Now I've Heard It All...LOL..Presenting "Mantyhose"

I had heard this on the news last night and couldn't help laughing. It seems a new fashion trend has hit the market and is gaining in popularity...what is it? MANTYHOSE. Yup, pantyhose for men. Now unless a man is a ballet dancer and needs to wear hose, or a cross-dresser, transvestite or transsexual...why would a man want to wear pantyhose? There's an article here about it http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2008/08/men_in_tights_its_time_for_man.html Then there is the "official" website about mantyhose http://www.e-mancipate.net/ {Warning These are NOT referral links but links about mantyhose} But ah..sweet revenge in a way...now men will understand what we of the female gender have been putting up with in wearing pantyhose..the runs, the tears, the lousy fit, that annoying waistband somehow slipping down and having to keep tugging it up. Women...would you want to see your man wear pantyhose? Men.....would you ever wear pantyhose?.

No Way!!! I would never want to see my husband wear pantyhose. LOL That is the most rediculous think I've heard today. Why would a man who is a real man, want to wear pantyhose that is for woman?

No way no how would I ever want my husband anywhere near these, and I know he never would anyway! On the radio they often talk about these types of products they are making for men nowadays, one was a girdle for men, and they were saying how unmanly it is. While I do think a guy should keep up appearances, wearing girdles and nylons would not be attractive at all :P I don't even like nylons anyway, I wear tights when I have to and only nylons maybe once a year!

I don't like nylons or pantyhose either and they really don't keep one's legs warm..tights yes, but not pantyhose..so have no idea why men would want to wear pantyhose

I bet we are not going to see many guys wearing Mantyhose. Probably for the same reason they don't wear skirts and heals....(at least most of them)

Actually, it's not such a bad idea. Especially if they have poor circulation in their legs. They're probably more comfortable than wearing longjohns like my ex used to wear. They could be made out of dress sock material so that no socks would be needed when wearing business attire, but could also be thinner material for under jeans so that regular socks could be worn, too. My daughter used to wear tights when she was working in the warehouse at UPS - they kept her legs nice and warm. Why not guys? I think it's just that we have an image of what they represent that we have a problem with it.

OK - now that I've seen some of the images on that website, I will say this - I approve of them for UNDER slacks - NOT under SHORTS. And the squiggles and snowflakes - sorry! Unless you're still collecting My Little Pony and Rainbow Bright toys, PLEASE don't wear them!!!

I know aren't those pantyhose with designs a riot??? Well I could see if pantyhose would keep men warmer like the concept of longjohns, but pantyhose really don't keep legs all that warm...tights yes, pantyhose nope

What next? If my husband decided to start wearing mantyhouse I'd be out of the door faster than a rat up a drainpipe! I can't imagine why ANYONE would want the discomfort of pantyhose ... not to mention the fact you might be susceptible to thrush problems. Go figure!

This is pretty strange. Not sure I want to see any man in pantyhose, unless they're a dancer and for some odd reason I'm there and watching them dance. It's just very, very odd. What will they come up with next? The man bra (bro?)?

i can quite understand their reasons for wearing the 'mantyhose'.. most of them mentioned to keep themselves warm.. why cant they wear 'leggings' or 'skintight pants' then..? to be honest i dont wear pantyhose myself.. probably because it is just suitable for me in our hot weather.. i normally use knee-legth stockings.. i dont men in our country would be 'mantyhose' either...

LOL--I haven't worn pantyhose in years..if it's really cold I have my thermal underwear or even opt to wear my leggings (the kind dancers use) so if men feel the need to wear something warm under their pants why not that thermal underwear or longjohns????

Hi pye, That would suit andy man who is a cross dresser hehe, no I won't like my hubby in one but, saying that, my husband in into bikes and some of his bike clothing looks like a pair of tights but is a full body one. Bright Blessing. Tamara

Hmmmm...I don't know if I want to see my man wearing panty hose, but I sure would love to see him putting them on! Seriously, when I used to live up north, tights were just the thing to wear under jeans when spending any length of time outside in the wintertime. My then boyfriend, who was an avid icefisherman, used to borrow my tights to wear when he went icefishing. He loved them, and that was over 20 years ago. I took a look at the e-mancipate website. With today's fascination with body art, the combination shorts and patterned panyhose were not that bad looking. It's easy to see where that might be popular, especially in the cities. I doubt if you'll ever see a Nascar endorsed brand though...lol.

I haven't worn pantyhose for years but oh, my remember fondly what a pain it was putting them on when I did wear them. As for when it gets really cold here...I have those woolen Icelandic kind of leg warmers that dancers use..of course I get strange looks since I tend to wear them outside my jeans' legs...like who cares? Keeps me warm

That's just a new name for them....Men have been wearing pantyhose for years now. Most football players and hockey players found that pantyhose would help keep your legs warm and so they began wearing them years ago. Joe Namath wore them and even said so in one interview he did on TV. I bet there were men who wore them that had to work outside in freezing weather but wouldn't want anyone to know it as they were considered womens' wear. But I like the name now those men can say they wore Mantyhose, so as not be embarrassed. Makes you wonder what woman wore the first pair of pants?????

Gee pye now the boys can wear them with their kilts. heehee No I do not think my man would wear panty hose, infact I can almost guarantee that he would not wear them. He could not get them on because he cannot reach his feet so I could have to put them on him and I aint going to do that.

No, I don't think I would want to see my man wearing pantyhose, be it called mantyhose whatever. I don't think my man would even want to wear pantyhose, he wouldn't think that was very manly, and my husband is a man's man, some people think of him as being Larry the Cable Guy the 2nd...lol. I don't know what man would even want to wear them, I don't even like wearing pantyhose and I'm a woman...haha.

Okay... this is too much! WHY would men want to wear pantyhose? Why would ANYONE want to wear pantyhose??? They're so hard to get on! But, if men want to wear them, more power to them! BUT, if they're going to be doing the pantyhose thing, they should also think about that garment made especially for men in one Seinfeld episode, the "Bro", also known as the "The Man Bra".

I think the pantyhose for men does have a "special" feature...LOL. I can't stand pantyhose myself and haven't worn them in years..but then I always wear jean and just have socks for my feet
