With Obama saying he wants to tax the rich...why do so many actors vote for him? I do not understand this. What is it? Is that it is so cool to be liberal and eventually broke under Obama's policies? With the threat of movie stars leaving the USA if McCain gets in, I would be happy to lose their presence here. Madonna is the worst camparing McCain to Hilter. She should not criticize anyone. She and her values are worthless. She has never really been worth anything to the entertainment field. She just does whatever it takes to get attention. Do the American people need such people to tell them how to think?

Those actors don't fear Obama. They can still live nicely in the US but declare their income elsewhere as received there. They can use so many tax deductions that at the end of the day they have a poor person's income but still live the life of luxury. Their acting career is their business. A meal and party out on the town is entertaining clients. The car is the company car. Facials, personal trainers, spa visits, weekend getaways, all part of maintaining your body for your work, all essentials....... get it? It's cool to pretend you care but they hardly ever do. None of them would give up their life style to give all the money to the cause they support. Neither will Obama give up any of his money. Who'll end up paying is the middle class and below... as always! Nothing will change.

I think people are just scared. They are blaming the republicans for everything. Its just a mad dash to the extreme because many of the voters are just voting party and have not checked out the canidate.

Yeah, I have heard experts say there is blame on both sides, Republican and Democrat, and I've heard a LOT of experts say that the Democrats hold the most/most recent blame. I have NOT heard any expert claim that it was all the Bush Administration, only the Democrats are claiming that, but with Obama's media coverage, and the failure of the media to call Obama on even one of his LIES, people are believing it's the Republicans fault. And actually the economy was doing OK until the last two years -- when the DEMOCRATS took over Congress.

Eafore, I think that is true...they have no idea what McCain stands for or Obama. I don't think a lot of the democrats are really up on things.

I think most actors are voting for him for his stand on social issues- abortion, first amendment, so on. And, yes, as someone said as artists, actors get to deduct lots of things on their taxes as business expenses. BTW, I'm an American, and I don't need anyone to tell me what to think. Certainly no celebrity. I think by myself.

I believe that most American voters are smart enough to pay no attention to celebrity endorsements. At least I hope so.

Also I forgot to add most of Hollywood are not educated. Lots of them are high school drop out and live in "la-la land". I would not base any major decisions on them.

Well actually, yes, people of the U.S. do care what celebrites say, and whant to do the same as their idol. The reson celebrites endorse Obama is they know that this country is falling and might reach another great deppresion. And the other thing is if you have that much money as they do, you could afford a raise in taxes if you thought it was nessesary for the country to survive. They know if the crisis continues, people won't be able to pay and go and see that movie their in, or the concert Madonna might put on. And another thing, Madonna is a BIG person here in America, you should stop walking around saying shes worthless

You are right. I should not have said she and her values are worthless. She is a person with a soul worth saving...but her values...they are worthless. I can see you are impressed by her, and that is sad. We were all created equally...she is no bigger than you are. Why should you care about what she thinks. She does not care what you think.

I think YOU are the sad one, Yestheypayme2dothis! I am not defending Maddonna, I am saying she is a popualar American singer, and for most people it's a icon they want to be like. That does not mean I worship her or think she's above me!!I am also not saying that I look up to her, her fans do. That's what they do. And Mccain is not a hero!! HE wants the same type of governtment plans as Bush, the one that got America into our econimic crisis that's hurting the Global economy as well. I am a Rebublican, but I relized this and I know that juat this once that we need a Demorcratic predident to fix this. Then we have meddling people like YOU that don't understand this and think it's bad!! You just wait and see Obama win our Election, proving that the rest of the U.S. thinks the same.

I think most of them are liberal-minded. They care about being able to abort babies, have homosexual marriages, etc. They want the freedom to be perverted.

Everyone knows that promises are made to be broken... especially in an election campaign. The rich will never be taxed. What amazes me is that people consider these celebrities as someone worth listening to. Come on, they have so many personal problems and issues that most of their expertise is in rehab and they have little knowledge of politics.

Of course we don't need anyone to tell us what to think! We need to do our homework - though at this late stage of the game if you have not done so, it is probably too late - and make an informed decision using our own hearts and minds. We know what we believe is the best for our country; it is our job to vote and let our voices be heard - not wait for someone else to tell us what to do. Most people are really afraid right now; our economy is not in the best of shape, many people have lost their life savings in the financial crisis. The cost of living is rising rapidly and our wages are not following suit. We are a nation that is at war and is also in a sense at war with ourselves - after all look at the polls to see how divided we are! Bring up politics to your friends and family and be ready for a violent discussion this election year! LOL. The actors have always been very high profile and try to sway the general public to their way of thinking, and so many people blame the Republican party and George Bush for all our nation's problems that they feel the only way to solve them is to elect a Democrat. Things will begin to level out - for better or worse - once the election is behind us.

That is so true. These discussions with friends and family do get violent. People are very passionate about this election. Go McCain!

Comparing McCain to Hitler? With all evidence pointing to OBAMA as the next fuehrer??? McCain is NOTHING like Hitler, and to make such a statement is just VILE The answer to your question, tho, is the RICH do not care about more taxes -- not the truly rich. They will still be plenty rich if Obama taxes them more. It is the small and medium companies and businesses, and the people with families in the lower end of Obama's "rich" scale, those making maybe $250,000 - $450,000 who are raising children. The companies will not be able to hire workers or expand their businesses, and the parents will have to cut back on some of the things they want to do for their children -- where they cut back, we will feel it with layoffs. This question reminds me of a question put to Arnold Schwarzenegger years ago -- I cannot remember when or what the situation, only that there was a significant drop in the stock market and Arnold was not yet Governor of CA. As the nation watched the markets drop by the minute, Arnold was asked how he felt, if he was upset because he must have just lost millions in the last hour. Arnold's answer was that no, he really would not even NOTICE that loss. It meant nothing to him because his wealth was so high. People with that much money are voting for Obama on the "change" platform, not caring about their taxes. It is the people that you aren't hearing from who will be hurt by the higher taxes during a time of recession. And the people below them -- you and me -- are going to feel it the most.

Madonna has always been incredibly rude without fear of payback. This election is so stressful. We don't spend a lot of money, but I think we will spend less.

I would think its because sometimes people care more for the country than they do for themselves. A lot of performers, actors, musicians, etc come into money very suddenly, therefore aren't always out of touch with the less fortunate. This is probably why they are more concerned with developing programs to help people less fortunate, and donating their voices to the cause.

There is a huge difference with being millionaire rich and just having 250,000 dollars. The millionaires are so rich, it is no big deal to them to pay taxes.

I think that people have it all twisted. Obama is not trying to necessarily take money from the rich--he wants to establish a system whereby those who make less pay less taxes and those who make more pay more taxes. It's only fair. How do you expect to earn more money than the average Joe and pay less than or the same as someone in the lower or middle class? Also, in terms of actors wanting to vote for Obama, it is not just about the money it's about principles and who is the best person to run this country. Obama is about positive change for this nation and he would make a great president. Maybe comparing McCain to Hitler is a stretch but we need to support the majority of people's needs in this country and save the economy and giving the rich a tax break will not do it.

You think it is a tad bit of a stretch, do you? McCain is a hero and she compares him to Hitler. That is sad...something you don't understand...

No I do understand, please do not misinterpret that. I do not agree or did I ever imply that McCain is anything like Hitler. Com'om! Hitler was just pure evil if you ask me. But anyway...I am talking about the fundamentals and his politics and I do not agree with most of the things he says. Hopefully you will see how Obama is the better choice and how he has more in store for this country than staying in war and looking out for the rick unlike McCain. All that matters at this point is that Obama is our new president and he is ready to shake up the white house and do good things for our country.

It's probably because these movie stars know that there are things in life that are more important then money like making some changes in our government for the better. I don't know a whole lot about Madonna but I'm thinking her story is a rags to riches one and hers wasn't an easy climb to the top. She is very talented and entertaining so I think that in itself would make what you say false.
