Can You Sleep In a Hot Room/House?

In the winter time, I can't sleep if the room is to hot. I turn my heat (thermostat) down real low. I am not comfortable if the room is to warm. When my grand children spend the night, I have to turn it up a little higher because they don't sleep under the cover. Then I do not get a good nights sleep. Does too much heat bother you in the winter time? Can you sleep/rest in a hot room/house?

I can't sleep if it's too hot. I keep my temp low too. Then in the morning, if it's cold out, I turn it back up a little. Right now, I have it set at 75 and the heat is on. I turn it down to about 73 or 74 at night in the winter. But later when it warms up, I will probably have to turn the air back on. I keep that set at 78 in the Summer. I've heard it's better to sleep with a cool room than with a hot one.

I do not like it to be very warm in my room at night. I would rather turn the heat down and cover up with a nice thick blanket. That way when I get too warm I can kick it off.

no, i cant tolerate extreme temperature. if it is too hot, i feel like suffocating and cant sleep. if it is too cold, then it is just as uncomfortable, and i will probably be sick. i like mild temperature or weather. that is why i live in california.

I am the same way. I have never been able to sleep when room is too hot. I do NOT like those hot/humid summer nights we have here at all! I would rather have it a bit cool and bundle up in blankets for comfort.

Ours is an older house with floor furnaces instead of central heat and air. My bedroom is an addition and was set up for a portable heater. However, I don't like having a heater in there, it's just too hot for me; so, all I use for warmth in the winter is a blanket. On really cold nights there's ice on the inside of the windows, but even in those conditions I don't want a heater.

Room temperature suits me just fine. Too hot gives me a headache and its bad for my computer, which that is the room I spend alot of time in besides my kitchen and bath, and bedroom. I kids don't like the house to be too hot either. My daughter asked me yesterday actually, could I turn the heat down, because she was too hot. Appropriate heat satisfies me just fine. I don't like to overdo it, except on the way to work, I like to blast the heater in our minivan to ensure I have on an extra set of heated clothing before stepping back out into the elements.

Hi Chevee, I've experienced in this situation a lot of times when I was renting! It was a very hot place and have no choice since I have to work in the morning! I can sleep but it takes time, will be restless for a while and then when I am too tired, I will just fall asleep! LOL!

Hi chevee! I really couldn't say because my apartment never gets hot! In fact it is so cold it is like sleeping outside! I have so many clothes on including a hat and sometimes gloves when I sleep. That's how cold it is in my apartment. Even with the heat on. I have a very cold apartment and I think it is because I have a full basement under me which they use as storage and it is empty with a cement floor that usually is flooded and no one cares about. The Mangement here doesn't care that I live above it and that it effects my apartment. I also live in the corner in the back so I get the wind like being in a wind tunnel. I have live here almost 30 years and all my complaining gets me nowhere. I will try again this year since the Manger is new! Maybe they will try something else. All the other apartments have no basements under them so they don't have the problem that I do.

I live in tropical country so sleeping in hot weather is quite normal especially when you go for jungle trekking and stuff. But when you are too exhausted and tired, you will need sleep and you will be able to sleep anywhere at anytime. :)

Sleeping in a hot room/house is impossible. It will be too humid and stuffy - dont think anyone can have do that.

I can't sleep in a hot house. No way, no how. In the summertime, the air is on at a comfortable temperature. In the wintertime, I have to have a warm room. I cannot sleep in the cold or be cold when I sleep.

I'd rather be in a hot room than a cold one Cold rooms make it impossible to get a good rest, my joints and bones just won't take it anymore.

I cannot sleep in a room that is too hot, I also have to have a window open. If I can't breathe fresh air I feel as though I am being stifled.

I'm stingy with the a/c. I hate it when it is too hot but will not sleep with the a/c on. I make everyone take a cool shower and then each room has a fan. With all the fans going, I wonder if I am really saving any money?
