How do you prefer your chicken to be cooked?

All over the world, chicken is cooked in all sorts of ways, what way is your favorite? I grew up in the Mississippi in the southeast of the USA and having chicken deep fried was something I grew up with - however it's certainly not my favorite way to eat it. Personally I prefer to cut up chicken breasts into cubes then put them into a close-able container. Then I pour teriyaki glaze over it, close the container and shake it to make sure it's covering all the chicken. I usually put it in the fridge for an hour or two, shake it around every once in a while and then pan-fry it with a little extra virgin olive oil. Pour that over some plain ramen and pour some teriyaki over it all - amazing. So how do you like your chicken?

I prefer my chicken to be off the bone and baked or fried, just as long as it's not on the bone. Doesn't matter really how it's cooked, just no bones. My kids love honey mustard baked chicken.

The thing is there are so many delicious ways to prepare chicken how can you choose a favorite? I like fried, baked, broiled, grilled, stir fried, etc. Teriyaki sounds good as well love it.. Hot wings! I would have to say I do most enjoy Jerk Chicken as I have Caribbean roots (Barbados) and grew up with Jamaicans my whole life as well. Maybe that has nothing to do with it and I just love that spice of Jerk Chicken, with sour hard dough bread pon de side, LAWD!

No they are not. I haven't found the REAL jerk seasoning anywhere but Jamaica and in New York. I have to have my sister send me some from NY real soon!!

I know, it's an awfully hard question - glad it's getting some responses though! Makes you think! It really is, you should try it :) My husband loves hot wings, but I got sick once from some so I really can't even stand to be around them. I have yet to have real jerk chicken, I'd love to - I don't think that the marinades in the store that say they're jerk chicken really taste like it. It tastes good, but not authentic, I'm sure. Thanks for friending me by the way!

Your description has gotten me hungry LOL I love chicken to bits! The method of cooking doesn't really matter to me although my fave dish is soy sauced broiled chicken wings. If I have to have a whole chicken, I like it honey-glazed. I am always unconsciously misled into thinking I like fried chicken but after eating it I would be reminded that I rather not. Another dish my mother whipped up well is tohave chicken wings cooked in plain boiling water. The sweetness is retained and it is just so so good when eaten with a chilli and soy sauce dip :)

That sounds really good..I shall try it out. I enjoy fried chicken, especially from KFC, as this is the one dish that I can't do at home - too messy and hot. I like to bake chicken drumsticks or thigh pieces, after marinating them in either black pepper sauce or curry mix. Or steam them with ginger paste, light soya and oyster sauce.

I love frying chicken because my fried chicken is the best! I always use a deep pot to cut down on splash mess and keep it on a low to med flame. Also put a piece of raw onion in the hot oil to cutback on odor, this also works if you put a glass of vinegar on the stove or cinnamon in a tin pan or aluminum foil on the stove eye (low heat). I wouldn't let anything stop me from frying foods. I apply these methods when frying fish as well.

It really, really is :) Yeah, I don't even TRY to fry chicken at home, I am phobic of hot grease. I love marinades - I'm always mixing new ones, just to see what I can make. Of course sometimes it's easiest to grab one at the store too, ahah.

The laziest way to cook chicken is deep fry, but in my country I like our one favorite mostly the adobo chicken, or tinola, I also cook it in grilled. I also raising chicken in our backyard, I like to play with them since when my Grandfather also like raisning chicken so this is the way I was grow up with everyday I saw chicken in our surroundings. I experience also raising a 45 days old chicken, its difficult, also I have to oversee them always.

Ohhh, the rotisserie chickens from Walmart or Sam's club? Those are amazing. We just got one at the commissary recently and it was great, not expensive and fed us both with a liiiittle leftover. Let me know how the teriyaki turns out! We use the Kikoman's teriyaki marinade :)

I love chicken and eat it several times a week. In fact I did roast chicken for dinner today. I don't have a particular favourite way of cooking it as I like it done lots of ways. One of my favourite ways is boned-out thighs stuffed with sundried tomatoes, mozarella cheese and wrapped in parma ham and then baked in the oven mmmmm, yummy.

Hello Koifish, well my favourite chicken dish is called Djuvec and is very popular in the Balkans in South East Europe. It is a rice-based dish. Basically I cut up chicken fillet into strips or samll pieces and brown them on a pan with a little oil on it. Then I add the rice until it is brown too. To this I then add chopped vegatables, such as: red peppers, onions, tomatoes, garlic and possibly brussel sprouts or carrots, as you wish. Lastly I add water with a gulasch type mix of spices and let the whole thing come to the boil. Then I let it simmer for 20 minutes and presto - it's finished. It's easy to make and is not too heavy on the stomach. Have a good weekend. Umart

Hi there KoiFish. I myself really love chicken and pretty much any way it can be made. What you have described here sounds just absolutely delicious. I really do like the idea of putting some kind of marinade on chicken and shaking it up and down to get the flavor imparted into it. I love barbecue chicken also. Fried is also great and boiled can also be okay but not as good as the other ways. I also like crispy chicken with different seasonings. I actually like a lot of my food spicy including meats and the like. Sounds like a great idea to try this recipe that you have. It is always interesting to try out something new. And I really like to cook something nice once in a while for my family. My husband is a pretty good cook himself that has made some great chicken dishes. I have used Italian seasoning in which I would have as a marinade mixed with it in a bowl. After it sits in the refrigerator for a while and even over night it really gets a great flavor the next day. And what is even just as good is preparing some good side dishes to go along with it like mixed vegetables or something else that could be stir fried. There are many additions that can be added to the chicken dinner. Thanks for passing your information along and it seems like a great idea for other members here to maybe try.

Your teriyaki chicken sounds delicious...and easy too. Gonna have to give that a try. I'm sitting here trying to think of what my favorite style of chicken is. I'm one of those people who could eat chicken every day, especially since there are so many ways to prepare it. This time of year, with the weather getting colder, I love a good chicken soup...or chicken-black bean chili. In the summer, I think my favorite would be bbq'd, or smoked.

I like chicken broiled. I usually marinate it in lemon juice for an hour and then I stuff rosemary sprigs underneath the skin. Definitely going to try your teriyaki recipe it sounds good and I love everything fried in extra virgin olive oil.

Exactly how you just described it, because that is the most amazing wonderful way to ever make it. You need to make that for me too when I come see you in January. :D That, and your "oh so amazing apple pie". Read my pie discussion if you haven't already, I responded. Haha. But man oh man do I love fried chicken. Mmmmmm.... Or barbecue chicken... Okay, so I just love chicken. Gosh, I can never be a vegetarian.

You know, I wasn't sure that you would like the teriyaki but I'm glad we made it and you liked it :) We'll for sure make that when you guys come up, no problem with that! And the pie, that pie is great. It has a bit of butter on the crust (though I'm thinking of just making it a cinnamon sugar glaze instead of butter and cinnamon, it turned out a little squishy ontop last time), so you might not like it :P I'll go check your response soon! And yeah, I miss pawpaw's BBQ chicken :(

Hi! I could eat chicken everyday and will never get tired of it. I also like chicken cooked in any way. I like it roasted, deep fried, broiled, as part of soup, or baked. I will try your recipe and just by the sound of it, I already love it! In my native country, we have a dish called "sinigang". It is sour soup and we can use either chicken, fish, or beef. Of course I prefer the chicken version of it. Happy myLotting!

Yum! Sounds good Koi. I have alot of eating restrictions that would prohibit me from trying your recipe. I usually eat broiled skinless chicken. Or steamed skinless chicken. I add garlic, pepper. I don't like salt. Sometime salsa. I know pretty boring. I agree.

Oh gosh. . .for me it would have to be rotisserie chicken hands down. I love any meat I eat to be juicy, I can't stand dry meat. I also like to eat chicken nuggets, which we occasionally get when we go to McDonalds, but I try not to think what they are really made of, since they taste really good lol. And chicken strips that are fried and breaded can taste really great too. xD I also like hot wings. . .

I really enjoy parboiling chicken. Sometimes I will parboil the chicken and then add all sorts of vegetables to make a soup. Other times I cut up the chicken and make tortillas or use the chicken on top of salad. There are so many ways to use parboiled chicken that I definitely think that's my favorite way to cook it!
