Always in 3's for us... who else?

Disasters in our life always come in 3s for some reason. I know some people to whom the same happens, but not many. I came home on friday to find out the - old I admit - base kitchen cabinets had somehow broken, or rather an important component did. Everything I had on top of the counter had fallen to one side because the darn thing was on a slant. One part still holding and the other side collapsed. Still recuperating from all the expenses while my mom was visiting for 6 months we weren't too happy about the fact that we had o choice but to buy not only the cabinets but a new sink as well, that ripped as the whole thing collapsed, new faucet etc. Being able to assemble things buy ourselves - Thank God! - and happy that it had only been the base cabinets, we started thinking about the cheapest places where we could get it.Saturday morning we prepare ourselves to visit home depot, rona, etc. We get in the car. It starts just to start shaking and having all these warning lights. Ok so now we have the car fixing, have to wait half a day for it - thankfully not more - and a bill of $700 even before we get close to the cabinets. Ok crossing our fingers because we know exactly how it usually goes with us, we finally are able to figure out which cabinets, sink, faucet and counter we can afford - actually we can't, but.. yeah.. whatever we can do - and we're down for more $600. We get home, start putting things together when we hear my cat fluffy. She got inside one of the boxes and ripped her tummy open on one of those big stapples that they use to close the boxes. Vet: 21 stiches $400. We hope it stopped here, can't afford any more disasters!grrrrrrrrrrr The disasters in your lives also happen in 3s?

Poor little fluffy. The disasters in my life usually only happen in ones, but they are whoppers, so I don't feel slighted. That is an expression that is much heard, but I never knew of it happening before. Hope you have finished all your Christmas shopping!

Nope, didn't even start yet - have a few things for the kids, but was planning on getting "la piece de resistance" later LOL NOt sure now. With me they always happen like that. The other major ones we got where: in 1 day having to buy a new sofa bed - necessary since it's where we sleep - the van suddenly needed a new transmission and getting home and someone backed up on our fence at the back and it was all in the middle of the driveway. We also got the one where hubby was laid off, someone stole the four tires off our car - were nice enough to leave the wood that they used to keep it up-, and we found out that car insurance we had paid was not on.The broker gave us papers and all but it was all fake and he pocketed the money. This from friday to monday. Or the one where in the morning our tv broke down permanently, while we were shopping for it our washing machine broke down as well, getting water all over the carpet in the basement which we had to replace because it's my mother in law's part of the house. With us it's always like that grrrrrrrr and more than once a year.

By the way, fluffy was not too well last night, but today she's really perking up and was quite hungry. Hopefully nothing will infect and all will be well. Keeping my fingers crossed if that helps at all :)

Although it is rather hard to type with one's fingers crossed, if you think it will help fluffy at all, I will keep mine crossed too! Glad to know fluffy is a bit better.

Ouch! I used to think these kinda things only happen to me. So what I do is to be thankful at the end of each day, and to pray for safety at the beginning of the day. It worked so far and things have been going smoothly. And after reading the book, The Secret, I am starting to believe that what I am doing is the right way to go. Try my method. Taking your three diaster as an example, I would say a prayer of thanks and be grateful that the collasped cabinets did not hurt anyone. And you are grateful for the fact that you only need to replace the cabinets and nothing more. For the car, be grateful that you are doing your servicing early and that no accident happened when driving. Instead, the car gave ample warning to you before it broke down. And for the last one, be glad that it is your cat, and not your kids or nephews or anyone you love having to suffer the same fate as your cat. Your cat sacrifice is appreciated. Once you start to see the positive side of things, then the diaster would not look so bad after all. It is not easy to do it. BUT it is doable. Just some effort to turn things around. Hope it helps.

That's a very positive way of looking at what happened and indeed one worth trying. A friend gave me a copy of the secret dvd just last friday, but with all these things happening I didn't have a chance to watch it yet, although I know more or less what it is about. Hope you have the most wonderful week :)

Well, with the week you have just been thru, it does help to try and see the positive side of things. The video is a little over an hour and a half. Worth the watch if you got the time. It is really interesting to see what the Law of Attraction can do. And the same goes to you, have a wonderful week ahead! PS... if things do not turn out the way you expect, you can always come here to gripe about it. Make money from the gripe and turn the bad into something good. Win win situation as well.

I am deathly afraid of disasters let alone disasters in threes. I can only handle one at a time and I do know how to deal with them when they don't come toppling doen my floor. Cheers!!

Does all 3 major kitchen appliances dying this year count? First the refrigerator (it HAD to be replaced), then the dishwasher (not neccesary, so not replacing for the time being), and the recently the stove (once again, kind of neccesary because I'm not really comfortable trying to prepare a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese on the grill). I'm sure there are othe multiples of three, I just haven't thought too much about them because it might be waaaaaayyyyyy too depressing.

It sure counts although I was thinking more in 3 things in less than 3 days LOL They do come in 3s for us. All the time. And when I say that I really mean within 1 to 2 days. I was lucky with the diswasher, during the summer, because I got one from a friend of mine. The stove is the only thing that I have for almost 20 years. But the fridge we had to buy last Xmas because it broke down.
