i have always paid income tax every year that i have worked & that was 47 years. i don't see how people get by w/out it. they'd put me under the jail. i don't think it's fair that they let people get by w/out paying it.

No...the government can provide services because of our taxes. The more taxes we pay, the better the services they can give to people. However, due to corrupt officials, many professionals don't like to pay taxes at all since their money will not be put into good use. If we only have dedicated officials then I think people will be responsible to pay their taxes on the right amount and on the right time.

Hi there ronaldinu At the moment I am not working but if I was I would pay my income tax as it would be taken out automatically by my employer. That is why I am too scared to start up a business of my own because of all the red tape involved with your own business.
