Some people give their pennies away just to get rid of them.Do you pick up pennies off of the street when you come across them?Do you save your pennies?

I only pick up pennies off the street when they are on heads. Someone said if you find a penny on heads you will have good luck. So I pick them up and put them in my daughter piggy bank.

I usually keep my pennies and use them when necessary. They are still money, also if I have pennies with me, I can just give it away when I'm buying stuffs, without needing to get the changes (more pennies again!). But, I do not pick up any pennies off the street, I just do not have the habit to pick up money from the street.

No, I don't. I probably should start though. I have a friend who saves every penny she sees. I once saw a penny on a bathroom stall floor & I told her sorry I was not going to pick that one up just seemed a little unsanitary to me. If it's silver I will usually pick it up though.

They can give them to me!!! As Ben Franklin said, "A penny saved is a penny earned." Of course, the penny had more value back then.... But they are those little things you can put away and not think about, so they eventually add up.

I keep all of my pennies because I recognize they are worth money haha! I pick up pennies all the time whenever I spot them, even if it means standing in one place for five minutes picking up a TON of pennies. I do not save them but count them up and put them in rolls so I can exchange them for cash at the bank, By the way, Happy Thanksgiving. -Regards, Undertheoath

I keep every penny I have and pick up any I see. It all adds up. I have a jar and when it is full I would like to deposit it into the bank it just never gets full. When we run out of cash I take that change to the store and buy necessities with it at the self checkout lane. It is humbling to pay for groceries with change but I love knowing that there is a back up when we are out of milk and eggs.

Yes I do. I save all the pennies that I see or that is given to me as change. I put them in a jar and when I have a lot already, I donate the whole jar to a local charity or to my church. It may be just a penny for some, but for me, there wouldn't be a hundred without a penny. So I save them and I bet, together, those pennies are worth a lot.

I save mine and use them and i pick up pennies others drop. However its funny how many people one pick one up off the floor..but they'll sit and pick the tape off it when its taped to a counter.

I shared a great story about pennies in my discussions awhile back. A Really great story about a rich man and a found penny. I hope you get a chance to read it, you'll never look a a found penny the way you do now. I use to keep a daily log of any money I found and put into a jar, just something to do. You know when you go looking for something you will find it and I was finding money every day for a whole month, it was amazing.

I save all of my change. I put it in a big jug and when it gets reasonably full I take it in and cash it out. I am often surprised at how much it equals. I am not sure why people throw money away, especially when you see how many people complain about not having enough or the things they will do to try and get more.

Yes, I pick up any and all pennies and other change that I see on the street. It is amazing how those pennies add up over a period of time.

I always keep my pennies. They do add up after a while. I also pick up any pennies I see on the ground, no matter if they're heads up or tails up. I'm not superstitious, and they are still worth a cent no matter which way they're laying.

I really do save my pennies. When I am buying something at the the store, I do my best to use them instead of just handing over a $20.00 dollar bill. Money is money even if it is just a jar full of pennies, right? My husband always hands me over his change because he is like many people who don't think to use their coins at the register. :D

Yes I do the other day I went outside to where my vehicle was parked and right beside it was a pile of pennies we picked them all up because we save every one we get because we have had to cash them in to help with things like laundry and also gas at times.

I pick up every penny I see. i save all of our change. The quarters go for the laundry room. the rest we save in a big jar. everytime we have 50.00 dollars in change we turn it in and buy a gift card to put away for birthday and Christmas presents.Change adds up faster than people realize. We have saved over 300.00 this way this year.

I have a ceramic jar on the kitchen table that collects all our pennies. When it gets full I turn them in. I do not go looking for them on the street, but most we have are from our pockets.

I pick them up off the ground when I see them and I save them in my piggy bank. Those pennies really add up after a while. My boyfriend used to throw them away, but he doesnt anymore. I told him that it makes no sense to throw away money, so now he puts them in his piggy bank too.
