I checked my yahoo mail just now! Some stranger, a south african girl, told me that she had personal issue to talk to me! How come she know my email adress? Is it scary or should I help her anyway to talk about her business? I am terrified! I just wondered...Have you ever received a strange email?

If you have never heard of this person, Simply delete it! This is a HUGE business. Everyone gets scam e-mails. They simply e-mail people blindly hoping that someone will fall for it. DELETE and you will probably never hear from this particular scammer again. I can guarantee that you will hear from others. Be smart. DELETE.

By the way, since e-mail addresses are merely a series of letters and numbers, they can send things out to virtually millions of combinations of letters and numbers they can make up. In most cases, these are likely chosen by the computers they use themselves.

Emails like this are very much rampant in the net which were being sent to our email inbox without our consent. Probably, all mylotters experienced the same thing including myself. I really hate these kind of emails because it is not only sent once but most of the time which I also keep on deleting it. I even raised this discussion few months ago. The best thing you will do is to ignore all of these because these are another form of scams otherwise you will be trapped with it. Be precautious.

It took my precious time to delete them. As you know, sometimes, I coudn't totally ignore the junk mails! Consdier, some mails that were sent to the wrong place, for example! I once missed something important since I thought it was really a junk mail!

Yeah, you're right. We could not just delete it until we would know that its not a good mail.

Yes I have received some strange e-mails many saying I needed to contact someone in another country about money they say they will give me. Needless to say I just delete these mesages and would advise you to do the same. We put our e-mail address on so many sites that it is difficult to know where people get them from.

One word my friend DELETE! Don't think any more of it, everyone gets them and they are a pain but if you set up a filter it should stop them coming in and just direct them where they belong in the trash! Our emails are sold all over the world and we get weird emails, scam and fake emails requesting money, everything! It's just spam pure and simple, we have no control who sells our emails sadly and you can't stop it, most sites you sign up to will use your emails to sell on!

You are right in that we cannot control who sells our email addresses and who they sell them too either. This is how we all end up with endless loads of spam in our inbox unless we set the filters correctly. Sometimes doing that does niot prevent the junk mail ending up in our inbox unfortunately. Every time we fill in a form online for something that is free or for a competition/contest, we have to realise there is a possibility we will end up with spam. Once we only had 2 email addresses. One for our business and the other personal but we soon realised that had to change so we got separate ones for freebie things, another for competitions and contests and yet another for the survey sites and forums. So I agree with you, hit the delete and forget about it because later on today there will be another great offer coming to your inbox. lol

It sounds very much like one of those scams that we all get from time to time so I suggest that you report it as a phishing email and then delete it. DO NOT respond to it (or any other email of this type) at all because then they will know that yor email address actually exists. What these scammers do is send out hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of the same email but they do not know which are genuine email addresses and which are not genuine. The email addresses are computer generated and they use every possible variation the computer comes up with but when you respond, they know that have a "live" person. If you responded the sender - who might niot even be a female - will tell you some story about how her family has money they need to be transferred safely because their government has ahrmed them etc. It is all a scam and their intention is not to send you money but to rob you of your money. These people who send such emails are evil and will steal everything that they can so delete the email immediately.

what is there to be scared or terrified about receiving such a mail. read the contents, if you like reply. else just delete the mail. if it is about money, stay away from such people. they are probably cheats. off late i have noticed that most of the scamsters come from close to middle east and africa.
