I just received an e-mail stating that I had been chosen by Capital One to take part in a survey and that as a reward I would get $20 credited to my ATM/Debit card. What a scam! It redirected me to a site that was http://www.zamarin.com/media/survey.html and then went on to another site which was http://survey.capitalone.com.securlty.com/docs/survey.html Don't be fooled by this e-mail. Here is a copy of the e-mail I received. I just want to make sure no one is fooled by this: "CONGRATULATIONS !!! You have been chosen by Capital One to take part in our quick and easy Member Satisfaction Survey. In return we will credit $20 to your ATM/Debit card account - Just for your time! Please take time to . . . Tell us about the service you receive. Tell us where we can do better. Recommend additional services you think might be useful to members Helping us better understand how our customers feel benefits everyone. With the information collected we can decide to direct a number of changes to improve and expand our online service. The information you provide us is all non-sensitive and anonymous - No part of it is handed down to any third party groups. It will be stored in our secure database for maximum of 3 days while we process the results of this survey At the Capital One your opinion is very important to us. We kindly ask you to spare two minutes of your time in taking part with this unique offer !!! To take the survey click on the link below: https://www.capitalone.com/onlineserv/index.htm Many thanks - Capital One Customer Department" I hope no one falls for this. Just be careful when you get an e-mail like this. I believe they are storing your account information to make fake cards, etc. and then use it for themselves. Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

I havent gotten any cards from them but ive gotten emails saying that someones send you a one thousand dollar gift card which turned out to be a scam. You have to be aware of all your emails because most emails are scams I do beleave unless if you know the person the email is sent.

Yes, that is very true. You do have to be careful. There is an old saying that if it is too good to be true it usually is. Thanks for your response and have a great day!

You're right - a definite scam. One way to see is when you place your cursor over the link they give you, check the bottom of your screen where your status bar is (it might say "done" or "waiting" etc when you're opening a page) to see what the REAL address is that you're going to. If it's not also Capitalone, then you know. I tried the link you wrote and it is totally bogus. It does go to Capitalone, but the other parts of the URL don't exist. Here is the error message I got: Sorry, your request could not be completed Please return to the Capital One home page and try to access the page again. If you continue to have problems, the page you’re looking for may be unavailable. If you gave them ANY information, make sure you call CapitalOne to cancel that card immediately!! These people send out so many of these bogus emails hoping that at least ONE person will be fooled because they actually have the card they're talking about. These people are really a bunch of Richard Craniums.

Yes, I saw that the url took me to a site that was not a Capital One site to begin with. What a bunch of crooks! Thanks for your response and have a great day!

I got this too but realized it was a phishing attempt to get information. Besides, I don't have an account there. Always better to ignore these kind of emails, because your bank would 1) know your name and 2) probably send a letter to your home address instead of emailing. Happy holidays!

Wow that just bites. I never take them one's as if I have to give out my info then no. I'm to leary of them as it is. When I buy on line I have a credit card just for that. $500.00 is the limit on it. And if I want more then I make a payment and go on to shop more. But I never go over. I have lowered it to $200.00 as of last month. I never went over that. So just to be safe. Have a good day. See you later your friend onlydia

Oh that is terrible. Thanks for the warning. I am very choosy in any emails I receive. I am careful and don't easily believe them especially those that asks me for money. I might try the ones that offers money but as long as I am not paying anything but I still do choose because I don't want to waste my time over such sites.

I'm part of the Capital One forum and I've never seen this before. You should forward it to Capital One so that they can hopefully prosecute those people. I do a couple surveys a month and post in their financial forum and they give me a $10 gift card each month that I do this. It's a good deal! But they do their own surveys, don't hire another site to do them. I'm glad you didn't fall for the scam!

The first clue was when they said they would credit it to your account lol

ok thanks. I will really stay away from that one. What's horrible is that we're all out here trying to make some money and all sorts of scams are out there to be aware of. It's horrible and i can't understand why there has to be scams, why can't it be a truthful online world and everyone is happy.
