NaNoWriMo Update!

Well, as of today, I've written 7,902 words. Boy is my right arm numb! :D I wish I could post my counter on this site, but mylot won't let me use any html yet. So if you want to see it, or if you'd like to see my cover art, go to serendipitous.gather.com and click on my posts. It's under "I signed up for National Novel Writing Month." I think the cover turned out pretty well. My kids helped me out with it. I may try to post it here just as a picture. How are the rest of you coming along? We need to connect as writing buddies as soon as the Authors function is back on line and have some word wars, right?

I"m a little over 7,000 words. Did 4,000 Saturday, 2500 yesterday, and only about 300 so far today. This seems to be one of those days when I'm not going to get much done, but at least I'm ahead of my own goal up to this point. I'm not sure whether I'm even going to try to reach 50,000. I have other writing to do, and NaNo isn't my top priority. But I'll keep at it, hoping tomorrow is a better day. I'm just as glad the site has been down most of the time. I don't need any more excuses to keep me from writing.

Your progress is wonderful! You should definitely keep going. What type of book are you writing? Mine's a horror/thriller :D. I know what you mean about other writing. As soon as I cram in some lunch, I'm going to write a new installment of a serial story I've been writing with some other folks over on Gather. It's for a group called Serial Fiction and Other Lies. It's great. You should check it out. Serialying.gather.com . I'm also trying to get something tightened up enough for the Writer's Digest Popular Fiction Awards, but the deadline is today, and I just don't know if my stories are ready. It would help if I had some readers. You know you can't post them or they're considered "published". What are you working on?

I wish I had remembered to do this, this year. I have been wanting to write in the NaNoWriMo for a while and have never found the time. I think next November, I will clear my calender. Good luck, your doing a great job.

Thanks. I'm very excited. I've written stories with several parts before, but never anything like this. It's really fun and scary. I hope I can keep it up. The real challenge will be to write the middle and the ending in a timely fashion I think. At least for me.

Nice to meet you crimsonladybug. I wish they'd put the author function back on line. It's hard to hook up with all the people I've met without it. Congratulations to you. I know you'll do great. I'm sticking to my upgraded schedule and I'm pretty happy. I've just about reached the middle of the novel and I'm starting to flag. I don't know how I'm going to get from there to the ending, but I guess I'll manage somehow. All my best!

It's only day 5, you can still catch up. Can't do any worse than me. I am just shy of 3000 words. And most of that is stream of consciousness blather but, hey, words are words if they eventually lead me to something. Which I'm not sure they will but here's hoping.

Thank you. I didn't think I did either, but this contest seems to be just the thing for me. It has me writing every day - so far. But I think the structure will keep me going until the end.

Actually, I had never heard of NaNoWriMo until this year. Since there has been so much going on here, I simply don't have the time or energy to participate this year; perhaps, I will have a chance to do it next year. Right now, I'm working on another major project that is consuming a lot of my time.
