Do you prepare sweet potatoes from a can? Or do you prefer to preparing them from their natural state? I have done both, I haven't decided which to do this year. Feel free to share you sweet potato recipes or tips.

It is easier to make it in a can, but I do prefer it fresh and grilled..One time a few years ago at a friends house where she had people coming to her property to camp out, and they had a grill and people shared food, I got to try my first grilled sweet potato and it was delicious..

Oh, those do sound very good. I buy them year round, so we may grill them next summer.

by all means fresh are the best because you know what is in them and they aren't adulteraed with extra sugar and all those preservatives and and additives that those companies like to put in every thing. I really like mine baked, remove the skin and then add butter salt and pepper then mash them. They are so good that way. I also like to make french fries out of them. But since it's for Thanksgiving I'll bake and mash them.

I have done both. This year I believe i'm going to use the canned sweet potatoes. I have so much to do this year. and I will be traveling so whatever will be easier for me. I love a sweet potato cassarole. I could eat more of that then the turkey LOL.

I does not matter to me either way. I do not like them at all and will not eat them no matter how they are made or who makes them. I will not eat them fresh, I will not eat them if their meshed, I will not eat them with marshmallows, I will not eat them with some fellows, I will not each them in a casserole, I will not eath them in a bow. I do not like them Sam I am I will not eat them from a can. Just in case you could not guess, I do not like them. Yuck!!!

I like preparing sweet potatoes from a can. I tried doing it the old fashioned way once and I made a HUGE mess. It is just so much easier from the can. I usually like using fresh veggies, but sweet potatoes from the can work best for me.

I like my sweet potatoes fresh and just baked, or microwaved. I split them, put butter in them, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. I am not fond of "candied yams", but prefer mine just the way I described.

I don't eat potatoes from a can, I don't eat sweet potatoes, I prefer my potatoes from scratch all the time. I just don't find they taste good from a can.

I love sweet potatoes. I always buy them fresh - I have never seen tinned ones where I live. I like them roasted, mashed or baked in their jackets. I also like them as a dessert - sweet potato pie(similar to pumpkin pie) and in cakes or muffins. Mmmmm.

I don't have a preference from where they come just as long as they taste yummy. I'm no chef so I don't have a recipe, sorry.

By all means, fresh sweet potatos. You can really taste the difference.

I much prefer fresh sweet potatoes. Canned sweet potatoes don't taste as good, nor are they as healthy. Fresh sweet potatoes generally need nothing added other than, perhaps, a dab of butter. They are naturally sweet and delicious.
