Do you cut the crust to make your sandwich?

Lately I like making sandwich as breakfast and it really tastes so delicious. Few weeks ago I cut the crust to make the sandwich. And after that, I baked the crust and mixed some juice to eat them, too. I don't like to waste them. Then a few days ago I don't cut the crust any more. I found the sandwich is as delicious as before. Perhaps it is no need to cut the crust?

I have never been one to cut the crusts off sandwhiches. I would think that would be wasteful. I thing bread crusts taste fine and sometimes i actually prefer to eat it.

But I don't understand why the restaurants always cut the crusts off the sandwiches.

I have not experienced that restuarants remove the crust from sandwiches. Maybe they think it looks more refined? could you imagine if they cut the crust off of the hamburger buns....lol.

That would be totally wild and something to see if they did cut the crust off of a hamburger. You got me laughing. LOL Hmmm.......what would we call that.

I used to cut the crusts off of my sons bread years ago, he did'nt like it. I would eat the crust myself, I don't like to waste any food at all myself. I think at the time he just had a hard time with it, don't really know. That didn't last long at all. None of us cut the crust off at all, but if we are eating the sandwich and the crust is hard, it's not being eaten. We will then throw it out to the birds and believe me, it goes. Not just by birds either, we watched squirrels and chipmunks take off with them. That to me is not a waste and I'm glad to help the wildlife to. The only time a hard crust is eaten around here, is if it's a grilled sandwich.

I am a person who is very lazy to prepare my own food . But I have prepared my own sandwich a few times, and I never cut the crust. It tastes more delicious with the crust actually. That's why I have the feel that they are throwing the good parts of the bread, when I buy those sandwich without crust from the shop or food stall. This is an interesting discussion . Happy posting and have a nice day youless!

Haha, then both of us can be good friends, because of this common characteristic. In fact, I am hardworking on things I have interest in. So, I am lazy in preparing my food, because I really do not have interest in cooking. . I would rather pay and enjoy the food in the restaurant, although that's not so healthy. Therefore, I would be very happy when I am back in hometown, to eat the home prepared food, which doesn't have preservative and additive.

I have know mothers that cut the crusts off their kid's sandwiches but I never did. the crust is just like the rind on critis fruit. That is where the accumulation of nutrients can be found most.

Hi conventionally when sandwiches are made, they cut the crust and I suppose it is to give better appearance to the sandwich. But personally,I love the taste of bread crust, since it is very crisp. So when I make sandwiches for myself I do not cut the crust.....

For myself I don't bother. And I don't do it on a regular basis for anyone. But if my daughter asks I will cut off the crusts for her. Most of the time I will throw them away. Once in a while I will toss them to the birds.

I think it's better to take advantage of the crust. There are many people still starve.

Hi, I usually don't cut the crust, maybe because I'm lazy. Anyway, I usually toast the bread before making sandwiches, so it tastes okay.

I must say I am a bit envious as your first problem of the day at breakfast is whether to eat your breakfast sandwich with the crust which tastes delicious, or without the crust which tastes delicious. The thought never crosses my mind as I never indulge in crustless sandwiches which I always seemed to think they were eaten by little old ladies with tea when they had cucumber sandwiches on white bread. A real man's sandwich has the crust on.

I am glad to know it. You know sandwich isn't a kind of Chinese food. So when the restaurants only offer the crustless sandwich, I will think this should be sandwich look like

Don't cut the crusts LOL! For me the best part of the bread is the crust, especially if it's freshly baked bread, rather than the sliced! I will nibble away at the crust as this is my favourite! I love the crusts and I will always insist on having the ends of the bread too, where most people would leave behind, I will eat straight away! No definitely a crust person is this wolf!

I prefer to eat my crust. The crust is my favorite part of the bread. Even when my children were little and desired the crust to be cut off - if I made homemade bread they all argued on who was going to get the heal which is, of course, mostly crust. So their wanting to go crustless, I think, is all in their head. to take off the crust is to go without a large portion of the bread.

i am not one who like to waste food.. so i've trained myself, and the whole family to eat bread with the crust. in fact, i like the bread crust very much... especially if toasted.. they're sooo crunchy... yummy !! my mom thinks it is 'not presentable' to serve sandwiches, bread with the crust.. but i dont care.. if it is family+friends i'll just leave the crust as it is.. but if i have guests.. to make things easier.. i serve something else... not bread.. then i dont have to worry if they like breadcrust or not...

sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, it depends on my mood at the time I'm going to eat the sandwich... But if I do cut the crust, my husband eats it, so it doesn't go to waste... :)
