Grocery stores, gas stations, but what else should B open when we have insomnia?

A lot of mylotters have insomnia. Of course not all of them get in their cars and go somewhere, especially with the price of gas. Sometimes I wish more places were open during the night. Besides grocery stores, gas stations, and all night pharmacies. Of course there are clubs, but I don't count them. I'd like for a book store to be open all night. Even though it isn't, or may not be feasible, what would be your choice? What would you like to have open if you had insomnia and left your house to go somewhere? I think in New York City a lot of things are always open, but I'll let someone else tell me since I've never been there.

I would love for a bookstore to be open all night, that's a great idea. All we have arond here is a Walmart that is open 24 hours, and I'll go there sometimes and browse for little thing I need. In Chicago there are some restaurants that are open until early morning hours, if not all night. Once when we were there, we were driving around at about 3 in the morning, and we found a our favorite taco place open. There were lots of people in there, some with little children. That place was always busy. Another time, we found restaurants open in Chicago's Chinatown. I would love to go to New York and stay up all night checking out some of the all night places. I did go to Vegas once, and walked around the casinos, but there was little else open all night.

If I ever get enough money to do that, I'll let you know. I thought of another idea too, I love to go to the zoo whenever I'm in a place that has a good one. There are some nocturnal animals that are always sleeping. If there were an all night zoo, the night animals would be awake. The zoo could also use landscaping that includes night blooming plants like evening primrose.

Hey ambie, I live in New York but not in Manhattan. I live about 45 minutes from the "Big Apple". The only other thing that we have where I live that is open 24 hours would be diners. I don't even think the gas stations are open 24 hours. Grocery stores are and some pharmacies, but not all and bars and clubs are open late, but not 24 hours either. I have insomnia but I don't have a car so I don't go anywhere when I can't sleep. I have been know to go across the street to my neighbors apartment to hang out with her and sometimes eat dinner at 4:00am! She likes to cook at all hours of the night/morning so we used to have meals at strange times.

I was looking at one of those television programs, Divorce Court, I think it was Judge Mabelean was the judge. And this woman's husband was out late at night. And she said "The only thing opened at 2 am in the morning is Legs and Liq___r stores. Not a very good answer is it?

I would be happy to have a bookstore or library in our area that's open 24/7. I'd love for cafés and diners with good food to stay open all day. I heart NY!

I love a good coffee house... of course they are open all night here... so my dream has come true. Nothing better than a cup of coffee and a good book or newspaper on those sleepless nights.

I would do with a library, a coffee-library, when I can sit down comfortably and read a book while sipping a cup of tea. I would like to see that open 24 hrs a day. © ronaldinu 2008

I wouldn't mind there being a library or a book store or at least a place to get interesting obscure magazines - oh, and a place with lots of different puzzle books. It would be nice if a video store were open too. And for those of us "vampires" I wish the government offices were open! (Yea, right!) As for driving at night, yes, gas is high, but I tend to waste less gas idling in traffic when I go to the 24 hour Wal-Mart! My favorite cure for insomnia!

I think pc and internet technical support I use internet for a lot of things whenever I can't sleep I will surely go online so it would be nice if these people are available when I have pc or connection problem I was going to say credit card emergency calls who knows I might not realize something happens to my card or do not read my statement until late at night that way I can call them and get a response and stop worrying

How about a movie theatre? What do you think? Or a video store?

I would love it if the malls would be open overnight... but that is quite impossible since there is not that many people with insomia around... in my country... because of the proliferations of call center agents who work during night time... a lot of fastfood chains have decided to be open 24 hours... and that is one place most insomiacs go now...

I don't have insomnia at all. Sometimes, I wondered why I slept so deeply even if something terrible had happened. Maybe... I don't know it!

That is good hiddenwing, to sleep so deeply. You know once my dad slept through a tornado that came down two streets away from our house. I was eight and my sister, mom and I were huddled in the hallway. He slept through it.

About a year ago we have some Walmart stores that stay open 24 hours a day. I have only gone shopping once at night time and it was kind of neat. There weren't very many people in the store so I didn't have to wait in lineups to try things on or to pay for them at the till. I will go shopping again sometime, at night, because it was really a good experience for me. Alrighty then, talk to you later, your friend Chris.

There are two grocery stores open 24 hours where I live. There is one gas station, convenience store combination open and I think there might be a Tim Horton's (not sure as I don't drink coffee anymore). What I would like to see is the TV stations open 24 hours. What I mean is they seem to have infomercials on all night, and I would like to see decent programming on instead, I am getting tired of the exercise equipment floggers and colon cleansers, yuk, enough already.

Oh I know. Even cable, who we should be able to depend on to give us all night TV is gluttoned with infomercials in the middle of the night.

The things that come to my mind are the cliched images of all night diners or cafes. Also, for those people who get hyper at night, or just hate crowds, there are the all night laundromats. A big truck stop is a cool place to go, even in the middle of the night. There is usually food, and you might find a laundry, shoe shine, store, coffee, and lots of people just chatting, and waiting for that next load or waiting for their log book to catch up to them so they are legal again. Often there is a lounge with a TV as well.

I think everything should be open 24 hours. Alot of people work different schedules and it is hard to make it to some stores or business before they close.

I think movie theaters should be open all night. Then if you can't sleep you can go watch a movie instead of watching infomercials all night. That would be pretty cool. That and Dairy Queen!

That would be a tough one....maybe a library....or favorite restaurant...that would be nice especially if you had someone who also shared your problem and you could go sit and visit someplace.....other then that I don't know what I would like open.

I think an all night bookstore would be cool. I think that a lot of things should be open 24 hours. Out in the middle of nowhere where I live the only thing even remotely close by that is open 24/7 is gas stations and Walmart. Oh, and I think there is a Denny's that is open all night. There is an all night donut shop up the road from my brothers house.
