we are in a age where man is divided on religious differences. each claim themselves to be the best, the right one and so on. each has its own set of rules and regulations to control the behaviour of its believers. some strict, some lenient. but each one has some kind of rules.
Of all the religions, which one do you feel or think is the Stupidest one?
And the Crown for the "Stupidest Religion goes to.........."
Lets decide which one is the lucky winner.

I typically respect all faiths, but I'll play... the only one I would consider "stupid" is Scientology, but only because I just don't get it. To be fair, I've never really looked into it that hard, all I know is it has something to do with aliens. And the followers kind of give me the creeps. But I would imagine there are non-radical Scientologists, they probably aren't as publicized!

Thanks Liz that was my answer! Now I have to be the follower! I think Scientology is stupid because it seems like a weird, made up thing about extra-terrestrial life or something, and Tom Cruise follows it and he is absolutely insane.

I don't know whether or not Scientology is stupid, but I don't understand how anyone can follow a religion developed by a science fiction writer. Then, again, there are many who think all religions are man made.

I wont judge any religion as "stupid" this is a very belittling word, and I am actually quite surprised that your discussion hasn't been deleted yet.
But, if I were to say a certain religion makes the least amount of sense, and I cannot fathom why people actually subscribe to it, I would say atheism. Those who believe there is nothing out there, that the world just happened, that faith means nothing...well they are either blind, deaf, or ignorant. And I don't say that to be judgmental, there is just so much that scientists and other researchers have tried to explain and prove, but end up with nothing. There has to be more than what we can see and hear with the tools attatched to our bodies. There's a lot more deapth than these individuals would like to believe.

Well now, who took things personal? I never thought you were digging to find out my religion, nor did I think you were pointing fingers in any direction, nor did I say you were being judgmental. Instead you were digging, for what I don't know, probably for someone to state your religion so you could pounce on them, for that I assume you are muslim because that is the general tactict they use here. You also were trying to make your responders react in a judgmental way. I simply stated I would not succomb to that level of stupidity as you say. Calling anyone stupid based on a general population is ignorant, by ignorant I do not mean stupid, look the word up.

i did not point at anyone religion. i merely asked you to tell which one. i still find many people take things too personal without even reading or understanding anything. you seem to assume that i meant your religion to be the stupidest, or so seems your writing. i do not even know which religion you belong and dont even want to know about it.
i did not make a judgement as you seem to think. but you made your judgement that atheism is the one. i appreciate it. also it seems that you think i am an atheist. thanks for responding.

No religion is stupid in anyway. Only people thinks that way because somehow they are not happy or not want to follow such rules of particular religion. All religion made fro good cause and it teaches ethics only.

you seem offended by my question. well i will not apologise, as my purpose was to get an answer. i find most religions stupid and that is my view. if you are not bold enough to say something against it for fear of facing god's wrath, then it is perfectly good for you.
if religions teach ONLY good and ethics, then the humanity would not have been like this. It would have been much better, peaceful and loving.

I am bold enough to speak the truth. I did not found anything wrong in any religion. You trying to blame religion just because some stupid people who have done wrong in their life for some or another reason and still wanted to continue it and they dear of religion because somewhere they are connected with that even though if they not want to. Humanity and all comes from good human being. Here you mixing human being with religion. All karma varies from person to person and it is completely solely decision to do good karma or not. I never say that I do good karma because I am religious or following their path but I do it because I know it is right to do and accepted by all. But if you do something wrong there are many people who can not stand by their mistake and blame to other factors like religion or friends or groups or anything. Religion do not force you to do anything so I would say no need to blame religion for anything. Peace!

Well said magicalangel I agree with you. Actually, it is the person who are stupid not the religion. As human we have our own free will what to do. Religions are not to blame of what is happening now to our society. Religions are just there to guide us what we should do to be righteous so it's totally up to the person if she/he chooses to righteous or not.

I will continue to say what i feel right. even if it means earning the wrath of god. i agree most followers are stupids. but what does a stupid follow? Stupidity. right. that answers it clearly. fanatics are a different kind. the last of yours "More or less each of them are the same." did it mean each of them are stupid?

There isn't a stupidest religion. There are only paths that are not for you.There is a religion for anyone who wants it. And what is great, you Don't have to follow any religion.From an outsider, there are aspects of a religion that may seem stupid but to a follower, it is tradition.and to call a religion stupid is so disrespectful.

Give a big cup, medal, and a crown to ALL of them!! I am absolutely tired of all the fanatics I have met over here in Mylot. Give all the religious fanatics who say they KNOW THE TRUTH a big medal and a big namaksara too!!

There is no "Stupidest Religion" as such... there are people who get so fundamental in their views, that they will go so far as to kill others - this isn't exclusive to any particular religion. This is when things get stupid...
I go more for for a Buddhist/ Pagan style philosophy in the new age spirit...

heyy why you have like this doubt with you..all religion have some reason and meaning..religions are created by the genious people in the early days..all should have theri own meaning and reasons..all are very worthfull one..there is no stupiesd and all here..try to change this..have anice time in mylot..i am having a great respect with all religions

Though I prefer not to propagate or actively practice any particular religion, I'd like to say that any religion is one of the smartest creation of human intellect. Religion was needed at one point of time, to bring a fear to the minds of humans in a group that there is a higher power that watched over everything and that it doled out rewards and punishments.
To a great extent, each religion managed (and still manages) to maintain law and order with a group. The clashes are between ideologies followed/difference in interpretation by different groups/within sub-groups.
Human ingenuity was involved even in the most primitive of religions that allowed customs that would be considered absolutely barbaric by today's standards.
I think it is the people who have their own interpretations of religions, their won agenda which is short sighted and limited to within their own lifetimes are the ones who are stupid from that perspective. Overall such people may be smart, but lack the foresight to understand the repercussions of their actions on their own religions over generations of time.

Hey that's not fair . No offense but i believe that there is no religion we could claim to be the stupidest. It is more on the person not the religion itself. I believe that even i am a straight catholic that we should respect others belief also . No matter what a person's religion is as along us he believes in it and he makes good in life and to other people. No question about religion.

I would either say that this question is pretty tough to answer, or I would say that no religion is stupid. As a person who does not know a thing about any other religions other than christianity (I used to be christian but now I am atheist) I really can't tell which religion is the stupidest. Rather I would say that no religion is stupid...

Religion is more an institution like marriage , family etc to regularise human beings.It had its purposes in those ages.I feel that it is more of a menace and a nuisance now, here i say of all religions ...i can safely say that it is an outdated institution now..

Born again christians. They are always nice to you when their trying to save you. But will be the first to tell you that you are goign to go to hell when you dont agree with their ways.
Satanists... Have a pretty sick way of treating others and themselves. I do not fully understand their religion at all. I have no met one person who was a good person and this religion!
