My wife dreamed that I got lost

My wife dreamed that I got lost in a forest together her father. Despite that they searched for us for a week the could not find us. Finally I returned home weak and frail. According to her dream, we returned back to find my father in law dead. What do you make out of this dream? I told her it means you love us both and don't take much heed of it. © ronaldinu 2008

I think you're right. And she's afraid of losing her father. The great thing about the dream is that you survived, showing her love for you. I hope that love lasts your whole life!

something in real life is troubling her,
she is afraid of something, afraid of losing something maybe money, security whatever,

Has she have this dream more than once? if so, it is a sign that she is afraid that she may have to choose between the two of you and dad lost. Or that you two may be in danger and you are not hurt but Dad is. But if she only had the dream once and only once, then it was just a nightmare.

It is not a prediction, if she is worried about that. Dreams are lessons, problem solving sessions, and some are actual experiences of having loved ones who passed come and visit. Others are when we leave our bodies (yes, we do that sometimes) and travel around.
There is a good book about dreams by Sylvia Browne that explains a lot.
Tell her not to worry.

I think your wife has a fear of losing you, someone she loves very much and also of her father, just give her all your love and tell her not to worry so.

Dreams are funny things, and I find we often dream of the things which frighten us. I have lots of dreams (nightmares) where I can't find various family members, or that they are leaving me for some reason. It's always a relief to wake up and realise it's not true! Sometimes the memory of the dreams lasts for a long time though.
